Ah, Glork. Just over three years ago, in a Religious Studies course I was taking, our professor decided that for our second exam (or paper.... I forget, now), he wanted us to make up completely fictional pseudonyms because he felt he had a bias towards/against certain students. In an effort to make his grading completely objective, he requested that we submit our papers separately from the rest of the exam under these pseudonyms. For some reason, the sound "glork" was the first thing that popped into my head. I stared at it for a few second before deciding that "Glork" was a little bland, so I added "the Invader" at the end of it. Glork the Invader. I liked it. Eventually it got shortened to just "Glork" anyway (though my AIM handle remains the full version), but some of my friends still use Glork as a nickname for me.

ChannelDelibird has a long and in parts boring history, so here is the concise version. I used to spend a lot of time on a Pokemon forum, and in a comedy competition we were running I entered a script for a sketch based on a Pokemon TV channel. I was looking for a name for it, so I just picked a random Pokemon that I thought was cool - it ended up being Delibird. Hence, Channel Delibird. I didn't plan to use it again, but I later entered a fan fiction competition and decided to use a TV setting again - so I remembered the name and used it again. I began to use it more and more, and so when the forum was deleted from its old provider and had to be set up on a different service, I needed a definite username (on the previous forum you could change your display name), so I went for the thing that most people on there would recognise me for. So Channel Delibird it was. I started using that on all forums I registered on, until I got here. Somewhere along the line I encountered a forum where I couldn't have a space in my name, so it became ChannelDelibird, which stuck.

Haha! I've told this story a few times:

Ok, so we have Battle for Middle-Earth II, a Lord of the Rings RTS. Within that game, you can create your own hero. I created a wizard (by the name of Voldemort) that had a bunch of cool powers. My favorite by far was the Mighty Fireball power. Then, I went to http://www.bfme2.heavengames.com. I had trouble thinking of a screenname, so I eventually used the name of my favorite power. This made sense because that site discusses Battle For Middle-Earth. So that just pretty much stuck and I use it (or a slight variation) for all my screennames.

That scummy kitten in the avatar is now a three year old flame point siamese named Mr. Buddy Lee. He plays fetch, talks a lot, naps on my desk in front of my monitor every time I'm online, and sleeps wrapped around my head.

when i was a kid my parents got me a personalized skateboard that said "Flyin' Brian", when i was thinking of a name for this board, i remembered that, and knowing the degree of deception necessary to be successful, decided to drop the F, and just have Lyin' Brian... i don't remember why, but that obviously didn't work, so i modified it slightly to the present LyingBrian... it still kinda rhymes, and gets me into trouble during the earlier parts of D1... (well his username is
Lying
Brian, so he MUST be LYING!!!

I put a whole lot of thought when I made this name up about a year ago for a MMORPG (Everquest 2, I think), see miztef's wiki for the reasons I have this username.

I tried copy-pasting it, but it turned out all gibberized, so just check out the wiki :P

CDB - You didn't happen to go by this name at some point at Fire Emblem Planet, did you?

I came up with my name because I needed something distinctive. It's a slight play on some form of the word "oboe" in another language (which one? I forget. I think "hautboy" was how it originally carried over to English from the French "hautbois" or something), and you'd have to be pretty slow on the uptake to miss the joke in my presentation of the name.
I'm less likely to check MS on weekends than on weekdays. If I've disappeared on a weekend, it's normal.

Limited access for a week or so. I can read and post, but don't expect a lot.

The bird part of my username was because I had an interest in flying type pokemon (though I don't remember why I chose bird and not flying or something like that); and the ones because I thought just bird would be taken when I signed up on my first forum.
