Well, the thing that I like in Crash Landing and Ag.Skies is how the HQM mod directs the gameplay. Is there anything similar in Blood and Bones?

Yep. HQM is in Blood and Bones as well. It's a really, really well designed modpack. A lot of thought went in to it.

I messed with Magic Farm 2, I'm guessing to was the base Jaded Cat used to make AgSkies. I'll give Crash Landing a try and maybe Blood and Bones as well.

But there is a goal in just basic modded, just like life "The one with the most toys when he dies, wins."

Once I got used to exactly how Iguana Tweaks worked with Tinker's Construct, it became much, well not easier, but less frustrating.

I played Magic Farm 1. Found a thaumium pickaxe in a dungeon right next to spawn. Easy game, easy life.

Oh, and one thing I did do with Magic Farm 2, I dropped in Big Reactors, so I guess it really wasn't Magic Farm 2.

I was familiar with some of the mods, unfamiliar with others. The approach I use is to start with a vanilla-ish setup, explore the mods as I have need for them, and pick something to tunnel once safety and comfort is ensured.

Some of the "discoveries" I've made are definitely going into the set of mods I use in SSP, for example Tinker's Construct hammers, excavators, and lumber axes can replace/augment Railcraft tunnel bore and things like Treecapitator/Timber. And digital miner from Mekanism is replacing Buildcraft quarries as my favorite way to go from just barely enough ore to swimming in the stuff. :D

And definitely take the tour, it's amazing. Made me feel like a grasshopper and I've been playing almost exclusively modded since 1.3.x. But also inspiring me to new heights which is something I never got in SSP.

I'll hop on for a bit tonight, but unfortunately I probably won't be around much this weekend. Maybe on sunday.

I got some gifts from Oso and Osota to get me started. Osota hooked me up with a warp book and some pages, and Oso gave me some apiaries (and probably would have given me anything else I asked for too <3).

I set up shop in a meadow biome that seems like it should be a nice spot for tree and bee breeding. Near the meadow, I found a spruce village and was excited that there was a beekeeper there with apiaries. Then I was dismayed when I found out that apiaries are perma destroyed if not broken with a pickaxe D: Thats when Oso intervened and saved the day. I also found a bee chest with some bees and combs, a scoop, and a grafter. So I've got my forestry starter kit :D

Any rare bees from the chest? If there are enough of us into bee breeding we might want to exchange drones or excess princesses.

I'll probably delve into genetics machines eventually. If anyone doesn't want to go in that direction and has excess drones cluttering up storage, just give a shout or drop them off. :D

I don't remember what they were exactly but I don't think they were rare. Some kind of icy/frozen bees I think.

So where is everyone on the server? I walked around a bit and only found 1 place in a cherry blossom biome, and I only found osota and oso because they provided warps for me.

Also, whats a good trajectory to follow to go from "mining with a wooden pickaxe" to "pretty much having unlimited, automated resources and energy" in this modpack, and about how long should it take?

Rhi - Dav is directly east of spawn, and I'm a little farther east. If you hit the volcano biome, go north and you'll find my place.

You should spawn with a book from Tinker's Construct. My advice would be to start with Tinkers :) For power, mekanism is the easiest and best to start with. easily upgradeable once you get some resources going, has the diginiminer and the ultimate processing items (can up to 5x ores!)

About how long should it take? Hmm... well.. if you just go straight to mining, rather than prettifying shelter, maybe a few hours or so to get from nothing to basic processing and intro power.

Look up aroma1997 in NEI as well and make the portal. dav, oso and I have one. iLooks like stone bricks with bright cyan molding. It leads to the mining dimension that is eternal day and mob-free :P

edit: it's also super flat but has caves and stuff!
