A red sun rises over Cliché-Town. A mourning dove coos quietly in the distance, the only sound in the seemingly peaceful morning. Suddenly, a piercing scream breaks the silence. Quickly, the villagers rush to the source of the noise, but find they are too late, the first victim of the mafia already dead. They look around at each other suspiciously. Killers have arrived in Cliché-town. Now it is up to the townsfolk to find and lynch them, and save themselves from the Mafia menace.

2. Remember, there are 11 other people in this game, and they want to have fun too. Be courteous towards other players.

3. Role PMs are secret, as are any PMs I send you. Do not tell anyone your role, or quote your Role PM in the game thread or to anyone else.

4. Do not discuss the game outside the game thread, unless your role PM specifically states certain players that you may talk to during the night phase.

5. Votes must be in the following format: Vote: Player_Name. If your vote does not follow that format, (make sure it’s bold) your vote will not count. Unvoting when changing your vote is not required, but it is suggested.

6. When you die (through votes or Nightkill), you are DEAD. You may no longer post, besides a single “bah” post.

7. If you will unable to post for a period longer than 72 hours, please warn me ahead of time.

8. If you have not warned me beforehand, I will send you a prod if you don’t post for 72 hours. I will give you another 24 hours to respond before I begin searching for a replacement. If you respond to your prod, yet do not post for five days, I will replace you.

9. If activity is slow, I may post a deadline. When deadline is reached, the player with the most votes will be lynched (With a minumum of half of the normal number of votes needed to lynch, rounded up). If there is a tie, the player who had the most votes for the longest amount of time will be lynched.

10. The town may decide to No Lynch. A majority of votes is needed.

It was very late that night, as FaerieLord hurried home from his mason meeting. It was a dark night, with almost no moonlight to guide his trip. The silence pressed in around him, making his footsteps seem to echo for miles. With relief, FaerieLord finally arrived home. He took out his keys, and started to unlock the door. Or at least he tried to. The keys did not seem to fit, no matter how he tried. He felt himself break out in a cold sweat. He turned, and saw behind him a looming figure, waiting. “Your time has come”, the figure said, raising a gun and firing once. FaerieLord crumpled to the ground, and the figure disappeared into the night.

As the day grew old, the argument in town hall droned on and on. Much of the town sat around, staring carelessly out of windows. The sun began to set. As clock stuck Eight O’clock, the town would have no more debate. They had had enough. Ignoring other absent-minded towns members, Kison, IH, Vollkan, Jenter Brolincani all turned their eyes to D3sisted. Poor D3sisted looked right and left, hoping for an escape, or help from the daydreaming members of Cliché-town, but it was to no avail. As the sun went down, Jenter finished up tying the noose around D3sisted’s neck. Then they all watched as D3sisted breathed his last breath. As he hung, an I.D. card fell out of his pocket. It identified him as a vanilla townie.

There was a certain air of desperation that filled the town hall that next morn. Yes, there had been no kill the night before, but how long could it last? The town knew that they were no closer to eliminating the mafia threat, and knew taht it would not be long before the killing began again. And so the day began with a ferverous discussion. But as it began to wear on and on, the discussion began to lag, and the town began to grow tired. Sometime around noon, a new face entered Town Hall. His name was The Fonz.
"I'm the cop 'round these parts," he proclaimed, "and I've been investigating this crime for some time. The culprit is Bookitty!"
A long silence followed, as the townfolk glanced back and forth between each other. Whispers of doubt began to spread throughout the room.
"Is he our cop?" said one.
"I dunno, I cant remember." said another.
"Probably should have written that down..." said a third. For some time this carried on. By consensus, the town really had not the foggiest whether this man was the cop or not. Needless to say, Bookitty did not think so.
"Who cares?" one finally shouted, "Let's just lynch Bookitty!"
And lynch Bookitty the town did. The Fonz, Adel, Vollkan, ChronX, Paradoxombie, and Kison all got together and dragged the screaming Bookitty to the gallows. As Kison finished tying the noose, Bookitty leaned forward spit on him angrily.
"Fools!" she said. "You may have caught me, but the Syndicate will outlive you all! You'll be sorry...you'll all be sorry!"
Hearing enough, Kison slipped the noose around her head, and let her hang. No I.D. fell to the ground.

“Ah, what a great night to be a towns person!” thought Paradoxombie, as he walked home from his favorite pub, “The Drunken Townie”. The night was clear as could be, and the stars twinkled in the sky. Though happy, Paradoxombie soon found that his legs grew weary of walking. Remembering a shortcut he knew, he sauntered off, into an alley. About 5 steps in, he knew he had made a grave mistake. Turning suddenly to break for the open street, he found his path blocked by a shady figure. Turning again, he saw that the other end of the alley was much too far for him to make an escape.
“You can’t escape me, Para,” said the figure “just like my dear friend Bookitty could not escape hanging at the hands of you and your friends!” Para said nothing, but instead made a break for the distant end of the alley, his heart pounding in time with his feet. The shady figure laughed.
“It’s time that you pay for your ways. Good bye Paradoxombie.” The figure raised his hand, revealing a shining revolver. He shot only once, but that shot was enough to end the life of Paradoxombie. In his last moments alive, he looked up into the sky and saw the full moon, and a tear fell from his eye. Then the world went black. Paradoxombie would see no more.

The third day of the mafia's presence in Cliché-town brought with it a sense of renewed hope. Though the sound words of Paradoxombie would be missed, it seemed that the tides were beginning to turn. So it was with renewed vigor that the town met on day three. A renewed vigor, and with it, a new vehemence. The scene quickly grew ugly in town hall as emotions rose to a boiling point. Words were thrown back and forth, and all discussion began to lead towards Adel. She knew she must find a way out of the center of discussion, but how? Finally, she called out defiantly, in a last ditch effort to save herself
"You don't have the guts to lynch me!"
Guardian simply stared at her for a second.
"I never back down from a challenge." he said, and with the help of most of the town, dragged her off to the gallows. Soon, all that remained of Adel was a corpse, swaying in the wind. Upon search of the body, the town discovers that Adel was weaponless, and in fact, a citizen of Cliché-town.

The transition to night from the day before was hardly noticed by the town. A stupor had fallen over most of the town, and it was not long before everyone was asleep. Well, maybe not everyone. Though the night was old, Vollkan was still up, working perfunctorily. The sleepless nights were beginning to take their toll on him, and his hands shook as they worked, preparing a small pack of emergency supplies. After he had finished, he was ready to leave on moment’s notice, to save an unknown victim from an unknown assailant. Little did he know that tonight, that victim would be him. Vollkan opened his door and stepped out into the night. There was little light, as the stars were clouded, and the moon was a mere sliver in the sky. Before Vollkan could take another step, a tall figure stepped forward to block his path. No words were spoken between the two. Vollkan, resigned to his fate, looked straight into the eyes of his assailant, as the figure raised his arm, and fired once. With a bullet between his eyes, Vollkan’s medical career came to an end. Taking pride in a job well done, the figure grinned. This courageous doctor would hinder the Mafia no more.

Though the town was beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel, their troubles were not through at the start of Day Four, and they could only hope for the best by the end of it. On this day, Guardian did not wait for the rest of the town to start talking. He jumped right into it. Loudly and clearly, he said, “I’m the tracker”
Naturally, the town was skeptical. They probed his claim, asked him questions, and interrogated him. He claimed he knew the killer, who had done all these terrible things; but alas, the town did not want to hear it. After some discussion, the town agreed, the man was clearly lying. And so, Jenter Brolincani, Chronx, TheFonz, and Korlash all got together and dragged Guardian away. As Jenter worked at tying the noose, Guardian spoke again.
“You fools! You do not know whom you are messing with. I may fall, but there are others, many other who will continue my work without me! You haven’t seen the last of the Guardiani Syndicate!”
And with those words, Guardian was left to swing from the gallows. A small package fell from his pocket; inside was anything he would’ve needed to destroy evidence against him. It was clear that had the cop investigated him, nothing out of the ordinary would’ve been found.

It was with an air of satisfaction that TheFonz walked home from town hall. It seemed as if he would finally get to see the last of the Mafia hang, if he could just catch one this night. But alas, it was not to be. It was no surprise to him when a figure stepped out of the shadows, blocking his path.
“Ah, our little hero” said the figure. “I was hoping I might run into you tonight, after the little incident regarding Guardian this afternoon. My sincerest apologies, but I can’t let a favor go without return.” The figure shrugged, raised his pistol, and fired twice, felling TheFonz where he stood. The figure stood over the body, and fired once again. “How do you like that investigation, pig?” he said, and disappeared into the night.

The day is long, and no one feels like listening to what Kison has to say. The three other members of Cliché-Town get together and drag him to the gallows, struggling all the way. Finally the four arrive and begin to tie the noose. Right before it is slipped over Kison’s head, he cries out “Forgive me Godfather! I have failed you!” Then Kison spoke no more, and was left to swing. As was apparent from his speech, the town discovers that Kison was a Mafia goon.

Thank you so much to all of the replacements in this game. I'm pretty sure we broke a record. But had it not been for the willingness of several players this game couldve well been abandoned.

Guardian and I should've switched the role-claim to me. I didn't realize it until it was too late.

Thats one of the things I wanted to comment on. That was probably the biggest scum mistake. However, the cop ended up being more useful to town then I intended due to the early death of the mafia roleblocker, so it wouldve been hard to pull out anyhow. Good play on the town's part though.

Jenter held up well under the pressure of the mafia-mason accusations. What a bad twist of fate to have lost his masonic brethren before anyone could post anything, and then linger under that cloud of suspicion all game, only to be alive at the end. His early play was a bit scummy, but he settled down and played cool calm and convincing at the end.

That reminds me, I wanted to apologize for putting "innocent" mason, for the added confusion and suspicion on Jenter. I'll be sure to be more careful with my wording next time I mod (which will be very soon, a large normal).
