That was a rotten gambit which had better chance of outing town than scum. The vote is for plain, anti-town play.

No, putting a player into a panic is NOT always good. The whole reason that bandwagons are useful is that they are a record of who amongst the town wanted to lynch someone or force a role claim out of them. You faking a daykill could easily have had her saying "Good job guys, you just killed the doc." Gee, wonder who the mafia would kill that night. Basically, you took the voting record away from the town, depriving them of that information. One of the few kinds of information that is more helpful to the town than the scum. On top of that, IF you're a townie and I were the vig, I'd have nailed you during the night for outing the doc (in that previous example), so we would have lost 2 pro-town roles in one night. Not pro-town at all.
