Yup. If they die, then they were gonna die anyways.

This way, they die to to terrible accients (and the occasional arson). I actually remember Firefighter being like a really stressful job from way back when anyways.

If they die, YOU blew your one chance to save their life. If someone in a burning building dies, it was probably impossible to save them.

Incidentally, Canberra was created for the sole purpose of being the capital city after Melbourne and Sydney couldn't come to an agreement on which one should be. Canberra was deliberately positioned approximately halfway between the two so as to be a good compromise.
