Mini 444 - Reverse Mafia Vanilla (Stopped)

Last time we just went about doing random things and eventually revived a couple of players, one of them (annoyingly, me) mostly on the basis of a Cop claim. Of course, the Cop turned out to be insane and then lost the game, which was rather annoying and bastardish, which is probably why this is a Vanilla game.

Day 2, the first real Day, the mod installed Karma, a pseudo-voting thing for the players in limbo. It would probably be a good idea to use it Day 1 as well.

As for the rest, funnily enough, I've actually went over Voting Patterns for the earlier Reverse Mafia for a game with a comparable voting thing, so that may prove to be helpful.



People will offer themselves up to be revived. That's how the game moves on. Yossy and yellowbounder, who were in the original game (like me) should be able to remember it.

If someone is thinking along the same lines as me, and I know I am town, it makes me feel "more comfortable" with them. I think that makes sense.

Could you point me at the specific things you agree with? Because from what I'm reading from him, his statements are mostly basic knowledge of the Reverse setup and how it is played.

Anyway, my two main candidates for revival are Velly and Yellowbounder. Velly because I think his posting so far is very solid and townish. His points about self-voting for example are quite strong. Yellowbounder because his play is strong and, if my memory is serving me well, pretty much a 180 degree turn from the first Reverse, in which he was very insignificant.

As for you, Leeboy, I like your proactivity (must come in handy at that bachelor party >.> (congrats with that, by the way)), but I'm not all that comfortable with you yet. I still don't see why I should be tripping over myself voting Yossy.

Some decent posts from logictitus. That's about it as far as the good goes. Scopeyboy, get your game together, man. Noone's going to revive you if you act like that. I think Dean's posting is very weak. A lot of non-content posts, which I despise.

Actually, Patrick, the game balance is probably better for us this way than it was last time. We outright lost the game Day 2 due to an Insane Cop.

@zindaras: dont you think it is kind of harsh to give me bad Karma just because you don't think I've given much content. Most of the post's so far have not had much content other than conversations about how to proceed in this game.

I don't really have any ideal how to proceed in this game which is why I havnet posted that much.

You've posted quite a bit, but never much content. There's the whole 4 scum thing, saying relph=scum, very quick to vote Yossy but apparently you don't like LML. I think Velly's town, so your statement that he isn't doesn't score points with me either.

Also, karma isn't really that big a deal, you know. It doesn't really say anything, especially for you at the moment, since it doesn't look like you're going to be revived anytime soon.


Looking at it, it would seem that LML, Yossy, Vel-Rahn Koon, logictitus, yellowbounder and I are the most named candidates for revival. We should discuss those candidates and narrow the field. I'd like you all to weigh in on them all.

I don't like the ideal of veriving yellowbounder either. Nothing specific he just doesn't sit right with me. You wanting him and you revived has me suspecting both of you.

I have said exactly one time that I think Yellowbounder is a good revival candidate. I have been just as strong on him as I have been on Velly, yet you do not go as far to suggest that I am pushing him, while I have done exactly the same with him. Also, where exactly am I pushing him? I give him good karma and say he's a good revival candidate (something many others have done). If I'd be pushing him, I'd go around asking people "Why aren't you voting yellowbounder?".

Also, I find it somewhat odd/amusing that you think so differently about Yos/LML, who according to you have also been pushing each other.

Dude, I've probably sparked more discussion and tried to get this game running more than anyone else in this game. Not only that, I'm a revival possibility supported by quite a few people. I see no reason why a self-vote is inappropriate here, especially as you have ignored both K-Scope's and Yosarian's self-vote.

I think Delly died. I'm going to contact MeMe about this game again and hope the same thing happens as last time (Delly shows up before MeMe even responds to my PM). I think the easiest solution would be for someone else to take over modding. Luckily, it's just a Vanilla game, so it should be possible.

Someone told me who the scum were, but I've already forgotten, because I'm lazy like that.

I liked the setup, but I think the fact that it was entirely vanilla made it less interesting and somewhat unbalanced. The fact that it takes a long time before we even get to know one player's alignment also influences the game quite heavily.

I think the solution is to give everyone roles, or even to make it a Smalltown game, with role distributions already known. That would probably reduce the interest problem. I also think something would have to be done about the balance in general. I think it is very difficult for town to win a Reverse game, since they've pretty much lost if they revive one scumbag in the first three revives (as they're in LyLo from that point onwards).

I intend to host a Reverse Mafia in the future with more interesting roles and probably some rule-changes to make it more interesting.
