As Atticus pointed out, he's very much a part of the family and mith knows that. Additionally, masks aren't roles, so your theory is already busted unless you're saying that you think the public masks say something about alignment.

Just pointing out that mith's rules state that majority is still needed at deadline.

I'll switch to spork before deadline hits if it hasn't been lifted by that time -- a couple others will need to do the same.

Regarding spork:

1) as Fletch said, spork couldn't make that up
2) no way would Yo link himself to a lost cause if he believed spork to be scum (though it's possible that Yosarian is scum trying to ride the claim coattails of someone he believes is innocent)
3) Thesp, though, is so adamant and un-Thesp-like. Either he truly believes spork is scum (and now he's thrown "rolebased information" into his argument) or he really is a lyncher.

Thesp -- have you asked for an extension?

Thesp:

--Why were you so adamant that spork be lynched? You claim doesn't seem to support the kind of tenacity you were displaying.
--As others have pointed out, your translation of "activated ability" is questionable.
--I mentioned the possibility that Yosarian was simply copying spork's claim and he pointed out that he gave a name when, at that time, spork had not. So that theory was busted just three posts above your last. How did you miss it?

I'd like Thesp to explain himself. In the meantime, however, I'll stick with my Pooky vote.

Really? You don't see that the downside is that we would be lynching a claimed investigative role who has now been cross-confirmed by spork (each revealing a bit the other hadn't)? To me, it seems rather like lynching a claimed and supported mason -- only these ones are claiming
power
to boot.

And how do you
still
support your position that he's lying, when it seems a valid interpretation that his ability could not have yet been activated on Night 1?

Thesp, I don't understand this...
Thesp wrote:And Yosarian2

Why do you think that your role specifies "
activated
ability" if, as you seem to interpret it, it simply means "ability"?

I'm still down with my Pooky vote -- I'm in complete agreement with MoS's assessment. That said, I'll switch to Fletcher before deadline rather than hang out on Pooky all by my lonesome.

I think that challenge is impossible, MoS. I'm supposed to come up with a reason for his behavior if he's scum but I'm not allowed to ask you for a reason he'd act like this if town? The fact is that the behavior's scummy and
you're
utilizing WIFOM if you interpret it as anything but.

Have you
ever
seen Thesp miss this much? And, no offense to Gnome or Atticus, but I consider Thesp a more thorough player than both of them.

His behavior yesterday (refusal to consider a different interpretation of "activated," not seeing a problem with lynching a claimed investigator who'd been confirmed by another player) along with his "oh, I didn't realize he was dead" thing today (a ploy I've, by the way,
only
used as scum), is just too much to ignore. Thesp placing a vote without taking time to consider the night evidence? I mean,
really
. The name "Yosarian 2" showed up in the night scene -- I'm having a hard time believing that he didn't read it a couple of times and/or check the player roster in the first post to be sure he understood who was down before continuing a campaign against the guy.

I'm certainly listening if he wants to talk me out of it, though.

I am in a state of slack-jawed amazement that the Thesp-wagon has a mere two riders. Will no one join us? It's fun and oh-so-righteous!

The other person I'd consider voting at this moment is Pooky -- because he 1) followed Thesp in his nutty Yo-hunt yesterday and 2) he's been entirely absent today.

But, like I said, the Thesp-wagon's where the true party is.

I can only tell you that I'm not currently suspicious of Atticus. I was commenting a few days back that, in my opinion, the onscreen AJ is far different than the in-person Atticus -- so I don't have any motherly insight to share.

Nope. And a quick check will show you that I'd already questioned Fletcher for

statement that it made him "sad," which should've tipped you off that I thought it to be a pretty sensible post. It made a heckuva lot more sense than

I don't see "jester" listed anywhere in the roles for MeMeMeet games -- but I did find two games that used suicidal players. Are those terms interchangeable?

If so, I'll point out that in one of the games, suicidal was assigned randomly among
all
the roles, meaning that someone could be both suicidal and scum.

For me, it's an attempt to get a lynch by deadline...guy that followed Thesp yesterday is the next best thing to Thesp (and his wagon has been a non-starter despite my efforts). I'll gladly flip back, though. Thesp's "should we even bother extending the deadline" did nothing except make me
more
suspicious of him.

Well, mith was the mod for the game I referenced.
Wiki wrote:Game 17 - 7 Players, Open (2 Mafia, 1 Cop, 1 Lyncher, 3 Townies + 1 Suicidal among all roles), Mafia (Quag, Pooky) wins. Mod: mith
Deaths:
N1 - MoS? (Suicidal Lyncher)
D1 - No Lynch
N2 - +1
D2 - Pooky (Mafia)
N3 - fish (Cop)
D3 - Thesp
Endgame - kristocker
Survived - Quag (Mafia)
If you're going to accept MoS's praise that it's a "good theory" because it was used at MeMeMeet, it doesn't make much sense to reject the possibility it's not a town role...because that's also a way it was used at MeMeMeet (if I'm understanding the role correctly).

Maybe you just need to explain your interpretation of the role role better. This is the first I've heard of "jester." I mean, why should it be vigged rather than lynched?

OK -- but, according to the set-up as listed by mith (+1 suicidal among all roles), it was simple randomness that made the card land on a non-mafia role.

I urge everyone to ask for a deadline extension -- the decision doesn't have to be made in a couple of days if we just ASK.

Pooky, I get what you're saying -- but your thought about Thesp wanting to get lynched is just that: a thought.
My
thought is that Thesp is behaving scummily and he's admitted that he was putting on an act to keep his wife from figuring him out. Why, I ask you, would a pro-town player mind being nailed as a pro-town player? If he's a power role (as claimed) or scum, why wouldn't he WANT to look like a vanilla townie? It stands to reason that if his wife knows his tell, so does
he
.

And claiming to be an investigator seems at odds with wanting to be
lynched.
That's a good way to 1) make the town scared of lynching you and 2) being targeted by scum before you
can
get lynched.

Let's not have our extension go to waste! Get to posting/voting, everyone!

I'm still interested in getting rid of Thesp as he's the one I view as least likely to be town. + Does it hurt the town to lynch him? I mean, even if Pooky's right about him being a jester, I can't see that it'd be a bad thing to just let Thesp win his individual game. We'd either be getting rid of a baddie or someone who has a separate win criteria that, as far as I can see, shouldn't interfere with town's.
