Divekick is hilarious.

Super Smash Bros Melee is a great fighting game for people who normally don't like fighting games, great competitive community too, noob friendly. No online play though.

Street Fighter IV has pretty good online play and it's combos aren't too complicated so it's one of the more noob friendly fighting games I've played.

Haven't played too much else extensively.

I'm a gameplay programmer, so I mostly worked on weapons, movement, and ability behavior. Basically what makes the game fun!

Luckily I'm not an artist since I'd just make everything nice and blocky.
