Still nothing from QualityNode. If I don't hear from them by the end of the evening, I'm going to upload our worlds to another host and cancel the service with them. This is pretty unacceptable.

It's likely the backup that will go onto any new host's server will be the morning of the crash or the day before. I'm willing to replace anything major that was lost.

I forget who it was that mentioned the cloud host - maybe Maruchan or Maestro? - if one of you could send me the link for that again, that would be great.

Though why they wouldn't have replied as such in a ticket is beyond comprehension. Maybe the downsizing affected people and nobody there to answer...

I actually checked this yesterday and none of the servers ETL has are effected by the change. I don't quite understand what's wrong, to be honest. It's really confusing.

We have no access to any of the Vanilla Server's files, unfortunately - including the backups made.

PytoHost is well and truly dead. All the server nodes I can see are offline with an error (including ours), they tweeted within the last month about sending some customers to an LA-based hosting company (but didn't explain why) and I'm not receiving a response from their support team on any of our issues.

Klaz and I have created a Modded Server for our own use on Minecraft 1.7.x and it's with a new hosting service called "Exile Servers". What we've done is take advantage of what they call their "Minecraft Cloud" service where we essentially buy an amount of memory and can put as many physical servers in that space as we can realistically fit. I'd been planning on shrinking and buffing the amount of memory in our personal server and using the leftovers for events for the community if people would be interested...

But another thing I could do is section of a chunk for a new Vanilla Server. This wouldn't

necessarily

require donations but they'd be appreciated and it would increase the amount of memory we would have to work with in general for events going on at the same time that Vanilla is online. If people are interested let me know, no other questions are up for discussion right now. No version talk, none of that; just look at the poll and let me know what you think.

I love this idea Exile Servers has. I'm totally buying one of those.

Update on servers

I've downloaded the worlds for both vanilla and modded, and am looking for a new host as I still have not heard anything from QualityNode. I seriously think something disastrous happened over there because I got a few emails about downsizing, and moving servers around, and other stuff, though none of that specifically should have affected ours. Regardless, the reason I chose them in the first place is because they offered chat support and near instant ticket response. That is no longer the case and it's time to move on. There are other hosts out there that are cheaper who will not make me wait 3 days to hear from them.

Unfortunately, embarrassed to say, because I just paid for the servers to QualityNode for the month of November, I can't buy another one until I get paid on Friday. I will be asking QN for a refund but my hopes are not high there.

Anyway, that's the story for now, and I'll let yall know more when I know more.

We'll see They did respond to my email in a few hours, but overall seem normal. The only thing that goes above and beyond is the mixed RAM option of the cloud. I like that. I hate having multiple invoices for different servers and things all discombobulated.

XD it sort of did. I had some trouble figuring out how to connect to the FTP to get things uploaded since this cloud server works a bit different, but I just figured it out and am uploading now.
