I second this.
Wonderful game, with great flavor and powers. But best of all were the other players. It was a wonderful game from start to finish (even though I replaced in), and I will miss every player there. lol Even the players I killed. lol

The absolutely hillarious finale alone made this game special (see Andrius' sig to get an idea).

Maybe we should also nominate it for worst town endgame or something...

He really impressed me, coming in to mod both Harry Potter Mafia and Gears of War Mafia simultaneously, when the mods disappeared.

The mod's still gone for one of them, so he had to finish moderating it all the way until the end, and did an awesome job.

I wonder if the "Smooth Operator" would work here. I mean, the games weren't glorious in the terms of votecounts, but he jumped in as backup mod and succeeded in the important stuff.

yeah, I was a bit disappointed with getting vote counts done in HP. I kept thinking I was ok, and then all of a sudden it had been like 6 pages since a VC. That's the main thing that I was disappointed with when modding that game. Not really an explanation for that besides I kept misinterpreting the speed of the game and length of time since a VC. Although I may also blame Gears Mafia for wanting me to do about 8 VCs in a 24 hour span

performance for the same game. It's not often that you can get away with not only claiming Third Party, but also claiming cult, and still win the game. Plus, his quasi-fakeclaim kept people fooled for multiple game-days, and he was very conniving with persuading a town player into joining the cult over taking a sure-fire town win.

He just played his cards right and chose the best person to invite to the cult in the endgame (imagine what would've happened if the invite went out to SSBF instead, or CSL).

And I totally abused the fact that he'd recruit me over anyone else to guarantee myself with a win. I could have won with either team.
I do agree that he played exceedingly well though. <3 Hades/Ares FTW

I'm flattered.

That said, my worry is that because Andrius was only unofficially my co-Mod due to experience levels, he won't be considered eligible. But he co-created the setup, he often provided votecounts when I was busy or otherwise couldn't do it, wrote the first drafts of a lot of the flavor (and came up with he actual approach to the flavor), helped coordinate opening and closing of the quicktopics, and (most importantly, I think) co-created the setup, including writing first drafts of many of the Role PMs, so any appreciation of this game, official or not, is owed at least as much to him as to me. Just getting that out there before any future discussion of how this nomination should be handled.

Then just drop my name from the nom.

I'm not worried for the nomination itself; honestly I'm a bit perturbed at the idea that I might get recognized without you. You contributions were too significant to reduce to 'just helping out' (and I don't only mean ringleadering the Dead quicktopic either ) . . . hell, it was basically your idea to make and run such a setup in the first place. So yeah.

I'm fine with that though. It'll be enough for me to say I helped design and facilitate the game (and awesome-as-always Dead QT).

On a side note, I thought it was REALLY weird to have the One Ring be a player. Whose idea was that??

I'd have to rummage through both the Design QT and the Mod QTs to say for sure, but I'm pretty sure it just carried over from the Silmaril in Lay of Leithian. I'm surprised no one guessed its involvement sooner.

The notion of The One Ring being both a player and an item was always part of the game; I brought it up at the very begininng of the Design QT, so we probably created it in the PM phase of designing the game, or from the Greek Mythos Scum QT.

edit: So it seems like, from the context of my Sent PMs, it was Plum's idea to have The One Ring as a player.

I could be wrong, but I believe the Award has to go to somebody who wins as Third Party, not just somebody who "does well."

He wasn't THE IC for 1016, but he replaced in on D2 and commenced to *nearly* catch the scumbags in that game (me, the original IC).
Had all the players in his good graces, and my scumbuddy was saved only by the creeping deadline.
