evidently some of my 64 carts are worth some money, so I'm gonna go sell a few and buy new ones. no real desire to play Harvest Moon on the original console (or really ever again) so this seems like good move.

if you're interested in selling let me know what ones, i can probably give you a better deal on them (i want to start building an N64 collection to complement my SNES one) than you'd get selling to a dealer

it looks more interesting to me than terraria was buut i couldn't stay interested in terraria at all so it might still not be different enough for me to get a lot out of it


in other things i just beat fire emblem awakening
was stuck on the second to last level for a while before getting through it without losing anyone, then just barely got through the final bosses wall of defense with only 2 damage to spare to kill him after getting lucky with lucina attacking with tiki on both of her attacks (i did lose vaike when he was distracting all the lower left/upper left dudes so nobody else would die but i figured the last level is when its okay to finally let sacrifices happen)

and then as the final dialogue happens with

your created character dying and telling everyone that his last thoughts are of them

the 3ds shuts off because its out of power.

and now i feel conflicted between irritated that i have to beat it again to see it and amused that the screen going black there actually would make sense as a smash cut ending if the developers had the sheer balls to do it even though it would go against the fire emblem thing of friendship bonds bonds friends bonds friends and not give an epilogue to all the other characters you've been fighting with the whole time

I have a little under 10 hours of Tales of Xillia logged and it's pretty fun.

Pros:
- awesome battle system
- characters are pretty fun battle-wise. started using mostly Jude, tried Alvin and just can't get the hang of him,

love

Milla though. haven't played as Elize yet.
- level-up system reminds me of the FFX sphere grid
- leveling up shops is a neat idea.
- everything looks amazing

Cons:
- people taking a few seconds to load in at some towns is slightly annoying but not too bad.
- don't feel too interested in the story (yet); isn't drawing me in as much as Symphonia did
- item limit caps that I don't remember existing are annoying. I barely ever use a Life Bottle and sell like 5-10 per town but I just keep finding them and then not being able to get more from chests (also, the 1x limit for food)

aside from the "oh hey now that we're super close to the end this scene that you never saw has actually been Dafoe's primary motivation throughout the whole game and is going to drive the ending sequence"

and the "yeah our plot revolves around condensers and how they're so rare and super tough to make with sciencey bullshit except for the Navajo who can just magic them into existence because they're a mystical people also magic exists in this world too apparently we'll never bring that up again though"

not exactly. There are no "countries". Basically you control a set of land that is required to hold the title of emperor of that empire (take germany be holy roman emperor).

Also, watched 3 hours of tutorials and have concluded CKII is best game ever. I'm glad I got my wife as a Norwegian because they came in handy to buttfuck some small counties.

I've been playing CiV lately since picking up BNW, and is it just me, or does the new expansion make the game a lot easier? Trade Routes seem to be broken in favor of the player, so far.

You mean with the caravans? It does make it easier to balance early on when you're struggling to build an economy. Helps me anyway as I have a tendency to expand way too fast.
