My biggest problem with day 1 being cut short like that is that we didn't get enough substantial bandwagons for my liking. I'm willing to give Jack a little leeway: Ms Piggy was a noob, and noobs do stupid things occasionally. Still worht keeping an eye on him though.

I also dislike the way Rishi attacked a whole bunch of people without ever voting them. It did seem a bit like throwing things out and seeing what would stick. If SSF had come up scum I would be voting him now, as he often seemed to be looking for an alternative bandwagon while keeping his vote on SSF. But that's moot now.

Before I did some, you know, analysis? Yes, I did, or at least I wanted to see his response before committing. But no, on analysis of the game, I don't think he's in my top 3 -- his contributions have been horrid, but not out of his norm; no town tells, no scum tells, not much play, for that matter. I'd like to see a replacement before making judgment there.

This is a possible explanation, but it doesn't look that likely from your post. The statement about dylan was in the same post as your "analysis", you could have changed it.

I can actually respond to that, as my opinion on his play this game was mediated by seeing him play oddly as town in the game I am modding (in which he is now dead), so I thought that the case against wasn't very strong.

I'm happy you're adding more content than your predecessor, but I still prefer a you lynch to an anyone else lynch, with the perhaps exception of mneme. Rishi's Patrick case is not appealing to me, and though I can see Rishi as scum I've recently decided than focusing on more than one target at a time is a good way to get distracted.

I think you should be able to explain why you thought it was too early to lynch xyzzy, but were fine keeping your vote on SSF when he was -1. Then you express frustration about the hammer after the fact, when you could've easily removed your vote to get rid of the -1 and give SSF a chance to provide a defense/claim.

Your very general "Flea was acting scummy" statement doesn't suffice. You still give no reasons for your vote on him. What I find scummy is that the only reason you ever gave for voting Flea was "This wagon needs more support" and you STILL won't give a reason for your vote. All you do is make excuses about why you were conveniently gone long enough for him to get hammered. Maybe you forgot about the game. Or maybe you stayed away intentionally. Actually, I disagree. Posting self-analysis can be one of the hardest thigns to do as scum, as you have to not only invent your lies to explain your actions that have other motivations but also then keep your lies in order, and try and stop yourself contradicting earlier lies. The smiley was meant to indicate that this is kinda ridiculous, since if I knew what was crap I wouldn't post it.I don't think it really conveyed that in retrospect, but at least it shut down a useless and difficult for me avenue of discussion.

Post 32: Give my thoughts on self-analysis. This one took a while. I haven't really been engaged with the game since, well, I lost touch with it shortly after voting flea. Hopefully I can use my self-analysis to springboard my way back into the thick of things.

Post 33: Began self-analysis. It actually ends in a lie: I didn't run out of time, I jsut got bored with it. With the amount of onle-liners I've posted this game, it's amazing I've managed to comment this much. A lot of it is simply a ercap of my actions anyway, as they're pretty self explanatory for the most part (baring one or two obvus exceptions).

Post 34: I've never gotten how being defensiveis meant to be a scumtell, or how someone is supposed to defend against it. As such, it always feels a bit loaded to me: no matter your reply it's counted against you. I hate it as an argument.

Conclusion: I need to step up ùp my involvement in this game. I have little emotional attachment to it and am being lazy about it. Many of my posts have been one liners, emphasising the lack of attachment to the game. The fact that flea turned up town coupled with the mod disappearing for ages has left me somewhat adrift. I will attempt from here on in to become involved with the game again.

I'd be interested to know what motivated you to lie. What did you think our reaction would be if you told us you got bored with it? Why did you think it'd be better to tell us you ran out of time? Mmm. I'm not really sure, tbh. I think I was being fairly over cautious at the time, given how I'd just argued that it was something difficult for scum to do. Also, I think I was in a pretty bad mood (as well as being bored) and didn't really feel like continuing, but didn't want to draw unnecessary attention on to myself. I then admitted my lie because it was easily verifiable as a lie, given that I had been online for a good while after I posted that, and didn't want to make it worse.

Eh. Lurking in the manner xyzzy was ins't actually suspicious - it indicates he has flaked. Townies are as likely to do that as scum, as best I can make out - there seems to be no correlation between flaking and a player's alignment.

OTOH, lurking actively like Jdodge is is a scumtell: it allows you to fly by under the radar whilst more important things are happening. Guardian believes this to be a metagame function of jdodge's playstyle, however, and I'm inclined to believe that. Hence it is a nulltell there too.

Bookitty, you're wrong about the contradictions. Simply put, it makes no sense to make assumptions based on assumptions. Guardian believes you are scum, but is unwilling to make assumptions on the alignments of other players until he has his beliefs confirmed or refuted. If he reads all the other players assuming you are scum and then you turn up town, it's a whole lot of wasted effort. In this sense, him waiting to see if he's right or worng about you is not scummy, and there are no contradictions.

That said, Guardian, I think your FoS of Setael was unjustified. If we were to perhaps rephrase the question - who do you think Bookitty's scumbuddy is? then it makes more sense (and is a fairly conventional line of questioning). Even if you disagree with that theoretically (if you do disagree with it theoretically, I'd like to know why), it doesn't make Setael more likely to be scum. I know that's not exactly what Setael said, but it's what the result of the analysis of the swing would be (a likely partner for Bookitty). Also, if you look and see the mneme was a part of that swing then you have evidence against Bookitty (I don't recall off the top of my head if he was.) It's not an unreasonable request.

Really long ass "effort" posts that make people think you really care AND obfuscate the connection between you and your scum partners. I still think her reason for voting me is absolutely contrived garbage, and that added to xyzzy's play makes me very happy with a Bookitty lynch.

He often seems to be attacking lots of players at once - he'll suddenly say he doesn't like something or someone while keeping his vote on lurkers/flakers or even on no one at all.

Setael's play towards Rishi has me hesitating somewhat, though. I don't see a scum who's going down trying to start a bandwagon on her partner. Iunno. What I did gain from her posts is a greater reluctance to vote xyzzy - it seems like all her arguments focus around xyzzy/ssf bandwagon and how people moved to the flea wagon - all assuming that xyzzy is scum. And yet, I don't think she ever votes for him. I'm unsure what to make of this - it could be that she was trying to link people to a scum partner, or it could be that she didn't want xyzzy lynched or many of her arguments would be gone. I'm leaning towards the latter.

Yes, I did attack Setael while leaving my vote on xyzzy. But I also had made a statement that until xyzzy (or his replacement) posted, I would not retract my vote. Someone would have jumped on me for waffling if I had switched my vote so early.

I basically waited until Bookitty started looking pro-town before I removed my vote. The reason that Bookitty jumped back on my radar today was Setael's defense of xyzzy. (I don't generally look for scumbuddies - I find it more useful to think about individual scum.)

Whatever I do now, knowledge that Jdodge is lying is going to affect my play. I'm not convinced he's lying scum, but even if I pull off a perfect reaction to his claim the sole consequence is that my claim will be believed less. So, let's get it over with now.

Well, actually, I've been thinking about the consequences of me being outed, and decided they weren't too bad. I was planning on breadcrumbing my block tonight anyway, in the hopes of clearing someone: with me outed, there's no doubting who my block was on/is going to be on tonight. The thing is, if scum kill, they have to clear a player, a situation which benefits us. If they no kill, that also benefits us (and I'm taking missed kills as nulltells at this point). I'm not willing to say which I think benefits us more. Scum can work out their own strategy. I was hoping I could survive and clear another player tonight, which would have been a forced town victory. With my claim, it limits it to a likely town victory.

so they are cleared as well going into the next day if you are killed. My advice: Patrick. Having him cleared would help out tremendously, he's on the bubble for me and I think he could win this as scum. That is for if/when we go to night.

Patrick was who I was going to block anyway, and I see no reason to change that.

Well I think my play as roleblocker was pretty obvious. I was originally simply trying to leave hints about blocking thin_man but eh, when everyone started picking at it it became fairly obvious. More experienced scum would probably have killed me (in fact, it occurs to me that it's just as likely TM blocked the kill as I did). However, the contradiction I saw between mneme's post and Setael's post screamed scumbuddy, so I just ran with it. Lucky I did, really. At any rate, Setael was the most satisfying lynch this game.

It's funny how the mneme lynch gave the game more vitality. Jack's pushing of it basically wo the game for us. If he hadn't pushed, we might have just ended up vaguely wandering while the scum paralysed the game into a win.
