Letting you know right now that I'm going to reject Except When He Does. The phrase just isn't unique to him.

I know it's not in good taste to provide input on your own title, but come on.

The origin of this title spawned from the fact that I had never had a single drink of alcohol, then showed up at the (first) Reckoning. Nervous and wanting to be polite, when Reck/Nuwen mentioned there was communal alcohol, I turned it down, stating "I don't drink". Due to peer pressure and curiosity, I eventually helped myself to said alcohol and played a few rounds of drinking games. Someone noticed I was wastedface (MoS?) and said, "I thought you said you didn't drink," to which I enthusiastically responded "Except when I do!"

It became a memorable part of the meet, leading into things such as The Stair Incident. I've brought it up in games, LoL when I played with scummers, in real life and so on, and it still gets referenced

three years later

, albeit mostly from the Commune. If my memory serves, during the NC Oman-meet, even Oman said 'except when you do?' in response to something I said. Oman, a user whose only interaction with him I had prior to meeting him (as far as I can recall) was him

turning down my title in his own Fairythread

.

Now, I can think of other titles that probably fit me better if they were in good taste to present myself. But to say that this title isn't 'unique' enough actually really annoys me. Is it a unique phrase in itself? Maybe not. Do I say it that often on the forums? Not much anymore - IIRC, Buttons said something like "I'd give him the title if he said it more", but I'm not going to spam the phrase everywhere just to get a damn title. I don't like forced titles like that.

But if you're going to tell me that a fairly memorable mafiascum meet event from three years ago, still referenced by people that weren't even there, doesn't deserve a title because of 'uniqueness' issues, then support a title for rage-mashing a keyboard, I'm going to voice my opinion even if it's not 'polite' to do so.

All that aside, I think Anti deserves a better title. I don't think it fits him well enough despite the quotes in-thread. He deserves something better, not that I have other suggestions.

Oh, I'm perfectly fine with not getting it because I stuck up for myself. I lurk on the forums a lot lately, so I didn't expect non-Commune members to comment much. Figured it was a damned-if-I-do or don't situation.

Having a title is not my issue - I already said I don't care if I get one, whether you believe me or not. I'm just disliking some of the hypocrisy thrown around with titles - username puns are discouraged but 50 Shades passed (recent example); let's make titles unique but then consider *faceroll KEYBOARD RAGIN'*... that's just off the top of my head. Most people are fine with everyone getting titles and not making them super-special like they used to be/still are, but then restrictions/suggestions are ignored for some users and not others. I was against 50 Shades for that reason.

And that's not the reason I'm upset. Don't give me the title then, that's not the part I care about. I'd have said the same thing if a similar (re)nom was brought up.

You're focusing on the fact that I weighed in at all and it's coming across as stubborn. I typed out my original post because I wanted to give context and show it wasn't about the specific phrase. If I don't say anything, nothing will change, but if I argue my points, I get dismissed as "oh he just wants a title" without my points being considered. How is that fair? It's like calling me scummy and when I come in to defend myself you're yelling "QUIT FLAILING SCUM".

maybe it's because I'm not a Tohou fan but I really don't get "Seven Colored Pupeteer" other than the reference. trying to say Seven-Colored = beauty/elegance like a rainbow, just... feels stretching, and it kind of taints the title for me.
