Categories and Letters Revealed
Each round will have a category. The first round's category will always be "General." After the first round, the winner of the previous round will make up a new category. If no choice is made by the winner, "General" will be used. With the category, a series of letters, between 3 and 7, will be given. These letters are to be used as the beginning letters (in order) for the players' Acro.
After the category and letters have been revealed, players will have 48 hours to PM the Moderator their Acro. The Acro must use the letters given, in the order they were given. For example, if the category was "Why I was late to work," and the letters were "MHB," you might submit "My Honda broke." You cannot use "Because Mom's hospitalized," as the letters are not in the same order. Players should also keep the category in mind when making their Acro.
At the end of 48 hours or when all Acros have been received, the Moderator will post all Acros in random order. Players will then have 48 hours to PM the Moderator their vote, using the number next to the Acro of their choice. Players may not vote their own Acro, and must vote to receive points for their Acro. A player may vote if they failed to submit an Acro.
At the end of 48 hours or when all votes have been received, the Moderator will announce the results, including an updated list with player's names next to their Acro and points awarded for the round.
Points will be awarded for the following:
Votes on Acro:
Each player will receive 1 point for each vote made on their Acro. Most Popular:
The player with the most votes will receive extra points equal to the number of letters in the original acronym (i.e. 5 points for a 5-letter acro).Voting for Winner:
Each player that voted for the winner will receive 1 point.Fastest:
A random player who submits an acro in the first 24 hours and receives at least one vote will receive 2 points. Not Voting:
A player that does not vote will lose all points earned in the round.
If there is a tie for the most votes, the Acro that was submitted first will receive the bonus points.
The winner of the round has 48 hours to PM the Moderator the category for the next round. After the category is received, a new round will begin with new letters. If no category is received, or the player passes their choice, the category will be "General."
The winning score will be determined by the number of players:
30 points
- Less than 10 players40 points
- 10-19 players50 points
- More than 19 players
When a player reaches or surpasses the winning score, the game is over. The winner will be the player with the most points at the end of the game.
