Board Games!

This forum is specifically for discussing non-Mafia games
(board, card, video, we're not picky)
.
Playing
such games should happen in the Mish Mash forum, of course.

So I made this post: http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=59417

Thanks for directing me here Reck.

TLDR; I am interested in playing board games via Vassal or whatever else.

I have
Steam Park
. I like it. It is a game I can play with my daughter (8 years old) but also keeps my interest. My husband doesn't like it because he doesn't like the randomness of the dice rolling. So, sadly, I don't get to play as much as I would like.

I think everything went relatively smoothly. I had a tear or two. It's been about 8 months so I forget.

Another light game which is currently in print-and-play beta is. It's particularly fun if you get into the storytelling.

Well crap, I would have suggested
Twilight Struggle
if I knew she was ex-military. It's a fun game.

Good buy.

I played 8 minute a few weeks ago and I wasn't real impressed. I think it may have been our board configuration though. There was a lot of rivers to cross so we remained pretty clustered. Maybe I need to give it another try.

We were looking to go to PAX east or the two new ones they do but BGG is one I would probably be interested in next year. Never been to a con though.

Oh...thats where I saw it. I just registered. I will read the rules and would probably play in a little while. I have to figure out dinner for the family first

I have this one. My husband loves it. It takes too long to me but I might be willing to play it online.

I taught my husband seasons and we played on Sunday. I did much better now that I understand. I went ahead and ordered it in hard copy.

Chamber, you're a programmer right? I hear
robot turtles
is fun for that age. My daughter's too old for it I think so I haven't tried it first hand but a coworker has it.

Speaking of my daughter, we played
Seasons
last night and while I was setting it up my daughter asked to play. I thought it would be too difficult for her (she is only 8 and, despite my best efforts, isn't that interested in board games). She not only played, she did a pretty good job! She finished second (I won, my husband was last). So that was pretty cool and gives me hope that I can mold her!
