General Rules

1)

Starting and Ending States:

The game starts during the Day. All roles that can communicate at Night may do during pregame. The game will end when one faction has fulfilled its win condition, unless otherwise specified.
2)

Day Procedures:

Each player may discuss the game and cast a single vote at a time against people they want to lynch. Day ends when either the deadline hits or a strict majority of the votes are on one person.
3)

Voting:

Votes should be in

bold

in order for them to count, for instance:

Vote: Reckamonic

. If you wish to vote for a different player, you don't need to unvote. As long as we can tell who you're voting for, we don't care if you abbreviate someone's name when you vote them.

No Lynch:

As an alternative to voting for someone, you may

, but for it to take effect, enough players must vote No Lynch that it would be impossible to form any other majority.
5)

Deadlines:

Deadline will be 3 weeks.

Mass Inactivity:

In an act of pure villainy, we may shorten the deadline if we deem the activity level is unsatisfactory. You will be warned if we want you fellows to pick up the pace.

Deadline Lynches:

If no single player has enough votes for a lynch at the deadline, the result is

No Lynch

and the game proceeds to Night. Deadlines are there for a reason.

Twilight:

After someone receives the majority vote, everyone may still discuss the game, but votes and unvotes will not be considered - the person voted for by the majority will be lynched regardless. Twilight will last until we waltz in and post a death scene.

Night Length and Procedures:

The topic will be locked at Night. If your Role PM specifies that you have a Night Action, you may follow the instructions on that PM to use it. Barring extenuating circumstances, Nights will not last longer than 72 hours, but will not be shorter than 48.
10)

Night Action Resubmission:

If you have to PM a choice to the mods (i.e. the name of someone you want to kill/protect/investigate), you may change your choice at any time during the Night by sending the mod another PM with the new choice. The most recent choice will be honored.
11)

Role Overlap Policy:

In the event of overlapping and/or contradictory Night Actions (i.e. a mutual roleblock), priority is given to whoever PMs the mods with the action first. However, if two kills are submitted on the same target, the most damaging death will be the one displayed (You can slit someone's throat first, but if he got blown to smithereens no one will care about his throat...). Finally, if two vote modifying actions affect you, the lower amount takes priority.

Bolding something is how you get the mods to notice it. It's that simple.

Activity, Prods, and Replacements:

) thinks you're lurking. We reserve the right to blacklist flakers or people who maliciously replace out.

Don't discuss this game outside of this thread with anyone unless your Role PM lets you do otherwise. Note that all QTs are open to use at any time.

Modkills:

Breaking any of the above three rules (or flagrantly violating Rule 16) will result in you getting modkilled. Modkills can be retroactive. If a living player breaks any of these rules, the day may or may not end, depending on what would disadvantage that player's faction the most. A dead player breaking any of these rules will result in someone from the same faction getting modkilled. In addition, getting modkilled results in an instant loss for that player, along with our general hatred. In short, follow the rules. Note that we're not planning to keep a blacklist of people to refuse in our games, but there are two of us, so we'll remember..

Look you guys. I like yall, really I do, but in case you hadn't noticed, this game has WoW for a theme, a game in which toons are basically healers. Yes, there are some parts of the flavour that sound weird or don't seem to fit so well. We did the best we could, so the next one of you I read bitchin about his flavour not fitting his role is getting yelled at. Eversong Forest is known for the abundance of mana in the air around it. Driven by their thirst for this mystical energy, the Blood Elves have built their capital within this section of the Eastern Kingdoms.

Unfortunately, in times like these within a land such as Azeroth, one needs much more than mana to survive and protect their peers.

The early-risers within the group of adventurers patrol the area surrounding their temporary camp, keeping their senses ready to catch the slightest movement or sound. During the night many events took place, and the presence of three fresh bodies within the camp do nothing to calm the minds. The deceased were not weak in any way; They were exceptional war veterans, a Worgen and two Blood Elves hardened by the eternal conflicts that opposes the forces of the Horde and Alliance.

This time however, age-old conflicts appear to be out of the equations. The previous death of Lady Lambdadelta seemed to point to a treacherous plan on the Horde's part, but the corpses of drmyshottyizsik and mockingjaye have spread doubt within those who answer to the Alliance within the group: These two did not have a hand in the killing of innocents.

As the mana-wyrms float carelessly under the forest's canopy, the remaining adventurers start heading south, hoping to find more safety in the Ghostlands, all the while keeping a close eye on the people walking around them. Perhaps today the ones who would cause Azeroth harm will reveal themselves.

It is now Night 2. Deadline is 72 hours from this post.

The path of the night elves is one of strife. Led by their highest caste, the Highborne, to form pacts with the ancient demon Sargeras, they allowed the Burning Legion to invade the land, resulting in the world breaking into three continent and the opening of the Maelstrom. Through this, the people lost their immortality, their magic and their unity; The night elves retreated back to Teldrassil to live an ascetic life with nature, the highborne were exiled to Quel'Thalas to find a new source of power.
The latter, however, fell to the might of the Scourge and the bigotry of the humans, and the few who remained changed their name to Blood Elves, in honor of their fallen brethren.

Setting up camp in the Ghostlands turned out to be a rash decision for the group of adventurers, as three more bodies are found in the morning. Again, the body of a Blood Elf is discovered, as if the race's sacrifices still fails to soothe the gods after their role in the Sundering. Perhaps it was in the name of vengeance for his fallen companions, but in the dead's hand is firmly grasped a bloodied broadsword.

Next to him lay the corpse of Benmage, a night elf. Even in death, his lips are curled in a rictus, as if he is the possessor of some wisdom that only a selected few can possibly understand. After all the suffering endured by his people, it might have seemed like a relief to finally be able to join his Goddess Elune in heaven.

The final body is completely different than those that have turned up during the previous days. Nowhere in this body can any form of grace be identified. In its place stands ruggedness and a tempered form, that of a mighty dwarf. No sign of pain or agony in the face of this brave hunter. Dwarves are strong and do not give in to weak emotions like these.

Once again, proper inspection of the bodies lead the group to despair: none of these three show signs of having ever taken part in a malicious plan to assimilate their peers.

After burying the lost ones, the adventurers regroup. It is more than obvious that within them there are people who have no other intention than to see each and every people of Azeroth dead or enslaved. They all shudder, surely at the thought of the gruesome death that might await them the next night.

Or perhaps it is that they are looking at the next logical step in their travel: A long walk across the Plaguelands.

The nation of Lordaeron was once a land caracterized by a multitude of animals and plants and a rich agricultural potential.

Then came the Third War. In his lust for power, the Lich King ordered his followers to unleash the plague of Undeath on the land. In the process, the grains distributed throughout the northern province became tainted and toxic to all who would consume them. They would die, only to awaken as hordes of mindless ghouls and monstrosities with only one capacity: to kill all who would oppose the Lich King.

The cursed nation thus became known as the Plaguelands, where the dead walk free and the living are few and far-between, concentrated in small camps.

Fully aware of these troubling informations, the group set its course for Tirisfal Glades. While the dead also roam its plains, it is the sole path leading out of the cursed region, barring flight.

Each step taken in the Plaguelands is a careful one, every member of the group aware that any single mistake can lead them to certain doom when the Scourge are so plentiful and servants of good so few. They know they can take care of themselves for a certain amount of time, but the enemy has a clear advantage over them: it never sleeps.

Night begins to take over as the group reaches the border that separates the Eastern and Western Plaguelands. The more dangerous monsters are behind them, but the road ahead still is filled with threats. The camp is set, and the sentinels begin their shift, those allowed to rest tossing and turning in their covers, unable to find sleep with the stench of undeath looming over them.

It's only when morning comes that they realize that for the first time in their trip, nobody has lost their life during the night. Perhaps the threat of the Scourge scares more than just the more innocent adventurers?

After finally being able to sleep securely for a night, the members of the group awaken to a most troublesome situation.

They are surrounded by an imposing group of undead. However, unlike the scourged forces that roam the Plaguelands, these are armed, equipped in armors and seem more than aware of the group's intrusion. Standing slightly behind them is a cloaked woman. Her delicate features indicate what used to be an elf, but the paleness of her skin leaves no doubt that life has left her body a long time ago. Silvanas casts a cold stare at the disorganized group of adventurers standing on the turf of her people.

During the previous day, the group proceeded to cross the remaining part of the scourged territories and reached the border of Tirisfal Glades just before nightfall. Having exhausted most of their forces in trying to abandon the horrors of the Plaguelands, they forgot to set up sentinels and left themselves vulnerable to a power far more dangerous than a wild creature; the merciless army of the Forsaken, lead by the Banshee Queen Silvanas.

Quickly the adventurers notice that the respite they got the previous night was not meant to last, as once again three corpses are found within their ranks.

The first is that of Gollum. He did not talk a lot, preferring to stay in the shadows where he reigned better than most anyone else. Unfortunately for the worsen, darkness was apparently not on his side this time.

The second corpse belongs to the short, sturdy dwarf known as Chronopie. His body is stiff and his hands are covered in blood. He may have been a servant of the better cause, but he still was responsible for the loss of lives within the group.

As the third body is found, the eyes of the Banshee Queen widden. She recognizes the symbols written on what used to be the garments of the deceased, she knows the magical aura that surrounds the lifeless man.

Vezokpiraka was not originally an evil blood elf, but he let the promise for power cripple his common sense and was willing to kill his brothers and sisters for it.

Silvanas glares back at the adventurers

"I was planning to have you executed for your trespassing, but it seems we share a common goal in the annihilation of those vermin who would serve Arthas. However I do not care for your presence in these lands. I will have the guards take you to the Zeppelins. Ride the first one departing for Stranglethorn. If tonight the likes of you are still here... There will be new Forsakens born."

Not wanting to anger a force they know they cannot stand against, the adventurers quickly gather their belongings and follow the guards. In the back of their mind, the knowledge that the taint of Arthas remains within their group keeps them on edge.

As the group resigns themselves to being sent to the wilderness of Stranglethorn, a humming noise begins to resonate all around them.

The earth starts rumbling as crevices break open around the group. Suddenly, one of them separates from the group, casting a defying glance at Silvanas.

"Your little parody of an army may be able to handle a handful of idiotic adventurers, Banshee. But I am far too powerful to be subdued by your pitiful guards! Come at me Silvanas! Show me what it means to defy the might of the Forsaken!" he shouts.

Without a word, Silvanas motions for her guards to kill the smug orator. They surround him and draw their weapons, ready to kill

"Any last word, mortal?" she says in an icy tone.

In response the man starts floating and his eyes begin to glow a menacing red. He starts growling as his features change from that of a human to reveal the form of a dragon. As his true identity starts to show, his body starts expanding to reach the size of a large building. Taking to the sky, he releases a raging inferno on the army of Silvanas, reducing them to dust.

"I don't need last words, banshee!" replies Deathwing after landing on the pile of what used to be soldiers. "Do YOU have any?"

The Banshee Queen backs away slowly, assessing her situation. She may be powerful, but taking on Deathwing is suicide, even Thrall could not handle him. She looks around, but there is nowhere to escape. As she starts resignating herself to her impending doom, she raises her head to the sky.

"He's here..." she mutters under her breath.

Freezing gusts of wind howl in every direction as a dark figure tears open the sky and slowly levitates down between the queen and the dragon.

"Silvanas, what a surprise to see you here." mocks the Lich King, shooting her a quick glance.

"Are you here to mock me, Arthas? Here to see me die at the hands of one other than yourself?"

"Actually... I'm here to make sure that does not happen" responds the scourge leader, turning back to the dragon.

The two most renowned threats to Azeroth stare at each other, gauging each other's strenght. Before Deathwing can make a move however, the king teleports up to him and severs his neck.

"Pitiful... And I expected some kind of resistance. Adventurers, come see me in Icecrown Citadel. I expect from you a challenge greater than overgrown lizard." Arthas shouts at the group. "That is, if my minions do not murder all of you before you can make it."

At these words, the Lich King vanishes and Tirisfal Glades turns back to its normal aspect.

The group stands there, paralyzed. The guards that were restraining them are dead, but they don't try to run away, too shocked by the events that just occured.

The silence is broken by the arrival of the Zeppelin to Howling Fjord, as if the will of the Lich King cannot be ignored.

"Ya coming aboard?" asks the pilot.

The group boards in silence, thoughts of Arthas' last words resonating through their head: "That is, if my minions do not murder all of you before you can make it."

Due to ridiculously extenuating circumstances, the mods have decided to end this game in a draw.

We are forced to call it for a number of reasons:

#1) Several players being absolutely unruly and deliberately breaking rules, which has not only earned them a modkill, but a blacklist from all future games.

- Toogeloo's screenshot posting was the first thing that really set us off. I understand he did it to make sure town had a flip to go off of, but trying to break the rules like that when there was NOT going to be a lynch is absolutely unsportsmanlike and bullshit.

- AKR, we understand that your posting the QT link was a mistake, and this occurrence has actually forced us to go back in our ruleset and rewrite them to either ban posting role PMs, or making it DAMNED obvious that you can't post the link to your QT, or maybe even just sending out the QTs in a separate PM.

- AGar, I'm actually severely disappointed in you. When GreyICE claimed cult, we understood it was strategic to try and get attention off of Katsuki. When you did it, it was a giant middle finger to the game because you weren't happy with how the modkill on AKR turned out. I expected more from you.

- GreyICE, you are perhaps the most insufferable player of them all. It's fine to bitch in the cult QT about how upset you are, I understand. But not even Katsuki, your damned cult recruiter, was as upset as you were. You can bitch and bitch and bitch, but when you

threatened to post the link to the cult QT if we didn't modkill you immediately

, you crossed a line that you shouldn't have crossed. That's insanely immature and juvenile, and you have just earned yourself an immense amount of disrespect, and a blacklist.

In fact, this whole game saw us blacklist for the first time EVER - and it was on THREE people. Fucking embarrassing.

#2) Given the current gamestate at the time of AKR's modkillable offense, there was no point in continuing.

While our modkill may have had an influence on the gamestate (by confirming it was LyLo and thereby making it more likely that Katsuki was the cult recruiter), we contend that the game was perfectly balance, and it is not the mods' faults that cult backed themselves into a corner via a series of poorly chosen recruits. Kats tried to recruit an unrecruitable one night, and recruiter AGar, thereby reflexive-roleblocking herself on another night. We also contend that even if Kats had gotten lynched, the surviving cult members could have gone on to win by mislynching the appropriate number of people, though obviously with AGar suiciding and GreyICE claiming cult the previous day, it would have all relied on Substrike to do this, which would've meant getting down to endgame with InflatablePie + one other one, and that was a difficult task.

#3) Nobody really wanted to play anymore.

And this, my friends, is what really pissed us the fuck off. All these modkills and whining and bitching was especially offensive, because you know what? We worked for a damned long time on this setup, and we spent hours tweaking it just perfectly so that it would be balanced. Swingy, yes, but perfectly balanced. But as our luck would have it, we wound up with a bunch of whiny, immature children instead of respectable adults who know how to behave.

For those of you who did play this game respectfully and rightly, I thank you. It was fun while it lasted. We'll be posting role PMs & night actions in the upcoming posts. And I apologize if this post sounds a bit too harsh, but I am just completely amazed by the behavior of some of the players, so it's going to come off that way.
