KittyMo,

It takes 3 to lynch.

A win condition has been fufilled!

Flavour and Mod notes will be posted later but I would like to congratulate on

Nikanor, Starbuck and farside22 on their win as mafia team.

Mr Suave was lynched and he was a Vanilla Townie

KittyMo and ScorpionX have been endgamed and they were vanilla townie.

Suave, you're not going to get my sympathy here. You're the most rubbish player I've seen, it takes you ages to recognize a question is being asked of you, and you went after Nikanor for nothing but stupid meta. Even if you're so sure you've got scum, you still have to prove that you are actually looking at everyone else! You basically tunnelvisioned the whole game, luckily on scum, but nobody believed you for good reason.

XScorpion- Deliberate anti-town is nothing more than truly anti-town. If this doesn't cut out of your play, you only serve to confuse town.

Jazzmyn- As cop, you simply CANNOT be the most pro-town player in the game and textwall as insightfully as you did, or you'll draw a kill way too soon. But thanks for recognizing the farside-scum.

Nhammen's lynch was deserved- and I thought his reasoning for hopping on all the leading wagons when he replaced in was shoddy. Pwnman didn't help the situation, and I thought for sure he was going to flip red.

Lowell's lynch- deserved. You CANNOT as vanilla lurk to the extent you did. If that was a ploy to fake a powerrole, I wouldn't advise the lurking route, that just attracted too much attention. I was under a strong impression the lurking was a coptell, which was why I was adamantly defending you D1, and my jaw dropped when the VT flip came.

I had a hunch LoLa was active lurking to a scummy extent, but I didn't mention it as much as I thought I had. Shame, really. I wasn't following Starbuck much either, but then again, my obligation had long since passed. Even isoing her now, she doesn't do much to incur suspicious activity. Nikanor played it well, too, but you can't help but look good when all the cases on you came straight out of the dumpster. :)

Mod- Thanks for the flavor, no thanks for the intermittent activity. You've gotta post votecounts and update that first post much more frequently than you did in this game. My advice is to take the clutter out of the first post, it looks like you didn't want to go through the grudge of formatting everything correctly when you posted the deaths in plain text in the OP. Perhaps taking the text area formatting is a start?

A shame the game played out the way it did. But this endgame is a good indicator of why you simply cannot be a lazy or anti-town scumhunter, it muddies the waters to the point where scum can bring through figures shadier than themselves and then escape alive.

Ah, well. The Mafia got clean away from my scumdar, if I remember correctly. (If I don't, then most likely Nikanor tripped it off, but whatever.)

Nikanor/XScorpion was my guess at the end of the day.

Starbuck seemed clear because she was off the pwnman-wagon (which was waywayway too quick, though somewhat deserved) and MrSuave (while his lynch seemed deserved, the way farside treated him was unlikely)

But *shrug* good game scum :)

I agree with everything yabba said about MrSuave. Suave, you have to make form arguments! Saying that someone is scum based on gut, no matter how good your gut is, is not going to get a person lynched. You have to be able to pull things together to make a case.
Everyone can understand and agree with logical evidence; not very many people will follow a gut read.

it's just I'm used to rl mafia, where my gut is good and I can usually sweet talk people into following me to victory. you can't really do that in this game, untill near the end. that's why I seem kinda useless at first. think of me like a late game fire emblem character. bad at the start and good at the end. or a magicarp. =D

Interesting! I thought LoLa being lurky was scummy- yet you told him to go backwards anyway!

Yeah, this was definitely one of those games where I was just about as non-scummy as I could get, so I'm glad everyone's gut was not thinking me. And yeah, I'm with you guys on thinking Lowell was cop, but good for you for keeping him as a mislynch instead.

Process of elimination pretty much had me down to Nikanor and Starbuck, but I died before anything could come of my Starbuck investigation on night 3.

I regretted not claiming, as I felt I did something over the course of day 3 to give myself away.

There wasn't really any breadcrumbing to my results. I had innocents on KittyMo, and Nhammen. Out of those I trusted the Nhammen result less, but his later lynch on day 4 made me wish I had spoken up.

I wasn't really surprised when the scum turned out to be Nikanor and Starbuck though, I really didn't believe that Xscorpion or Suave were scum.

I'll forgo flavour and just post my analysis and post the order. The mafia tailor was
Starbuck

N1
Zachrulez investigates KittyMo
Jazzmyn investigates Yabba
Farside kills Yabbaguy
LL tailors Zach

N2
Jazzmyn investigated Nikanor
Zachrulez investigates nhmamen
Nikanor kills Jazzmyn
LL/Starbuck tailors MrSuave

N3
Nikanor killed Zachrules
Starbuck tailored Starbuck
Zachrulez investigated Starbuck

N4
Starbuck submitted the kill to kill Strangercoug

We totally hit both cops by accident, btw. If Suave and XScorp had been cops, we probably would have been screwed.

I would like to award the two MVPs for scum and townie.

First is Jazzmyn she wins the town MVP award. In fact she was PMing me and was able to catch all three scum after her death. Props to her.

For scum, I would like to say MrSuave wins this award due to his later game play. Once Suave hammered pwnman out of self defense instead of scumminess, this sealed the deal for Nikanor/Starbuck to coast in the endgame.

My personal notes are:

1. The mafia tailor was quite underwhelming. Statistically, its against the mafia tailor's favor to correctly tailor someone and mess up both cop's investigates. As designed for an element of WIFOM, One suggestion I have is:

Tailoring should be a group ability followed by a 3 goon setup

The Mafia Tailor was rendered quite powerless due to the correct kills that mafia did. Contradictory, yes, but mafia did a good job.

2. People need to do more rereads. Auto clearing Starbuck was one of the biggest mistakes. Given that Starbuck replaced LL who was heavily lurking. KittyMo was one of the few who broke the Starbuck is townie feel.

3. The newbie complex with pwnman should have been noted. Suave was too aggressive on that hammer given the circumstances of what pwnman did. However, pwnman did not really help the town cause since he didn't reread.

4. Too many lurkers. Ugh, I now understand the mod's pain to replace people. I had to post this thread like 3 times due to inactivity and edit my post to get more replacements. I was happy with the pregame selection on both ends since I felt that each side was pretty equal in experience and scumhunting ability. I was happy though.

I'm not sure why it should be made a group ability, personally, the element of having the tailor and not knowing when it was lynched had me 2nd guessing my results the entire game.

Personally.

1. I would find Nikanor the hardest scum to lynch. Maybe that's just me, but what impressed me the most was the early bus wagon on farside22 before the wagon got rolling by Jazz.

2. In the Lowell wagon, I would have attacked harder on Starbuck after that day. But her posts are typical of townie play which would be difficult to do.

@Zach

It wasn't reflective in your posts. But having fake flips is just as effective as having the tailoring powers I guess.

@Players
I'm going to fix up the front page for now. I'll try to be a better mod but I'm still finding the right balance of mafia and school :<.

Yeah, but you've got to think that the probability of the tailor actually targeting the right guy is one in twelve.

^ The main purpose of the tailor is to function is constant WIFOM so the cops second guess their results. I would consider those who generally are the most townies and the most scummy to be unreliable targets and focus on the middle null tell people.

I didn't see cop claims aside from Farside's fake one so.. lol there was no sense of WIFOM in my reads.
