Prod-dodge.

While I'm here I might as well say something: I think we lynched scum, or perhaps more probably third party here. N's refusal to claim his target combined with his strange role claim doesn't look town at all.

I've actually been effectively a pro-town lyncher before, odd as that is; I had to both lynch my target (my target was town) and the town had to win in order for me to win. That was a weird role.

We'll find out N's alignment soon enough. I do think N should claim his target; information, even confusing information, seems better then us wildly speculating about it for the rest of the game.
I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie

I'll admit I'm indifferent - if he's really town than the target is just wifom on multiple sides.

I still don't mind the slot lynch. Quar wasn't much aid and N pulled the Amish tell. It wouldn't surprise me if he has an anti-town wincon. Might not necessarily be within the primary scum group, but a 3rd-party death (if it even exists) helps us eliminate a potentially distracting sideshow. It'll take a good bit of re-reading if this slot is somehow pro-town.

What's the Amish tell? The wiki has failed me.

I'm sorry for lack of vote counts this weekend; on top of my usual weekend LA, my computer was messing up something fierce and I had a family emergency yesterday (my brother in law's dog tried to kill someone and probably has to get put down). Apologies.

For future note, if deadline hits when I am unable to reach a computer, votes after deadline will still count unless a hammer has already been cast.

A hammer was reached as of post 815. No votes after that were counted.

Flip upcoming.

A new headline broke.

Image

N, a new face on the political scene, was making waves. At first, he thought such notoriety was a good thing. If no one knows who you are, you can't get elected, right? But quickly, he realized that rumors that he had his own personal agenda meant he would never get the office he wanted. No matter how much he claimed that agenda or no, he was still working for the public good, he was ignored. The American public had rejected him and there was no coming back from that.

A new headline broke.

Image

The Vice President, Umbrage, was universally disliked. But that's mostly because he was a pompous jerk - otherwise, his nose had always been squeaky clean.

This time, though, he had gone too far.

He had been discovered trying to assassinate the President and make it look like an accident, or so some claimed. No one really liked him, so some were quick to point the finger.

Umbrage's designs on the Oval Office were clear. The people had had enough.

Umbrage was impeached and eventually convicted of attempted murder. When convicted, he was found before sentencing, dead in his house.

Elsewhere, a citizen was also found dead. He got no headlines.

MagnaofIllusion -

Thank you to whoever killed Umbrage. That was a major misplay on my part as governor.

My players of interest going in to today are Phillamon...RedCoyote (both for VCA) and Johhog (in memory of MOI).

He had to die before LyLo anyway. That's two scum PFs. Dan, would you expect the scumteam to have more than two?

I'd expect 3 personally out of the 4-group scum. it's possible there's 2 and equally possible there's 4, but my expectation is that 3/4 Power roles (which includes Godfather/Rolecop) will be the PFs, while the last will be a goon non-PF.

I'd like Yos to give his thoughts considering he did his best to sell Umbrage town (not that this is so bad
but it's intensity was startling)

btw the last of the scum are probably role-blocker/goon functionally with or without gimmicks.

I can't imagine voting for someone other than LLD.

Also I'd wager Seraphim/Thor as town because of the early push against Umbrage. I had my doubts for a bit during the end of D1

*shakes head*

anyway I'm cutting short my re-read of Umbrage due to the copious amounts of wifom splurging all over his posts.

Still I think LLD comes out bad with all Umbrage's "buddying" considering scum!Umbrage wouldn't risk town!LLD turning around and savagely pursuing the unjustified reason for Umbrage's town-read of her slot... which never happened.

VOTE: Lady Lambdadelta

This should obviously happen today. Also, not surprised that Umbrage flipped scum. I told y'all that you were letting him off the hook too easily.

@Johhog...why did you track Nacho over the person you were voting much of yesterday (LLD)?

Dan...remind me of why claiming PFs is beneficial and why scum would be inclined to select one vs the other.

at this point it's mostly damage control.

Vig need not try to kill PF's, and there is always risk for scum when claiming. I actually have to go atm, but the flip-side of the argument is that there isn't any downfall for town, because now that JohnHog's claimed it's obvious there are major town Power roles (jognhog is town btw) in the Non-PFs. I mean what can scum do at this point? they have like 2 members left. one can prolly role block, the other can kill. and that's the worst case, since they didn't bother rbing Johnhog last night.

tl:dr I'd rather lock in claims so as to give the scum no wiggle room at all. And while the vig is around, they still have to fear lying.

Because of Yosarian's advice... I wanted to track someone in my null area (couldn't know yet another scum member would die during the night). LLD was unlikely to submit a kill considering how suspected she was yesterday.

Actually, I wouldn't mind a massclaim at this point. In all reality, there's probably only one scum left. And the current flips (Modified Lyncher town thing, suicide bomber traitor, hated godfather, etc. etc.) and claims (tracker + PF miller + a PF vig + RC's whatever the fuck + Iec's whatever the fuck we know in the game), I think that this setup is probably pretty crazy, and Johhog's tracker claim seems a lot out of place. If he's scum just claiming tracker, I'm pretty sure we could catch him with a massclaim.

I would also like to start to popcorning because I'm practically confirmed town, but I wouldn't cry too many manly tears if someone else volunteered.

well I think there's 2 Nacho tbh, in 19p 3scum + 1 traitor is kinda weak.

Also to correct you a bit, I'm a Non-PF informed miller. I don't know whether the vig is PF or Non-PF. Johnhog's claim is at most slightly out-of-place in my estimation, so I'll willing to believe him for now.

That said I don't mind massclaiming PF/non-PF, but massclaiming roles explicitly as well is a bit unnecessary (if tempting).

we could try the PF/non-PF claims first and then determine if we need to massclaim a 2nd time?

Either way, I don't mind you starting the Pop-corn, although me and RC have already claimed Non-PF and PF respectively.

In any case I'd like LLD to start. It would be a great opportunity to post some words in general.

but you see my point, right?
the fact that these roles are unique means that they specifically may have been tailored to work together, which means that there are a damn good number of pitfalls scum can fall through if they try to claim PR in any way, and town can coordinate pretty decently once it's all out in the open. and yes, we can claim PF/non-PF first if it's really that important to you :(
