That's actually really rather good.

It's weak cop who informs their targets. Pretend to be a compulsive fruit vendor, then when you die everyone you targeted is conftownie and the last person you targeted is probscum. Or, when you have enough conftownies just cash in and reveal that you're actually weak and thus everyone you've targeted is conftownie, just like a normal weak cop. One problem with weak cop is that the mafia can just kill you if you claim/breadcrumb too hard. This completely solves that.

Now a weak compulsive weak mass-fruit vendor on the other hand, is actually shit.
A mass-(compulsive mass-weak fruit vendor)izer on the other hand, is basically god.
A compulsive weak mass-(compulsive mass-weak fruit vendor)izer on the other hand, means that you should go fuck yourself for including it.

How so? You essentially control the mafia's NKs and/or stop them (If doctor exists) until you die. Redirect them towards the weaker players and/or the players most likely to be lynched/scum. If you hit scum, you both die, this is good. (Unless doctor exists in which case not sure would have to do math, but even then, it would only be bad because it would involve your death and losing you would be worse than killing scum would be good).
Now mass weak compulsive electrifier on the other hand, wouldn't make any sense.

Weak fruit vendor isn't much better than weak cop, because on the night you hit Mafia, they can just claim not to have seen the fruit vendor message. It doesn't really even confirm townies, because if anyone you targeted has died, the scum can take an educated guess that that's happened when nobody claims to have been fruit vendored on a particular night and claim that it was them who was targeted that night.

That said, weak cop is not a weak role.

Right. My point isn't that you can't play it like weak cop, because you can; it's that I can't see any advantages (or disadvantages, to be fair) it has over weak cop for the player holding it or their faction.

You know how a Friendly Neighbour basically lets other people get Cop results on you (thus proving you're town)? Fruit Vendor was intended as the Rolecop version of that (it lets you prove you don't have another role). It's normally only really seen in Smalltown-type games where you get to bid on roles; you get to say "look, I had the option to bid on roles and intentionally chose a useless one". Some people like being able to do that, even though it isn't really alignment-indicative.
