Yeah, I think a lot of people, especially the ones who played the PS2 Battlefront games, were surprised there was no offline campaign. People are still asking for it on the forums there, but idk if we'll ever get it. EA pretty much cut off communication with the forums. We were supposed to get details on the first DLC a week ago and still haven't heard anything from them.-

I don't think the aim screw up was intentional. They meant to just make you move slower while aiming with the pulse cannon, and I think they fucked up the code somewhere along the line.
On the plus side Bowcaster is stronger now and A-wings got fixed. Imperials can actually win Fighter Squadron now.-

It had some offline play in the form of the missions. People were a bit upset over the first one though, but I think it's because EA didn't basically go back on their word with any of it. Like for this new one, they said any duplicates you get from crates will be turned into crafting parts, but then they changed it so that you only get credits. In post 41, Zachrulez wrote:I was referring to the first remake of battlefront with my online only comment which actually was online only.
And the heroes getting locked behind a credit wall was a curveball that they never even hinted at. And that's really the thing that gets me. Why on earth did they think it's a good idea to lock the most iconic characters in the franchise like that? Even reduced prices shouldn't be a thing. Plus a leaker alleges that the lowered prices are actually part of a marketing strategy known as "outdating the rage" in which they start out with absurd values then lower them after the backlash to give the appearance that they're listening to feedback. I don't know how much I buy into that theory to be honest, since they actually have listened to feedback in the past (helmetless stormtroopers eventually went away, and every difference between the last game and this one was due to criticisms of the past game).
I would have cancelled my preorder and boycotted too, but my game preloaded so I'm going to play it. As stated above, the actual gameplay IS amazing (I played the beta), I'm just really frustrated with how they've handled heroes in this game. First they decided to do cross-era heroes (I almost decided against getting the game when that was pretty much confirmed because they seemed to ignore how many people were against it), but decided it wasn't that big of a deal and thought there may be some kind of compromise put in the game and that I would personally play in-era heroes only. Then this happened.
It's like, I love the game but not what they're doing to it, if that makes sense.-

See the battle points cost for out-of-era heroes is the kind of compromise I was hoping for. My thing is that we already have to earn points in-game to play as the heroes, why do we have to earn points out-of-game just to get the chance? It's like COD killstreaks where you have to grind to the level to unlock them then earn points to use them, except in COD it's at least single use items that are treated this way and not what are essentially an entire class.-

From what I've seen even the devs didn't want a lot of the stuff in the game that everyone's rioting about. It sounds like a decision made by top execs and one that's even causing inner turmoil for EA/DICE (Dennis himself just got promoted from assistant lead to lead designer, and in the list of things he did and didn't work on all the didn't stuff was the lootboxes and progression). In post 49, Aronis wrote:that may be true, but they changed hero costs, so there's a chance this gets a major overhaul? just gotta wait and see
also iden versio is amazing. she has a pulse cannon that charges fast and has infinite uses that is just insane. Got 30 kills w/ her and heavy/specialist on starkiller base which is easily my best number so far on this game. she can be exceptionally good if you just keep your distance on maps.
And I played through the campaign last night. Took like 5 hours on the hardest difficulty. I liked the story. That ending though... it's not bad it's just holy shit if that's what they're doing with this.
Spoiler: HEAVY SPOILER WARNING-
