I saw little problem with KittyMo when she said she'd vote who wound up being me for random voting. I still don't, so obviously, the problem arose when she tried to get someone else to spark discussion, your second quote. Perhaps my ideal of everybody thinking for themselves isn't true. In real life, I'm the kind of person that likes to teach a man to fish rather than give him a fish.Jazzmyn wrote:StrangerCoug: His vote on Kitty in post 61 was pretty poor. Even worse is his later trying to justify it by claiming that Kitty was "stalling discussion" by her response to yabba's questioning of her "plan". That wasn't "stalling discussion" - that was snark and a bit of an appeal to emotion. I don't know whether this is SC distancing from Kitty or just jumping on a bandwagon with a crap reason.
I have a scummy meta of MrSuave. My question was if it was his playstyle or legitimately scummy actions; I have decided the latter, hence "Now I am sure." I know that I have a scummy meta, but I also know that there are scum tells that still work well on me. That's how I'm going about MrSuave.Jazzmyn wrote:I also find it suspicious how SC telegraphed his vote for MrS (150) before making it and then seemed to have to be prodded by yabba into actually laying down the vote (more on this when I get to farside), despite saying "Now I am sure." Something just doesn't feel right about that although, again, I waffle a bit on this because of that last game with Nikanor and MrS, because SC was in that game, too, and I know that he was absolutely convinced that MrS was scum in that game, and I remember being suspicious of MrS then too, even though he turned out to be town. So, part of me understands SC's hesitation here, but I still don't understand the "Now I am sure" part.
Speak up when you do know, but the Lowell-KittyMo scum connection was something I accused XScorpion of stretching to make, not a connection I made myself. I didn't view Lowell as suspicious until I voted him.Jazzmyn wrote:Then, at 203, SC moved his vote to XS after SC voted for Lowell and potentially tied Lowell to Kitty as scum, which I don't know what to make of.
As I said, I forgot Locke Lamore was even in the game. You can't be called out for lurking in a game in which you are not playing, can you? Therefore, my thinking, though I must admit that you have a good point.Jazzmyn wrote:I didn't like his post 229 where he said he hadn't noticed anyone lurking, as it was bloody obvious that Scott/nhammen and Locke Lamora were both lurking up a storm at that point so badly that they had posted virtually no content at all. I note this because I think it's very telling that a player doesn't notice that there are severe lurkers at that point in a game (i.e. approaching deadline), which makes me think that scum is pretending not to notice a lurking scumpartner.
I thought the distribution of votes between them was more even.Jazzmyn wrote:Lastly, SC's late change of vote in 261 looks bad to me. He unvoted XS saying, "let's make my vote useful" but instead of voting for Lowell who was the only player likely to be lynched at the deadline by that point (as he had 5 votes to Zach's 3 and MrS's 2), he moved his vote to MrS, which was pretty pointless, and not "useful" as he claimed.STRANGERCOUG: Stranger Than You!

One, Nikanor was the first to bring it up, by calling her a liar when it didn't get posted the night she said she would. In fact, when I do, I address him. Two, I was unwilling to put stock in it because some RL issue of hers always seems to come up in games we're in together.Zachrulez wrote:Anyway, what I find interesting on top of Jazz's points on Strangercoug not noticing people lurking on day 1 is the way he seemed to be drawing attention to Jazz's lack of timeliness on her promised content . You took me out of context. I concede to saying little to all the arguments against it, but I was against it too, not in favor of it. By "I don't care if we all massclaimed 'I investigated X and got a Y on them'," I meant that I view it as scummy as proposing that the two cops out themselves, which I interpreted Lowell as saying in what I quoted in 291. I wanted a step ahead of Lowell, and I believe he backtracked into saying the hypoclaims were all he wanted.Jazzmyn wrote:I'm also noting that SC in his post 291 proposed hypodoc claiming, too (I'd missed that previously), and he has not said a word in response to all of the very sound arguments for why it is a bad idea.STRANGERCOUG: Stranger Than You!

I have to agree with you here. There is a Mafia tailor and no roleblocker, and the tailor probably told the rest of the Mafia his or her target. Therefore, in a hypoclaim situation, somebody claiming a correct result on a player that was tailored that night can be ruled out as a cop, thus narrowing down the pool.Jazzmyn wrote:

No it does not. If it does at all, it's only by a trivial amount in favor of scum, who knows who should be showing up as innocent and who should be showing up as guilty. Stop insisting that the town can benefit from hypoclaiming.

Clarifying ≠ backtracking. Jazzmyn misinterpreted the tone of my statement, so I explained that how she took it does not make sense. Read between the lines.farside22 wrote:Jazz brought it up in her comments as well and SC backtracked the statement here:
You took me out of context. I concede to saying little to all the arguments against it, but I was against it too, not in favor of it. By "I don't care if we all massclaimed 'I investigated X and got a Y on them'," I meant that I view it as scummy as proposing that the two cops out themselves, which I interpreted Lowell as saying in what I quoted in 291. I wanted a step ahead of Lowell, and I believe he backtracked into saying the hypoclaims were all he wanted.

My vote is opportunist? *scoffs* You have been supporting the hypocliam idea long after it was supposed to have been beaten down and explained to death why it favors scum. As for your other point, you're reading the game even less than I am; if you weren't, you would have attacked me over the "I don't care about hypoclaiming" statement close to when Jazzmyn did, not after she stopped doing so.farside22 wrote:

OK, here's the deal:
One, I don't see how it makes sense to talk about the hypoclaim the way she did and continues to do when she's one of the cops; therefore, I don't know what the hell she was thinking when she did so. She was right to claim at L-1, but I doubt her claim.
Two, I would expect farside22 to be experienced enough not to be defending the case on her with WIFOM. If she is town, she should have checked the game and made sure what she said happened really happened. That she didn't is a bad mark on her. And before she calls it idiotic for scum to be doing, I've done idiotic moves as scum too—and after I consider myself to have started improving my game.
Three, I still think Lowell is her scumbuddy. That he's quick to believe her result leads me to believe that farside22 is the tailor. If I'm right as to her role, I want at least one of the real cops to investigate Lowell tonight. I'll leave how to go about the result without getting outted (ISTILLwant them hidden right now) up to that person.

So everyone's theory is thus:
farside, as a desperate scum, decided to claim cop, and ALSO IMPLICATE HER SCUMBUDDY by "clearing" him? Someone tell me why that makes sense.
I swear to god, if I ever had a scumbuddy who did this to me, I would bus the crap out of them, then find them in real life and punch them in the face.
vote scorpion. He's the most smug about this idiotic idea.
One other note: the remaining cop is now useless.
How farside22 would implicate you by "clearing" you is very simple: she likely knew who was tailored, and all signs point to you as the one tailored. You were quick to believe her false investigation, and you've been very defensive lately.
OMGUS doesn't get you anywhere.

While it's possible that XScorpion is bussing Lowell, I feel that this is a harsh way of doing it, so I don't think they're both scum. I like the path I'm taking, but it's not the only path—there may be other good ones out there.STRANGERCOUG: Stranger Than You!

I apologize all. I've tried to start reading and with the above as well as the site's constant errors, it's been hard trying to read. I'm barely past the 3rd page.
If anyone knows how I catch up, I try to do a wall-o-text per game day. It's been tough with the craziness work has brought me in the past week, as well as the site's errors. I have posted in other games, but it's games that I started from the beginning and I have no need to catch up on.
If someone can tell me the above information, or if the first post can be updated, it would be greatly appreciated.STRANGERCOUG: Stranger Than You!

We could not come to a consensus for who should be lynched on Day 1. I was trying to open up a path of discussion to see if that was better than what I perceived would happen—just keep going from where Day 1 discussion left off. Apparently, that didn't have the effect I wanted.Starbuck wrote:On StrangerCoug
