It's just the same game over and over again, which is why I have a problem with Munchkin now. Every game plays out the same, or at least feels like it.jdodge1019: hasjghsalghsakljghs is from vermont

Disagree. We had a game with two 13 year olds who don't play boardgames that was hilariously fun. Maybe it's kid-dependent?-

IME, which is extensive, they love it. One of our best one night/ resistance players is 9.-

most of the kids love the traitor games, usually more than the adults do.-

xtoph, if there are consistently only 5 of you, I suggest Legendary (particularly if you guys like Marvel / the recent Marvel movies). CAN YOU TELL I AM A FANBOY YET.
Reck informed us via facebook that the next expansion is Guardians of the Galaxy, which I am just obscenely excited for. >_>
ALSO Glork discovered that they came up with a companion game of sorts called Legendary Villains (I think), which is the same format rules, but you play as the villains, and the heroes are NPCs. They could (probably?) conceivably all be played together if you don't mind the flavor getting all sideways and wacky.Current Avatar: Kronk. Duh.-

I have more limited experience than sthar8, but I"ve seen traitorous concepts go both ways. The Resistance and Werewolves of Millers' Hollow was one of my first gaming purchases, but they NEVER gets played because my group hates traitorous concepts. However, this past New Year's Eve we were at a board game store party and we sat next to a table playing Bang!, there were some children involved and they seemed to be having a blast. Of course, Bang!s "traitor" element is revealed pretty early on, but it has joined Resistance and Werewolves in their disuse because of it.There will be no kisses tonight

Chev SO's tend to hate traitor games just about as often as kids like them.-

Yeah, they can (there's a bit in the manual for mixing/matching some of the weirdness.) I'm gonna pick up the villains edition I think, instead of the regular one to start with. Just because it's a bit newer and playing with villains is kinda cool. I think it was said somewhere they'll alternate expansions for them, too.
Edit: And the science fiction expansion is my favourite smash up expansion, Cyber apes, shapeshifters and time travellers are really cool, and spies are alright so it's super fun to play with.are you thinking of me when you're with somebody else?-

Ezren and Valeros are going to face the final scenario in Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Rise of the Runelords – Spires of Xin-Shalast Adventure Deck tonight. It's a little bittersweet."When playing a game, the goal is to win, but it is the goal that is important, not the winning." -Reiner Knizia

Would people be interested in organising a game of Battlestar Galactica on Vassal some time soon? I've just downloaded the engine and I'm pretty much always up for a game, plus got a few good BST afternoons/evenings free over the next few weeks.
If you fancy it, there's a good instructional video here on how to play on Vassal (note: not how to play the game, just how to work it on the engine) and then we can fire up Skype for voice chat during it.
Supposedly you need a physical copy of the game and any expansions you're using to play on Vassal but the method it claims enforces this rule (text blanked out on Loyalty cards) doesn't seem to apply on the latest version so that may not be the case. Hopefully it's possible to play without, in that case, but maybe someone knows another problem that might come from doing that.
Don't mind any level of experience and happy to teach if necessary though I'm keen to use some expansions (namely Pegasus and the shiny Daybreak box that should be making its way to me later this week).#greenshirtthursdays-

AbsolutelyOne time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.-

Over the past week, I had the chance to try Istanbul, Concordia, and Splendor. All are fabulous games. I especially can't wait to try Concordia again, and I've purchased it and Splendor."When playing a game, the goal is to win, but it is the goal that is important, not the winning." -Reiner Knizia
