Rules:

1.) Votes must be bolded and at the start of a line. If we don’t see it, we wont count it.

2.) Unvoting is nice, but not necessary.

3.) Once a majority is reached, that person is lynched.

4.) If there is no majority at deadline, there will be no lynch for that day.

5.) Day 1 will have an approximated deadline based on when the game starts – it will be no less than 10 days. All following days will have a deadline of 10 days.

6.)
This game is deep-south.
All actions must be in as of the lynch. No actions after then will be counted. Resolution is the same.


7.) Do not talk about this game outside the thread unless your role allows you to.

8.) When you die, you are dead. Stay that way.

9.) Do not edit posts. Do not use invisible text. Do not use small text.

10.) Do not quote any communication from the mod (that includes PMs) in the game thread.

11.) If you are going to be gone for an extended period of time, please let me know. See rule 12.

12.) With this being deepsouth - if you do not post for a consecutive 10 days you will be modkilled. Further, you will be blacklisted from any future games using the BaM ruleset. Keep in mind that there are no replacements in a BaM ruleset game.

13.) If you notice mistakes aside from the vote count, PM me. Bold notification about vote count issues in the thread.

14.) Play to win.

15.) Play with the spirit of the game in mind.

15.a.) This means ASK before you do something you think I might question. Questions are good. Modkills are bad. See rule 12.

16.) Have fun. Remember that everyone playing are actually real people and treat them as such.

The TWIST:


This game is an open setup. You KNOW that the following and only the following are in the game:
17 Townies
5 Mafia

However, what roles you have is a bit trickier. Roles will be assigned via draft.

How does this draft work you say?

Everyone will, when they /in, send me a PM with two numbers between 1 and 15 (X,Y). The first number closest to 1
that no one else picks
will get first pick. The next closest that no one picks will get second, etc. If you pick a X number that someone else has the Y number closest to 1 no one has picked will get to pick next. If two people have the exact same numbers then I will random.org.

Once all players that have the first number are done, all 2 numbers, then three:

An Example Draft:

Player 1: 4,9
Player 2: 1,4
Player 3: 3,5
Player 4: 1,7
Player 5: 1,4
Player 6: 15,15
Player 7: 15,14

The draft order would be:
Player 3
Player 1
Player 7
Player 6
Player 4
Players 2/5 based on random.

The Draft:


Once the order is done, you will then straight down the list attempt to pick a power role.
If someone above you on the list has picked that role you will be vanilla.


Note: The mafia will be able to talk before the draft begins for a period of approximately 24 hours.


The roles:
Cop wrote:Each night you may target a player. If successful, you will get a result of town or mafia.
Vig wrote:Each night you may target a player. If successful, you will kill this player.
Doc wrote:Each night you may target a player. If successful, you will prevent any and all kill attempts on that player. You may NOT target yourself.
Bulletproof wrote:You are bulletproof. You are immune to night kills.
Empowerer wrote:Each night you may target a player. If successful, that targets night action(s) will be successful.
Bomb wrote:You are the bomb. If you are successfully killed at night you will explode killing
all players
that targeted you.
Roleblocker wrote:Each night you may target a player. If successful, that target will not be able to perform any night actions.
Watcher wrote:Each night you may target a player. If successful, you will see all players who targeted that player that night.
Tracker wrote:Each night you may target a player. If successful, you will see all players that player targeted that night.
Role Cop wrote:Each night you may target a player. If successful, you will be given a result of what role that player has.
Universal Backup wrote:You will be given a copy of the first power role eliminated (lynch or night action) in this game. If multiple are killed simultaneously random.org will be used to decide your role.
One-Shot Governor wrote:Once during the game, you may PM me to stop a lynch on a specific player. If that player reaches majority, there will be no lynch and the game will then go to the night phase.
Neighborizer wrote:Each night you may send me two names. These two players may then communicate outside the thread. You may send your own name as one of the names.
Vengeful Lynchee wrote:If you are lynched you may post "Kill: X" (where X was on the wagon that lynched you). Both of you will then die at the end of that day.
Bodyguard wrote:Each night you may send me the name of one player. If that player is targeted for a kill action you will be killed instead. You may NOT target yourself.

General notes:

1.) The empowerer does, in fact, bypass all forms of protection (including bulletproof) if used for a kill.
2.) All anti-town factions have
in addition
to their powers if any the ability to have a member perfom a kill. Yes, that means they can use their power AND kill.
3.) All players have the same win condition: You win when all threats to your faction are eliminated or nothing can prevent the same from happening.
4.) This is a BaM game. Be clear with the rules, especially with holidays as a factor. I'd rather have this wait to fillup versus having to perform ANY modkills. Please, please do not make me modkill.
5.) I do reserve the right to not allow players in.
6.) Props go out to SomethingAwful for this idea that I am straight up stealing!
7.) I'm going to put votecounts at the top of the pages, a new one for me but with this many people I'm hoping that'll keep me up to date.

Game Related Questions:
*.) What happens if a bomb is doc protected and a kill goes through?
a.) Nothing. Bomb activates on a successful kill attempt.

*.) What happens if the bomb is roleblocked and killed?
a.) As a passive effect, the bomb will still explode.

*.) What happens when everyone picks the same role?
a.) You get a mostly mountainous game! Cheers all around!

*.) Isn't putting questions here going to give people some extra insight into what has been picked?
a.) You think that all these questions were asked by people? ;) WIFOM the mod if you want - its kind of the spirit of this game!

But, to clear something up that was asked last page:

I don't get the draft order process. It seems to me that "player 4" would be second to pick because of the 7 that he chose....

Also, will you tell us what our draft position is before we have to send in our pick?
An Example Draft:

Player 1: 4,9
Player 2: 1,4
Player 3: 3,5
Player 4: 1,7
Player 5: 1,4
Player 6: 15,15
Player 7: 15,14

The draft order would be:
Player 3
Player 1
Player 7
Player 6
Player 4
Players 2/5 based on random.
The reason that order is the way it is (and this is how this one works as well) is that the numbers that are picked singulary (X) go first, then the ones that are doubled (X), THEN the ones that are tripled (X).

Within X sets, the (Y) number is used for order just like the X is in the first parse. So that final set is:

Player 3: 3,5 <-- Single X
Player 1: 4,9 <-- Single X
Player 7: 15,14 <--- Double X, Y closer
Player 6: 15,15 <--- Double X, Y farther
Player 4: 1,7 <--- Triple X, Y single
Player 2: 1,4 <--- Triple X, Y same (random)
Player 5: 1,4 <--- Triple X, Y same (random)

So, hope that clears that up. Player 4 goes before 2 and 5 because the 7 is a single.

AND, apparently I'm a little slow or using the wrong terminology:

All actions will be submitted during the day at any time before the lynch.

These will be compiled and done like a "night" would normally run - the difference is that I'll be only closing the thread for a moment and that these actions must be in before the lynch.

I thought that was deepsouth but its... not?
