I think DDD's approach is a good one, if only to avoid accusations that you're making up moves in order to make trick votes.

This is true, but people were going for the wrong guy. That's not my fault. :p
I think it's better to be safe than sorry with the move thing, given that the "homoerotize" attempt didn't work, and the mod has said he won't count votes that don't use wrestling move terminology, I think it's a legit concern.
