I thought we already established that I was a consumer not a supplier back when you guys were admining the server. At best, I am an Alpha tester (and not a very good one at that) who main skill lies in taking apart and critiquing what others have made rather than doing anything creative on my own. And responsibilty, nope. Hell, I haven't volunteered to help admin any of the servers and of all the people who play here, I'm the one most likely to be active and awake at the wee hours when the most of the rest of the folks are likely to be asleep. :D

Klaz is expecting that we will live entirely on Archimedes' Ships, which may be limited only because what we can put on a given ship is limited. We'll see what happens, I'll probably run a port town or something. We'll keep you all apprised.

False. I'm excepting that we'll live in at least a small island or something, with a port, and Archiships will be primary mode of travel. I'm hoping that we'll be more focused on things we can do with the ocean than ever before.

Actually, the idea of undersea mining does hold some interest to me (and by that, I don't mean setting up a quarry or something on the surface and letting it do the heavy lifting), but rather using Scuba gear or Enchantments to get to an airlock on the sea floor to mine the sea floor to bedrock.

The logistics would be interesting. Without warp books and instantaneous travel AND providing that your ship is the base away from port, setting up a semi-decent processing plant in a smallish airlock sounds like a decent challenge so all that you take back to the ship is the processed ores.

sounds like the same kind of mod author as better than wolves who advertises that it isn't compatible with anything because it changes every one of the game's base classes and refuses to cooperate with forge because the mod dev used to work for forge and had a big blowup and left.

That was an observation that BoP lets you control how much ocean. I personally don't like when I hit a place that can't be crossed on one jetpack charge, but it's just an opinion.
BTW I think they made a mistake in the "fill in" generator, because using it gave me a world that I hadn't found any oceans after traveling 5000 blocks.

There should always be a good balance. There's currently an ocean between my place and Osota's old place that was pretty expansive. The entire trip took about 2/3 of the potentia stored in my harness. I'd say that's about the limit of what I'd want to see for oceans. But a decent sized ocean should also be relatively easy to find. Like within 1000 blocks of spawn there should be one, and that'd be about appropriate I think.

Modded server crashed

Somebody placed a chunkloader from chicken chunks somewhere that is now ticking and crashing the server. I need to know who did it and where it is so we can get rid of it and get the server back up. Just PM me and let me know. Or dav. Otherwise I'm going to have to backup to this morning or yesterday. No idea when or where the loader may have been placed, but it needs to be removed.

Edit: I just disabled chickenchunks. You'll need to do this in your own pack. When you open up MultiMC, right click on the instance and choose "Edit Mods". In the list, look for CB - ChickenChunks (NOT core) and uncheck the box next to it. Save and then load up the pack.

^For those that don't use MultiMC, simply open the mods folder, find CB - ChickenChunks and change the name to have .disabled after the .jar.

They can still connect to the server if they have a mod the server doesn't have. The only thing that will happen when trying to place or craft anything from the nonexistent mod is that it won't work.

Hmm, lost the connection and can't get back in. But the server is replying to !players requests, so it appears it isn't completely dead. And it still lists me as logged in.
Given it's almost 1am, maybe this is a good time to stop for the night anyway.
