Put your FTB Mafiacraft pack into a multiMC instance and run it. That's what I did. Works wonders for me, and cuts down on lag.

My two cents:

The world we're in now NEEDS to be reset because of existing things; however, as Klaz said, it hasn't happened lately, so it's not top priority. What I would LOVE to see happen is Mafiacraft 2.0 in minecraft 1.6.2. Just from watching the Forgecraft 2 series Direwolf puts out, and seeing what all the mod developers are doing for 1.6.2 makes me SO anxious about it.

FTB Ultimate is a no-go for reasons M explained. I'd likely not play either.

M, is that trick you learned with the ender chests possible in Mafiacraft? I don't see why not, and I think it'd be a good idea for those who have stuff they want to carry over.

2.0 is a definitely want in my book, though. As it stands right now, and many mod developers of the mods we use agree with me on this, the current versions of the mods we have are bugged and don't like to work together. Two that come to mind are forestry and MPS.

Those are four mods I was going to include in the "additions" i was talking about previously, Dappy. AE HAS had some problems recently, but I think it's more or less just AE not liking SecretRooms (which I despise anyway). EE3 is a VERY important mod for me. IMO: There is no reason CC SHOULDN'T be included, as it adds no world gen and has never had any kind of problems. MFRL is a really good source of a lot of different things, too.

I always use Skype to chat when I'm on a private server that I play on. It gives a feeling of connectivity, even when you're doing your own thing.

A few of us use skype sometimes. Myself, Blake, Mist(sometimes), M(when he feels like it), so I wouldn't be opposed to it.
Also, if it helps, you can download optifine and turned all the advanced features off. Makes it run much faster. :3

In lieu of recent events, I felt it necessary to ask Rhinox to be co-admin with him, so that someone can and will be around at most all times for anything that needed to be done/said/etc.

He agreed, and so it was.

I don't want to know what mods you guys want. I want to know what mods you will make you guys refrain from playing.
It is likely that a map reset will happen. When I say "likely" I mean the map reset will happen, we just don't know when.

The mods that are put into the pack will be determined by Rhinox and I; however, we won't put in mods that will make people not play. I've already discussed this with some of you, but I want everyone's opinions. Either tomorrow or this weekend I will list the mods that are absolutely staying and mods that people have stated they do not want in the pack. From there, Rhinox and I will form a new modpack.

We <3 you guys and want you to all have fun, but we don't want this to die out in another month. We also want to minimize the problems to few/none, though we know that it's very unlikely no problems will occur.

I will say that, for now, Applied Energistics seems to be out of question, as does SecretRooms unless Rhinox has changed his mind on that.
I've heard that some refuse to play if IC2 is included without GregTech. I'm iffy on this myself, because Gregorius

is a pompous bastard

makes things way more complicated than they need to be.

As it stands right now, Tinkers Construct is definitely in. Twilight Forest is also in, unless anyone has qualms about that. Forestry is in, of course. We will likely be including MagicBees in as well, because it no longer requires Thaumcraft.

We will take into consideration mod requests, but do note that just because you request a mod does not mean the mod will be added.

Fair enough. I wasn't aware of the problems at Clamcastle -- sounds like a pretty weird issue. However, it also sounds like AE is taking the blame for this one simply because it's been implicated in previous problems. For what it's worth, I've been doing a lot with AE, including pretty much all of the advanced stuff, and having it interact with many different mods, with no problems whatsoever.

Since we're heading for a reset anyway, would anyone mind explaining to me what happened at Maru's place in the desert? It's blown to pieces (not so weird) but there's bedrock all over the surface nearby! WTF?! :-S

Dav, that just shows how long it's been since you logged on - the Donkey (not Horse) hasn't been in that Ravine for at least a couple weeks. The second to last time I was on I finishing mining what I wanted from that Ravine and got myself and the Donkey out (the only reason it was chillin' there was cuz I logged there when I was about to begin a mining trip). Yes we will be updating to a new(er)/(est) version as they come out, as long as I know nothing will break beforehand, but the Op both implied that (I thought?) and showed what we were on 1.6.1. It is NOT the most recently released version however: 1.6.2 was out about a month ago, I've just needed an excuse to update us. :3 I'll most likely be doing that right now.

Really, low-level enchants on iron gear, a power I bow with a decent stock of arrows, a water bucket in case you attract endermen, food, and blocks should be enough.

Actually, unless something has changed recently, all you need is full leather armor and the ender dragon can't hurt you. (Not that you'd want to actually go to the end with leather armor and try to fight endermen, but meh).

Also- Skyblock will be hosted tonight at 6 PM or whenever everyone can be here to do it.
Same goes for every weeknight.
Every weekend I'll host a different event (ie. Murderhoop, Walls, maybe a co-op adventure map, etc), though choice is ultimately yours though. The same event will not be run two weeks in a row or in the same month. I have a lot of maps that I want to run that I've never played myself, so I think this would be a good idea for everyone, where no one has the advantage, etc. etc.

EE3 and Tinkers are crazy experimental developer builds, which is why I'm so surprised it worked.

Be VERY careful with Chunkloaders, as they are incredibly fucky at the moment.

Maru- I subscribed to soaryn on twitch. All his subs get early access to xycraft and a sub server. I also play with EddieRuckus now, too.

So I had this idea. If I could get I server up, and maybe a private FTB pack, would anyone be interested in some PvP games using Tinkers Construct with the "no vanilla tools" option turned on, and maybe just a few small other mods? I think it would make a really interesting game, especially in a decently large world.

If we do this, rapiers should not be allowed.
Because they are OP.

It features 1.6.4 mods like TC4, Ars Magica 2, and Magical Crops as well as a few others that we all know and love. It will NOT be open 24/7, as people want to play the vanilla server too. I'll likely try to balance the two; however, please note that this is a NON Tech mod, meaning no IC2, no Buildcraft, Forestry or anything of the sort.

For the skeptics. Ars Magica 2 is nothing like it used to be and is far more balanced. The mobs are not impossible anymore and there isn't much worldgen at all.
So, the option is there and I'd love to play with some people.

To join us:

1. Download the FTB launcher and update it if necessary.
2. Select the Direwolf20 mudpack for 1.6.4 and click launch to download the pack. Follow any prompts given until Minecraft launches, then exit the game to go back to the launcher.
3. Download DartCraft version 0.2.13 and save it to FTB/Direwolf20_1_6_4/minecraft/mods

You only have to do this once to set the pack up. Once done, you are ready to play. Send me a PM with your username for whitelisting (because I don't have the old one).

Launch Minecraft from FTB and use the following IP to connect to the server:

This is the only thing I'm going to be a dick about. Everything else you have free reign.

You need to register your ages.

That means when you

make

one, send me a PM, email, text message, etc, with the AGE NUMBER.

Each person is allowed 2 registered ages - no more.

If you wish to donate an age to the server or share it with everyone, that's fine; I'll allow up to 3 "shared server ages" that would not count as your own, but it has to serve a good purpose. I'll be doing mass age clean-up every Sunday, and any age not registered with me goes bye-bye without warning. (So if you want to experiment and make a bunch of crap ages, that's fine, but they'll be gone before the week is out unless you choose to register it in place of one of your others.)

Rules:
1) Don't be a jerk.
2) Register your Mystcraft ages.

Download optifinefml.7z

Follow these steps:
1. Make a copy of the OptiFine jar file you just downloaded.
2. Open optifinefml.7z and the OptiFine jar in an archive program (7-Zip or WinRAR or WinZip).
3. Copy the contents of optifinefml.7z into the OptiFine jar.
4. Close archive program.
5. Copy the OptiFine jar file to FTB/Direwolf20_1_6_4/minecraft/mods

I've given up on the dream of another vanilla server like we used to have when I started playing. If there are enough people interested I'd certainly give it a look but I'm done advocating for it. I just want to play on an active server, otherwise its not really worth playing.

Not sure where to read up on all the drama Lex is talking about, but yeah - doesn't even look like Forge is going to be anywhere close to a 1.8 release for a long time so I'm not sure how that's possible. For what it's worth, as a corollary, I wouldn't bother installing mods without Forge; it's not worth it.

On the bright side, I believe he's going to work in the FMP API into forge itself, if I remember an old Forgecraft conversation correctly.

In all seriousness, though, that is a TON of money. I'm not too worried about them buying it though. I mean...it can't be all that bad, right? Perhaps it'll improve. Maybe Microsoft has some hidden plan to bring more people into minecraft. I read a post on (the onion?) or something like that the other day that basically said even if Microsoft does buy it, minecraft as we know it at this very moment, the one we're all playing right now, will not change and even in the near future, it won't change, if it ever changes at all.

Those are thaumcraft pechs. you can trade with them (similar to villagers, but they require things with lucrum (like gold) and give you dungeon loot in return).
