Rules

  1. Votes must be in the following format:
    Vote: ?????
. Any votes not bolded or not following the previous format will
    NOT
    be counted.
  2. You do
    NOT
    need to
    Unvote
before casting a new vote, but you may
    Unvote
if you do not wish to be voting for anybody. Simply follow the previous format to choose a new player to vote for. Your vote will be counted towards the
    LAST
person you voted for. Notice that like the voting format, if you wish to
    Unvote
    , it
    MUST
be bolded, or it will not be counted.
  3. Lynching will require a simple majority of votes. Once a player has reached a simple majority of votes, he is lynched.
    NO
    attempts to
    Unvote
    will be heeded, and
    ALL
pleas will be useless. You MAY
    Vote: No Lynch
. A majority of these votes will end the day without a lynch.
  4. This game is not to be discussed outside of this thread unless your role
    SPECIFICALLY
states so. All discussion outside the game thread will occur during the night phase, and
    NO ONE
should be communicating with anyone during the day phases.
  5. Once you have been declared dead, do
    NOT
    post to the thread for
    ANY
    reason.
  6. Do
    NOT
edit or delete previously submitted posts. Do
    NOT
    quote
    ANY
    PM’s from me.
  7. Do
    NOT
use invisible text, and do not use text smaller than size 8.
  8. Night phases will last for 72 hours. If you do not submit a choice, no choice will be made. Day phases will last as long as necessary. If discussion lags, a deadline will be imposed. If discussion resumes, the deadline will be retracted. If a deadline is imposed and reached, half of the necessary votes to lynch will be required to lynch a player. If no players have the necessary amount of votes, the player with the greatest number of votes will be lynched. If 2 or more players have the same necessary number of votes, the player who reached that number of votes
    LAST
    will be lynched.
  9. If you anticipate being unavailable for more than 48 hours, please place a notification in the game thread or by PM to the mod. Treat this game as a commitment. If you have not posted or given notification that you are involved in the game within
    72
hours, you will be prodded. If you do not respond to the prod either in the thread, by PM to the mod, or within the Vacation/Limited Access thread within
    48
hours, you will be replaced and/or modkilled.
  10. As the mod, I am always right, though not always accurate. Do not try to outguess me, and do
    NOT
argue with my decisions in the game thread. If you have
    ANY
    questions concerning
    ANY
facet of the game, please feel free to send me a PM.
  11. If I feel that
    ANY
of the previous rules have been broken, I will send you a warning. If you ignore the warning, and repeat the offense, you
    WILL
be mod-killed. If you are fair to me, I will be fair to you. I am not a tyrant, but I
    WILL
do what I feel is necessary to protect the integrity of the game.
  12. This is a game, please have fun, and do your part.

Roles:

  • TOWNIE

You are a vanilla townie. You do not have any power besides the power of your voice and your vote.
    You are
    NOT
allowed to discuss this game outside the game thread. (Located here)
    You win once there are
    0
    opposing roles left.

As he is walking towards his car, SpeedyKQ is congratulating himself. He had 2 successful operations, and he is FINALLY starting to get some respect around the hospital. Dusk turning into night hides the shadowy figure waiting for him, though... he does not even notice anything is wrong until the chloroformed rag is around his mouth... he wakes up in a dark, damp cellar handcuffed and shackled to a bed with the shadowy figure before him... suddenly he sees the shadowy figure hold up a small New Testament and a knife... "W-W-What a-a-a-are y-y-y-you going to d-d-do w-w-with that?", he manages to sputter... Without saying a word, the shadowy figure slits open his stomach, and places the Bible inside, then turns around and leaves him to die a slow & painful death...

On the other side of town, as chaotic_diablo gets in his car from his night job as a security guard, he does not notice anything unusual. Driving home, he thinks to himself, "I am tired of these goons trying to take over the town. It's time for me to take the law into my own hands... Tomorrow, I will teach the Mafia a lesson, once and fo..." Just then he notices the car following him... He takes the next exit, but the black Lincoln Continental follows closely... Suddenly, he notices a flurry of small lights coming from the car, and hears the soft sound of silenced gunshots... that's the last thing he sees and hears...

Death scene plus the fact that chaotic_diablo was a day vig suggests to me we have a serial killer and a mafia (probably three members). Anyone (dis)agree?

Random (among the players that already have a vote) vote: Aelyn

It's meaningless to make up an opinion about that yet Fiasco.

for being the first one to mention it.

Agreed, plus anyone speculating about killing groups makes me uneasy.

KingPin, not sure whether you're asking me or LML; mine was pretty much random, but what I meant was Lee's vote was the first random vote on me.

Don Gaetano, why restrict random votes to those who already have votes? Shouldn't it be called "random bandwagoning" then?

No, not really. I just like being the first one to put the second vote on someone. There's a lot of difference between a second random vote and a bandwagon. Atleast in my opinion.

Can't speak for LML, and won't say I'm of the same opinion but if people don't not consider their own role in discussions of the setup in general, those sorts of discussions can give scum info.

Well, its been my experience that discussing the set up only allows the scum to spread disinformation. However on day one, there are only so many options available to us to start discussion: bandwagoning someone to a claim, discussing the setup, and discussing a "no lynch". Usually, the second two lead to the first method.

Random vote jaguar

And I tend to agree with dragyn- there's only so much that we can discuss on day 1 and the setup is one of them. That being said, some people(i.e. scum) may be able to get info from that, so I can see why some are against the idea. Still, where else can we start? I'm open to ideas (besides random bandwagoning).

Hi all!
Well, instead of talking about killing groups, lets talk about your post here...

Why *wouldn't* this vote be random, unless you're afraid you're scum already fingered by a cop? That little aside you threw in there makes be believe that you're scum.

I cannot think of ANY reason one would decide to say as such without something to fear.

My vote stays.

Considering I was guilty of a similar slip-up in Siege of Harrogoth, I think LML could be on to something. I almost said he was a newbie so we should lay off, but he's been on site for 4 months now. This *can't* be the first time he's been random voted here.

It's true that discussing the setup may give the scum information, but it's also true that this information may help them to kill each other, which would be good, and it's also true that it may give the town information, which would also be good. You may have a point, or you may not. I'll admit that I didn't really consider the giving information to the scum part before asking the question; I have always had the habit of bleating out everything that comes to mind, and that's worked well, but then I've never played in the beginning of a non-newbie game.
Why *wouldn't* this vote be random, unless you're afraid you're scum already fingered by a cop?
I don't know; people can vote for any number of nonrandom reasons. Maybe you thought I was more likely than the others to want to nightkill those people that have been nightkilled. Maybe you're a scum picking a relatively new player as an easy scapegoat. Maybe you like typing my username. (OK, that would probably count as random.) I just thought I'd make sure not to say something false by adding the "if".
That little aside you threw in there makes be believe that you're scum.
Because I'd be dumb enough to give myself away in the first sentence of my first post, right?

Normally, I'd agree with you, Fiasco, except that I've seen this line of logic prove correct more often than not when everything is revealed. So I'm going to have to
unvote
vote fiasco
