All right. The subtitle of this game needs to be "Flavor is not God". The town killed themselves by trusting flavor too much over play.
This started Day 1 with Sudo's lynch. While he didn't fully claim, as he appeared to leave out the "Super" part of his Jailkeeper role, I'm not sure he totally knew what was up with his role, as the role PM didn't seem to explain it fully. If he had one night to use his role, he probably would have been roleblocked, but if he hadn't been, it probably would have partially confirmed him. It's too bad, I really wanted to see his role in action. It was the way to keep the Beloved Princess safe once they claimed, but alas, that role was taken care of Day 1, mostly because of flavor, from what I remember.
Day 2 was insane, due to Sens disappearing(which I don't think was just flaking. I haven't seen him on AIM in a month, and last time he just disappeared, he got hit by a car, so I'm hoping he's ok). Yet again, people didn't think that Prongs was a possibility. It was a stretch, but Harry thought it was his dad in Book 3, so I suppose it works.
Night 2 destroyed the town, with 2 killing roles killed. I'd also like to apologize to dramonic for his lack of NK protection. That was something that neither Sens nor I had noticed until the game was underway, and it was too late to change.
Day 3? I really don't know what happened there. A Beloved Princess was lynched, which doesn't end well. It may be a good scum claim, but there's almost no way that scum are going to let a claimed Princess live through the night if they're town. They would then get a second night to do whatever. True, they can WIFOM the town into lynching the Princess the next day, but it's not usually worth it for them, so, IMO, a claimed Princess is something that you just don't lynch on the day they claim.
Then the masons both died, so there weren't any confirmed townies.
Then the last day was just NS messing up his claim. The Role PM did say conductor(unless he got sent a wrong one), but he claimed driver. What I find really strange is how people just believed Magna claiming
Bus Driver
as Stan Shunpike after pointing out how NS said he was the driver of the Knight Bus. It seemed to me like he was claiming exactly what he was attacking.
I was pretty impressed with the scum though, they did a great job at keeping the town going after claims that were "slightly off" flavorwise instead of letting them look at play, which I think would've led them more towards the actual scum. RC never got looked at after claiming Dumbledore, which I found really, really strange, because a claim can only get you so far, especially after seeing the strange flavor of some of the flips. Town just seemed to shoot themselves in the foot every single day, and the scum were easily able to jump on that, especially with day talk.
But yeah, like I said, main thing to take away from this is not to totally trust flavor.
