Hi there, lovelies.
OGML & Reck (aka Vanilla Bean & Rainbow Swirl) are here to bring you a game that we consider a return to Survivor basics for our first game together! We hope to have the game done quickly. This will only be an 18 player game and will move at a pretty swift pace with very little downtime in an effort to finish the game as quickly as possible. Please fill out the application form below if you're interested in playing!
PM's are only to be used for communication within your tribe. All out-of-tribe contact is to be confined to challenge threads.

Pretty Super Vanilla is ANONYMOUS. All participants are strictly prohibited from so much as hinting to their own identities or implying another player's MS identity. Communication outside the private message system is also forbidden until otherwise stated. This also includes communicating with someone you know to be spectating. Failure to follow this rule can result in a variety of consequences ranging from a terse warning to one's elimination from the game. We reserve the right to determine the severity of possible infractions.
Immunity Challenges:

Each round will contain an immunity challenge.

The outcomes of all Challenges are final. That said, however, be sure to keep Rule 03 of General Rules in mind, and we will use our judgment in fringe cases.

Winners of Immunity Challenges will be safe from elimination that round and cannot be voted out in Tribal Councils.

We appreciate the fact that prospective contestants will enter this game with a range of skills. With this in mind, understand that we as mods can't always cater to all players' needs and time constraints in challenges- but we've tried!
Tribal Council:

Tribal Councils will last twenty-four hours from the moment challenge results are posted. If a player fails to submit a vote within the given time frame, he or she will self-vote.

The results of Tribal Councils may be posted before deadline if and only if all persons involved have submitted a vote and requested Tribal Council to end early, and the mods are not lazy. But highly unlikely, don't count on it.
[08]
The modification of votes after they have been submitted is allowed. Just be sure to do it before deadline and in a separate post. Edits won't be counted if we miss them!
[09]
In the event of repeated failures to vote, the moderating team may choose to eliminate or replace the offending player.
[10]
The outcomes of Tribal Councils are final.

Questions concerning ties in Tribal Council may be found below:
Spoiler: Breaking Ties
I.
In the event of an initial tie, a revote shall take place. Contestants may only vote for one of the tied players, and all tied individuals may not vote. Reward items may not be used in this revote.
II.
If a majority is not met in the revote, all tied players and immune players become instantly immune and the remaining players will draw rocks for elimination. In a Final 4 TC, rocks will not be drawn, and the tied players will participate in a tiebreaker challenge.

The mods have designed this game to be as smooth and vanilla as possible, hence the flavor! There will still be some fun twists along the way, but don't expect anything Arkham-worthy.

Note the updated timeframe. In order to avoid a multiple day delay, we're going to have to close signups this coming Saturday evening!

Player acceptance PMs have been sent out (as well as backup/reserve player PMs).
If you did not get a PM, you're a spectator! We'll be sending out spectator PMs tomorrow evening after we open & start the game.

If any spectators want a bit of early access to talk/discuss before the game opens, let me know!
I'll be holding back the few potential replacements but anyone else can have early access if they want it.

First off, I think Drench was pretty apt when he said "well tonight we've met our quota of spec toxicity" or whatever. It was a saucy spec forum in Hyrule, and then again here. The drama backstage was ridiculous and overblown and I hate that it happened, but then again, I tend to be able to separate, "Oh shit, let's go IN on some silly forum drama!" from "Oh no, this is completely serious and matters on a personal level" in a way that is healthier for these games. I want to apologize to OGML for his first Survivor modding experience being so toxic near the end, because he is the total brainchild behind those crazy swaps and beautifully efficient game design, and I was basically just here to fill in the dots and make sure it happened. I will say I felt much less crazy and stressed and on the verge of tears this time than I did in Hyrule, which is nice! Maybe Star Wars will be stress-free (lolololol).
I'm incredibly happy the game finished in 39 days, as that was our MAIN goal from the start of the design process. We also tried to say yes to every newbie who applied, and we were BASICALLY able to do exactly that. We had hoped that this game would be a bit of a relief from the meta. With it over with in such a short timeframe (has there ever been a shorter game?) we thought the "time commitment" would be a bit easier to manage, rather than the 2-3 month behemoth that some games become (which is fine, just not what we wanted). I'd like to think it was a half-success on that front... some of the early boots were still "so-and-so didn't PM like a crazy person!" and resulted in activity based boots, however, some people who were more lax with the PMing and not a frantic PMer made it pretty damn far. And we certainly achieved the 39 days goal.
Making images was a JOY. I think, the next time I mod... I'll need some people to help shoulder the daily commitments, though. I got kinda shafted with Hyrule when Xalxe/kdowns sorta ghosted on me, and here I
volunteered
to be the day to day person because it was only 39 days, but there were still way too many times when I had to push off social life or work life in order to run the game, and I need to make sure I get a bit more of a break in the future. I think the only day I had "off" was when it was my one-year wedding anniversary 2 weeks ago! I'm looking forward to making Star Wars happen with a good team of mods in charge.
Anyway, onto the actual game. I am SO PROUD of the newbies in this game. You guys rocked it. About half of the jury was newbies! And that FTC performance from BBM was one of the best I've seen... you absolutely just killed it and congratulations on your win. It was a true BBM win: bitch at people and be an asshole part of the game, win anyway, somehow. I hope the newbies in this game will come back to play later, because everyone in this game was a joy to watch. Shadoweh was fucking DOMINANT, like holy shit. And xof finally toppled Snakes as the "best" Survivor player on MS <3
I have more to say but this is all I can muster for now.
