Since you have to get all the way to L-1, I don't think there's another way. We should be able to organise it with just the active players since it needs to be a little under half the players in-game, and I think it'd be useful to start asap to trim scum ranks sooner if we can. But I get that it'll be awfully hard. Probably doing it alphabetically would work, like down from the top. Nominate however many active players and suck it up and away we go...And do it like whoever proposed the plan in that other post. That was awesome. Names and L- numbers.

First let me clear this up: If you murder and cult Ritual, it will say they were murdered UNLESS the cult resuscitate them in which case it will say they were ritualised.

Now onto why you need to claim your target: it doesn't matter for Cult whether you out your target or not. They will be able to tell who heard noises that wasn't their doing, and they will cross-reference that with people who claimed to have caused those noises. Even if they do not get a definitive answer, they will still be able to narrow it down and chances are they'll know who you're targetting. So if you don't out it, they'll PROBABLY be able to res the target if they want to, regardless. If it's one of them, they'll know they heard a noise and res themselves anyway.

Hiding your stalk target from TOWN, on the other hand, helps you (as scum) keep your options open and we're not the trusting type.

^That's a fair point but it only works if he's actually stalked a townie. If he stalks a cultist, they'll have heard an unexplained noise, and then that'll tip them off that they're the target. If he tells us his target and that target does not die, we could have a SpyreX situation again.

The worst thing to happen would be him stubbornly not reveal his target, and mafia to res his target and kill him in the same night. If his target does not die we at least need to know who the target was. If he reveals the target today we don't have to waste res kits ensuring he survives to tomorrow. If he doesn't, and gets killed tonight, and flips town...we'll be gutted we didn't know who got res'd by cult. In fact, thinking of that, if he doesn't reveal his target, we may even have to only allow sanctioned rezzes, in case his kill gets intercepted by a townie res kit. I mean, come on. Which is better? If VPB survives, and claims he was targeted, then there is no tradeoff because TNM is cleared (unless they're both cult gambitting, which would be lulz and explain the delay)

It's not a trade, because VPB would still be alive. It's only a trade if VPB then lies which signs his own death warrant. I don't understand how you can say rez VPB and if VPB is ritualized kill TNM. If VPB is rezzed, then OF COURSE cult will ritual him. Rezzing VPB is just asking for trouble. This is more difficult but is solved by lynching TNM first; and then if he flips town, lynching VPB, so in this scenario it's at worst a one for one trade that catches VPBscum, which isn't that bad for town either.

Yep, basically, at the moment it's a tool that exploits the one-for-one trade aspect of murder. We either get a confirmed townie, or confirmed cult. That can happen either tonight, or after a one day delay (which is where we'll need to get careful).

Best case scenario is the person murdered is cult (1-0 town)
And worst case scenario is still only a 1-1 trade

Just a quick note, though, Person B should rez Person A so that the potentially clear townie doesn't get killed off.

That's my proposition. I think that gives us the best chance of catching and clearing. BUT, people were unsatisfied with TNM murdering VPB. I don't know. If we're pretty sure TNM is scum we can just lynch him today and save VPB, but it DOES mean we have one less "confirmed" townie.

Hmm. The plan is potentially at fault in the future though. After tonight, people won't be CLEARED by lynching the stalkee and having them flip cult, since cult can claim a stalk on one of their own and then not follow through. If they have buddies that are getting lynched anyway (Nico, Plum) then cult could manipulate this plan to make sure they're slated to stalk that person. Because I think we have the element of surprise, this shouldn't be a problem tonight. Also, because we have the element of surprise, it's the best night to maximum the stalk-kill-checks.

On the other hand, you CAN catch someone by lynching the STALKER and having them flip town. In this case, the stalkee didn't rez themselves and is cult. But again, if the stalker flips scum, that doesn't mean their stalkee isn't their buddy.

Lastly, you CAN catch people by lynching the stalkee and having them flip town. If the stalkee is town and claims they were not murdered, since they'd have no reason to lie, their stalker was cult.

VPB rezzing and exposing himself prevents scum fuckery, and means we dont have to spend like, three kits on him to keep him alive. I.e. scum will just not bother and we'll have wasted your murder and 3 other actions...

Brief "Yay Victory!" post...I like how:

(a) I played much more townish when my death was sealed
(b) I got the TNM/VPB stalk the complete wrong way around
(c) I convinced myself Spy wasn't scum for a very long time based on not wanting to OMGUS
(d) My "stalked target uses the rez-kit" plan was somewhat effective
(e) This game fawking roxxed my soxxs.

VPB played a decent game for the first half, and it was thanks for TNM's ballsy gutsy deviance that he was caught. I submit myself to you.
