Somestrangeflea's Gameshow Marathon has come to MafiaScum! It's basically where you can take part in lesser known game shows, in a tournament-like way...

The Marathon is set up with three opening rounds, with the winner from each going on to a 1v1 semi-final, and the winner of that going on to the final! It's not a particularly radical concept, but still...

Anyhoo, Round 1 is Winning Lines.

The first round starts with all the contestants being assigned a number. There are 6 questions in this round. I will then post one question with a numerical answer, and lock the thread, every day at 1PM EST/6PM UK Time. Players can then PM their answers to me for the next 24 hours. The player who sends the correct answer in first, goes through to round 2 of the game. Anyone else who sends in a correct answer, along with anyone who didn't send in any answer, is back in the game, and can answer the next question. Anyone who sends in an incorrect answer is immediately out of the game.

In round 1, players can edit their answers until the deadline is up, but cannot withdraw their answer. Each day, a new question will be posted, and the correct and eliminated players will be revealed.

Also, here's the lowdown on how Round 2 is going to work.

Players will use their numbers from Round 1 to answer questions. The only possible answers are the players' numbers themselves. The only answer being accepted for each question is the first answer posted, so this will be a quickfire round.

Players answering incorrectly are eliminated. Also, if a player correctly answers with another player's number, that player is eliminated. Last player left wins.

Round 2 will be played "live" in this thread. A question will be posted at 5pm BST/Midday EST on Tuesday (Exactly 4

hours after this post) and players are free to answer in the thread. Questions will continue to be posted and answers accepted until 7pm UK Time/2pm EST (2 hours later). If the game has not been decided by then, then it will continue the next day until we have a winner.
