Since we can't unvote, is anyone against a FoS count to replace normal vote counts?

Oh, my mistake on the voting thing, though in my defense it was worded strangely. I'm glad we get RVS now, though! ##Vote: FishytheFish for being...fishy...

Actually it's Tatsumi from the football series Giant Killing.

The NK should be used by someone we think is town and who they shot should be talked about as well.
This is an interesting idea in a similar vein to controlling a confirmed vigilante. My only qualms with it is that it relies pretty heavily on the honor system, and mafia isn't exactly known for that kind of thing. I am absolutely not against discussing it though, of course!

Town controlls the kill and the lynch = town win.
Right, right. I'm alright with this, works even better since the mafia don't have kills on their own.

Investigation immunity could be someone trying to keep things like that away from scum; I know that before the idea of controlling the NKs was thrown around, I was thinking of similar strategies, buying scum-oriented powers to keep them away from scum.

I share Jack and SaintKerrigan's sentiment; if scum put him over $1000 and sends him out of the game, we're left at essentially square one again except everyone's money who participated so far is in shambles. If anything, we would end up worse off than we started.

Fishythefish wrote:@Zajnet: in my experience, you don't want to drown in the setup. Scumhunting isn't affected much by all these abilities in unknown places - and it's not really inherently any more confusing than a closed setup. There'll almost certainly be some points where the game mechanic is critical, but until then you'd be well advised not to think too much about it.
I wholeheartedly disagree. I mean, look at the effects that the setup has had so far. We had more discussion in pregame than a lot of games have in the two or three (or more) pages of RVS that usually happen. Speaking of RVS, we almost didn't really have one at all, and people are calling each other out based on things said about the setup, the abilities, and the marketplace. Normal scumhunting can happen alongside the focus that is necessary based on the very different kind of setup. Why, Fishy, would you try to tell the town not to scumhunt in a way that has proved to provide plenty of discussion so far?

I don't know how he normally acts, but VasudeVa hasn't really said anything about anything except for when he has been called out, and it is clear that he has read at least a little of the thread. Steam-Powered Shovel hasn't said much, either, though he at least votes which puts more information out there than active lurking. I'll
##Vote: Steam-Powered Shovel
for the time being.

I think the Jack/Zang conflict is townies butting heads, mostly because I've played with both of them before and Jack is looking similarly town, while Zang is actually playing, opposite of what he did as scum. Zang's vote on Jack looked OMGUS-like to me, but that isn't really founded in anything but my gut.

Fishy, I think I see where you're coming from now. I just got the feeling that you were entirely discouraging setup/abilities talk from the first post. I agree that it can never replace normal scumhunting, but I think that the discussion it provides when the market is actually going can help provide information that would support scumhunting.

fos fishy and SK
Why do you think both Fish and Vas could be scum? From the way they've butt heads I think it's one or the other; even with two scum teams, I just doubt we would get that lucky.
Zang wrote:I think Pickpocket is pretty much a third-party role because the person who has it is probably trying to get a money win.
Do you still think this now that you know how hard it seems to be? I, personally, think it is probably more of a scum ability; they want the ability to outbid the other team since the team's ability to combine their money makes them the only competition for each other, and it doesn't seem very town to want to take money from potentially other townies.

Now that I have a chance to post, I want to apologize for being missing the past few days. My computer's harddrive sort of went on the fritz and is in the middle of being fixed. It should be done in the next day or two, but I'm not 100% sure; if you would like to replace me, that would be fine and I'm very sorry, otherwise I am

right now. Posting in all my active games.
