im definately against no lynch. second day our chances of catching the main vampire are the same as first day, and chances are we wont be able to lynch any of the vampires, unless they screw up big time. meh, our best bet is to spend as much time on day 1 as possible. the problem i see that might come up is the game becoming stagnant.I play the games rul gud.-

If I remember correctly, there was the first post, where he advocated it, then it was shot down, then he unvoted but said it could still be viable. I dont think he was pressuring it that much at all. I'm pretty sure he was just thinking "mislynch = bad" and suggested it. If there were further posts about it (which got lost), please enlighten us more than saying "he said he wanted no lynch, lets lynch 'em"I play the games rul gud.-

phoebus, i never started to build a case against you. Im just saying that your vote is poorly placed and slightly suspicious. did i fos you or vote you? no. stop being so defensive. My point is it seems like aude just thought that mislynching always meant bad, and probably didnt know what a no lynch would result in.I play the games rul gud.-

I dont see why you dont want a bandwagon. Bandwagons = discussion. theyre only bad if some idot puts them in range of a quicklynch. That being said, I dont think kill schmittys post was that suspicious. It seems to me like he was just asking people to post their suspicions, which isnt that bad an idea. Not having any ideas of your own I dont like, however.I play the games rul gud.-

I find it pretty suspicious that you dont care AT ALL who we lynch. I'm pretty sure any protown player here will have at least some suspicions for someone.Zchinque wrote:I still think this day is unlikely to get us anywhere but nowhere.
To be honest, I'd be up for almost any lynch that isn't on myself.
(And now I wait)
Anyways, shanba, when youre doing the quote tags, the name of the person youre quoting has to be in quotations -->[b wrote:"[/b]Aude"], notAude wrote:. At least I believe that was the problem with those tags.I play the games rul gud.-

Pheobus has been lurking in plain sight for some time now. When you look back at his posts, you see him attack aude on the NO Lynch point way past its relevant, then when I call him on it he became pretty defensive IMO. Since then he's had about 2 useful posts (both still talking about the NL) and about 5-10 useless 1 sentance or even one word posts with absolutely no use, or no relevance.I play the games rul gud.-

I feel as if Pheobus's lurking in plain sight is the best lead we're going to get. I think we need to at least lynch someone, and if we're going to, pheobus is probably our best bet.
Pheobus: theres a difference between lurking and lurking in plain sight. lurking is not posting. lurking is posting, but nothing of value to the game. I feel that lurking in plain sight is a much scummier thing to do then lurking.I play the games rul gud.-

so, I havent actually left yet. I need to respond to this though.
Part One of the Pheobus Case:
Pheobus's last five posts before I called him on lurking in plain sight. In case you dont know pheobus, there is a difference between regular lurking and lurking in plain sight. Lurking in plain sight is being active, but not posting anything of content. I think you fit the bill.
Phoebus wrote:and if the active people have already spoken their mind, where do we get new stuff from?Phoebus wrote:You're not going to get too far if you ask questions only of those who are active...Phoebus wrote:back and *yawn*Phoebus wrote:back sometime wednesday
The post directly above is from May 12th. The last time you posted anything of worth was over 10 days ago.Phoebus wrote:
I find this point appealing but I would still rather take a chance on getting the scumlynch and a day 1 victory.Aude omnia wrote:I don't think enough people realize that if we mislynch, that's 2 townsfolk lost-- 1 to death and 1 to the vampire.
If that doesn't work, there are always connections to work on.
I will not switch back to aude yet since his reasoning is slightly appealing but his insistence is rather appalling. In my view, it does not help that he was willing to to vote someone else and then switched back.
With such (apparently) well thought out rules, I'd stick to my guns about a NL in your place. In the same way, I am sticking against a NL at this time.
Anyways, youre still not posting any new content, because this is something you already said in the past. You are suspicious of Aude because he has differing opinions about No Lynches than you. WE GET IT.
Lets keep going backwards shall we?
Phoebus wrote:Exams.

this is due to aude's current posts + yesterday's weird posts yesterday (you know what i mean)
what exactly do you mean by worried? You are very vague.Phoebus wrote:i'd be worried about that post ^^^ if the game didn't state there was no informed minority at this point in time...

Icky WIFOM fodder.
posts content, but only after I attack you. Similar to whats happening now, huh?Phoebus wrote:you just seem bent on misrepresenting my intentions.
IIRC, he mentioned/defended his position at least on three occasions before the crash.
I concede that he has called it "poorly thought out" now but apart from that, he hasn't done anything else, (nor has anyone else for that matter) for me to consider removing my vote.
there is no such thing as a mislynch today. who're you going to out? The head vampire at best.
now you seem to be using the lack of posts (i.e. the ones lost in the post) to build a tenuous "case" against me.
where is this coming from?
Votes based off of things we have no record of anymore.Phoebus wrote:I can't resurrect posts lost in the crash. Sorry.
If the loss starts a new timeline for you, with nothing committed to memory, I can't help you.
My vote is based on what I remember.
Attacks Aude for No Lynch. Kind of a one trick pony.Phoebus wrote:because he keeps suggesting that we no lynch and give the vamp a freebie.
something he himself has admitted to being a "poorly thought out suggestion"
well, that admission does not count for much in my book, given his prior insistence about the idea. for now, that's as good as any lead as far as i see.
Piggy backs on my point, and points out the obvious, which is stated in the game rules.Phoebus wrote:Adding to what Elias said - we still need to find only the leader. The main post seems to suggest that catching him is the key as all others might die with him.
Since vampires seem to be used as cult with a mafia flavour, this is true of a fair number of cults. Get the leader, destroy the cult.
So lynch today - if it's the leader. Game over. Excellent.
Tomorrow, look for weird behaviour. Defensiveness and even if we find one converted vampire, his reactions and playing off other players should give us clues towards who the head honcho is.
nothing wrong with this post, I guess.Phoebus wrote:waste time - use time effectively - there's a difference.
with "wasting", especially after the post loss, we run the risk of fostering apathy.
take our time, yes. waste it? no.
attacks audePhoebus wrote:I think I graduated from that ^^ to aude omnia
unvote: yesterdays ; vote: aude omnia
seems to really want people to vote fast. Lynch hungry? Id like an explanation.Phoebus wrote:vote: yesterdays
Why are you posting and not voting? What good is your "input" at this point in time?
Do you think we care what your RNG says if you're not going to act on it?
Put out or shut up!
Im not gonna take this back into the random voting stage, but Pheobus really hasnt done much this game at all, unless under suspicion.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Part Two of the Pheobus case
This is pretty short. Youve only voted for two people (excluding random voting) and youve hopped back and forth between them about 3 times. Kind of suspicious.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Part Three of the Pheobus Case:
Your attack on me is completely dumb. First, you claim that you have reasons for your votes that you already outlined. The most youve come up with in terms of reasons are "i dont like his posts" and "no lynch is bad".
Then you go on to say that aude and Yesterdays are your only suspects. This is dumb. Why would any protown player only focus on two players, on day 1? A protown player would keep his eyes open to all players.
The next parts my favorite. You claim Im a hypocrit for calling you a plain-sight-lurker, because Ive been doing the same thing. You dont seem to grasp what Im accusing you of. Im not accusing you of not posting, Im accusing you of contentless posting. Im not using your presence to persecute you, Im using your lack of content to oust you.
"what else to say" section:
first, if youve been around, why havent you been posting more than a sentance?
Second, you have been voting. On and off for the same two people all game. That makes me more suspicious, not less.
Third, You have aired suspicions, but your reasons are nearly nonexistent, or vague to the point that no one understands them exactly.
Logging in is irrelevant to my point.
I DIDNT SAY YOU WERE LURKING IN THE TRADITIONAL SENSE, I SAID LURKING IN PLAIN SIGHT. There is a large difference.
End of Pheobus Case-------------------------------------------------------
Now, Im suspicious of scotmany as well, mainly because he was so quick to agree with my case, then so quick to back down in the face of a defense. Seems like he was hoping Pheobus didnt get back in time to defend himself, or something. Looks like backpeddling to me.
Anyways, sorry for the long as hell post, andmod, any chance of a deadline extension, now that there is conversation?I play the games rul gud.-

Well, scot, the thing thats the problem is you did a turn around so soon after pheobus's defense, which pinged my scumdar. I guess your right that its only kind of scummy, giving the current situation. I dont think that my attack warranted an fos, especially with this little inconsistency:scotmany12 wrote: Some of his posts were not needed, but he has helped out at points.you whole attack on him warrants a FoS. Stupid me was stupid enough to listen to you.FoS: Elias
(bolding mine)scotmany12 wrote:What you are saying is true Elias, but he also hasn't been lurking throughout the whole game.
These two posts just seem to clash. I also just did an entire analysis of Pheobus's posts to find about 2-3 actual posts of content in there. Though the fact that youre not just going along with the pheobus wagon gives me a town vibe, Im not getting into the possible WIFOM intention to only appear protown by doing that, since scum has all the time in the world in this game.
Waiting for the response from Pheobus. Glad to finally have some conversation.I play the games rul gud.-

@ scot: My latest post documented every post consecutively starting right after random voting stage going up until my recent attacks. Do you still feel my attack was unwarranted, or does it still seem farfetched?
@Snich: Im not sure why ive overreacted. What Im doing is analyzing posts, considering peoples points and responding to them. Its called discussion, something that many players in this game are not good at. Anyways, my attack was based on his 360 turn, rather then the fact that he attacked me. If he hadnt agreed with me before fosing me, I wouldnt have found it too suspicious.I play the games rul gud.-

Stop appealing to emotion:
In response to the end of your post.
1) You yourself have said that there is almost nothing to pick up on in most players. All reasons at this point are tenuous at best, and attacking me on this point is hypocritical.
2) I call your attack on me (NOT YOU) dumb, and I only do that once.
3) I always use sarcasm. It's nothing personal.
4) Huh? Refer to point 1.
5) Im not painting you a villain. I'm casting suspicions on you. Also, refer to point 1.
Now, back to your actual responses to my case:
Part 1:
You have not outlined your suspicions. You've said that you are suspicious of certain people because you dont like their posts, but youre not giving any specific examples. I asked you for some in my case, but you seem to have missed that part.
Part 2:
The reason im suspicious is mainly because you had just been switiching back and forth between them, and only them. If theres no discussion, put a random pressure vote on someone and start some. Thats what my vote was, and it actually started the game going again.
Part 3:
See beginning of post.
Im not taking my vote off. I think youre scum. However, I will lay off attacking you in the interest of pursuing others.I play the games rul gud.-

um...
I still have not ever called you dumb. I called your attack dumb. There is a difference, seeing as an intelligent person could easily have a dumb idea.
You say that youre "appealing to reason" and what more you should do. Let me tell you.
1) Actually give reasons for your suspicions being on the people you were suspicious of before. As you can see from my PBP, you gave a vague "i dont like their posts" kind of reason, but you were never specific enough that the person could defend themselves. Actually cite some examples.
2) Instead of attacking me for tenuous reasons (although you yourself said that theres nothing to go off in this game) how about doing what I did? Just applying some pressure somewhere, and seeing what happens. The conversation between you and me is the most active discussion so far this game.
Anyways, my top suspects are Pheobus, then scotmany (for lack of anyone better). If Pheobus comes up town, at least the town will have a good read on me which is a good thing.I play the games rul gud.-

I think the last sentance is protown because if I'm recruited to vampires the way I play may end up slightly different. I want the town to have a read on me so that if im recruited, the difference will be noticable.
Im again confused by the way you go back and forth on my case. First you agreed, then you FOSd me for it, now youre back to agreeing with it (not completely), or so it would seem. This is becoming increasingly suspicious to me. Anyways, my main point is that most of pheobus's posts dont contribute anything to the conversation, or are vague. As I showed, this is true. The question of whether he was "actve lurking" or not is moot.
If Pheobus can actually provide some decent reasons for his suspicions being on those two people earlier, besides "i dont like their posts", I may consider taking my vote off.I play the games rul gud.-

Damn.
Im not in favor of just ending the game. Though it will be hard to find replacements. I think we should extend deadline so we can mass prod, and if there is no response, then replace. If there is a response, i think we'll be forced to continue the game to deadline and hope for more activity after a lynch.I play the games rul gud.-

I dont know if i want to lynch an inactive when I have scumtells against two active players. Obviously its more than possible that the vampire is among the inactives, but the vampires grow stronger every time we mislynch. I really wish we didnt have this deadline looming over our shoulders, forcing us to make a misguided decision.I play the games rul gud.-

Hmm. The most townish player in my mind is probably shanba currently. Im still suspicicious of Pheobus, but not as much. I dislike how he went straight to agreeing with shanba though. Mainly the scum tell that I feel is most important in this game is wishy-washyness. The two biggests culprits are scot, and as pointed out by shanba, snich. Im going to reread some, but those two are my prime suspects right now.I play the games rul gud.-

I never said you were my prime suspect. I said you were guilty of wishy-washiness. You had 3 posts about my case, and they went back and forth on your opinion of it, which I found suspicious. As for the active lurking thing, the main reason I attacked Pheobus because Pheobus was actually here, and attacking him would start conversation. I'll have to check out snichs posts.I play the games rul gud.-
