Peabody screams as the mob leap on top of him and subdue him.

"What are you doing?? Get off me!" he shouts as you drag him towards a large wooden stake surrounded by kindling.
"Oh god no. Please, I swear I'm Town!" he yells, but the mob unflinchingly strap him to the pole. Then one of you produces a flaming torch.

As it arcs through the air towards the petrol-soaked wood at Peabody's feet, the look of terror in his eyes will haunt each of you forever. You turn away as he is engulfed in the flames, and cover your ears to block out the screams of agony.

The sound of a large explosion makes you snap awake. As you groggily stagger to the window, you see a scene of total carnage. You rush outside.

Rosso Carne's house is now a pile of rubble and ash. Parts of it are still on fire, and as you watch, Rosso drags himself out from under a mound of bricks. His broken body reaches out for help, before a final breath escapes his lips.

Looking round in shock at the rest of the Town, you realise that someone else is missing from the group.


Looker's house seems fine from the outside, but upon closer inspection it seems the lock has been broken. Pushing open the door, you take a tentative peep inside.

"Looker? Looooookerrrrr? Come see, Rosso's been blo- Oh my God."

Looker lies slumped on the floor. Blood and brains cover the opposite wall. It looks like he was shot execution-style in the back of the head.

"Jesus, this is carnage!"

MOD: What happens if the SK does not send in a kill request? Is the SK required to kill each night as the role sometimes forces him to?

The SK in this game is compulsive, i.e. they must kill every night. If they do not submit a kill choice, I randomly choose on their behalf from all living players in the game, including them. This gives them extra incentive to submit a choice, as they might randomly end up killing themselves.

The mob gathers around AlmasterGM, beating and punching him. You begin to drag him towards the gallows set up in the Town square, but with an unexpected burst of strength he wrenches himself free. He whips a knife from his pocket.

"Screw you guys!" he yells. You flinch as he moves suddenly, fearing the feel of cold steel, but when you look back, Almaster has embedded the blade in his own heart. As he drops to the floor, you gather round him in confusion.

"Well that was unexpected."

A quick rifle through his pockets makes his actions seem even more bizarre - he was one of you after all!

Apologies to all, but I'm having some internet difficulties with my home computer. I'm posting this from uni. I'll get back on track ASAP, your patience is appreciated

The gentle sound of birds twittering eases you awake.Stretching, you squint out the window at the dancing golden beams of sunlight filtering through the leaves of the trees. The soft swaying and swishing of the branches in the breeze soothes you, and you could almost believe that this nightmare was at an end.

That is, until you open your front door.

Zachrulez' body hangs limply from two thick wooden stakes driven through his wrists, crucifying him high on the town gates. A lake of blood stains the cobbles beneath him, having poured from a deep ragged gash along his neck. Scrawled on the walls next to him, with his blood the ink, are the words:

YOU'RE NEXT

A card is stuffed in his throat. Removing it with the help of ladders, you discover that it's a membership card. "Order of the Floating Hippopotomus - Thursday is poker + nachos night!"

Once everyone is assembled, you do a quick headcount. It looks like there might be more carnage yet to be revealed.

Konowa lies curled on the floor of his kitchen, surrounded by a pool of vomit and blood. His skin has turned a horrible shade of purple, and his tongue and mouth are black, his hands still clutching his keys. His poor pet cat, Tiddles, is licking the remains of his dinner. As you watch in horror, the cat begins to twitch and screech. It writhes on the floor in agony, vomiting until it begins to throw up blood. Eventually its pain fades, and the poison completes its gruesome task.

The mob pounces on RayFrost, forcing him to the ground. Cries of pain fill the air as you punch, kick, headbutt and bite anything you can. RayFrost tries to fend off the blows, but he begins to grow weak and dizzy from the beating.

You drag him over the cobbles, a river of blood marking the passage like a wake. You throw him towards the town's fountain, and force his head under the surface of the water. The bubbles explode from Ray's mouth as he screams in terror.

You pull him back up, coughing and gasping hungrily for air.
"Who are your scumbuddies??" you scream in his face.

He slowly turns and looks you in the eye. A sly grin spreads across his face.

"Go to hell."


The next time, you don't bring him back up.

J-Fox sneaks from shadow to shadow, flitting across the Town square like a ghost. He pauses and looks around, checking for late-night observers. Seeing no-one, he continues making his way to ChiboSempai's house. As he approaches the door, he readies his lockpicks. My Mafia training will pay dividends tonight, he thinks to himself as he sets to work.
Then he hears a faint rustling in his ear. It takes a second to realise that it's the barrel of a gun, brushing through his hair.

canadianbovine lies concealed in the bushes outside Haylen's house, watching and waiting for Haylen to make a move. It's been hours, and still no sign of life. "Have I missed her?" canadianbovine wonders to himself.
Then he hears the snapping of a branch behind him, and sees the glint of a garotte wire passing over his head.

"Hands where I can see them, scum!" ChiboSempai growls from the shadows beside his doorway.

J-Fox slowly raises his hands and clasps them behind his head, then turns to look Chibo in the eye. "Not bad, for a Townie. But not good enough."

In a flash, J-Fox draws the concealed dagger from his sleeve and slashes brutally across Chibo's hand. Yelping in pain, Chibo drops the gun to the floor. J-Fox dives towards it, but Chibo quickly flicks it away across the square with his foot, before viciously kicking at J-Fox's head. Staggered from the blow, J-Fox crumples to the ground.
With a roar, Chibo leaps on J-Fox's back. Grabbing his head, Chibo begins smashing his face off the cobbles.

"Hey, CB," Haylen whispers, as she chokes the life from the scrabbling, twitching canadianbovine, "Guess what? Tonight I'm targeting you."

CB thrashes violently, trying to gain purchase on the slick ground. He claws desperately at Haylen's face, hoping to scratch the eyes, or at least get a grip on something, anything.
"Ssshhh, sssshhhh, don't fight it, it's OK," Haylen whispers in his ear tenderly. "It'll all be over soon, and you'll be reunited with your friend RayFrost. Just imagine him. Sssshhh..."

With a sudden burst of energy, J-Fox whips his head backwards, breaking Chibo's nose. The unexpected blow loosens Chibo's grip and J-Fox is able to scrabble free. Half running, half crawling, he makes for Chibo's gun. Seizing it from where it lies, he spins round and takes aim.

Chibo has snatched up the dagger from where it lay on the ground. Grinning through a stream of blood, his arm begins the forward arc.

J-Fox squeezes the trigger as the blade flies from Chibo's grip.

Chibo's head snaps backwards as the bullet hits him directly between the eyes. He slumps downwards, dead before he hits the ground.

The blade buries itself to the hilt in J-Fox's neck. He collapses to the floor in agony, unable even to scream, his heart treacherously pumping the blood from his body. Within seconds, he has bled to death.

Pomegranate whirls around in horror. There's nothing there. Then she sees the glint of metal passing over her head.

FYI, the game was a mafia win on day 3.

Mafia win condition was

You win when the Mafia make up more than 50% of the remaining players.

That, combined with rule 6:

6 - A lynch requires a simple majority vote. A no-lynch requires votes from a simple majority.

If a deadline is reached no lynch is achieved.

Meant that, if they

had

all aligned themselves as Chibo suggested on the same wagon at the start of D3, they would have outed themselves as the Mafia.
No-one would be killed that Day, and with 2 non-Mafia kills (SK and Vig) versus 1 Mafia kill, they would have indubitably lost if they'd tried that tactic.

I'm not sure if they realised this, or just didn't think of that plan at all.

Personally, I really didn't much care for the setups when I realized that a paticular day could have as many as 4 deaths, and dreaded how swingy this game was going to be from the start.

This concept would probably run better as a large game IMO.

What do you mean by "swingy"? That it could go either way?

Well yeah, good use of your role can change the game for your team, but surely that's true of every Mafia game.
In an F11 game, a D1 scum lynch with a N1 guilty by the cop has a D2 victory as well. I'm sure it hardly ever happens though, just like a 2-day win would be unlikely but possible in this setup.

For scum, it would require:
Vig in the setup
D1 Town lynch, not the Vig (11 players, 3 scum)
all 3 NKs on Townies, none on Vig (8 players, 3 scum)
D2 Townie lynch, not the Vig (7 players, 3 scum)
Vig and SK NKs avoid scum (4 players, 3 scum)
thus giving a win before D3 starts.

For Town, it would require:
Vig in the setup
D1 scum lynch
scum NK the SK, SK and Vig kill other two scum
giving a win before D2 starts.


So yeah, possible, but incredibly unlikely.

This is the first setup I've done on my own before though, so you might be right and it's not very well balanced. Did anyone else think this?

I'd have to play the game through to see if the town could still lose by lynching correctly as well. (With the worst case death scenarios.)

Regarding this, I suppose it would go:

Vig in the setup
D1 scum lynch (11 players, 2 scum, 1 SK)
all 3 NKs on Townies, not the Vig (8 players, 2 scum, 1 SK)
D2 scum lynch (7 players, 1 scum, 1 SK)
all 3 NKs on Townies, not the Vig (5 players, 1 scum, 1 SK)
D2 scum/SK lynch (5 players, 1 scum/SK)
2 NKs on Townies (3 players, 1 scum/SK)
D4 lynch final scum/SK for the win.

So no, correct lynches guarantee a Town win, even with worst-case NKs.

You're forgetting the cult recruit failure resulting in the cult leader's death.

Bugger.

When I've run this setup on other forums, it has in fact had a few more VTs in it. Obviously since my first modded game on MS had to be a Mini, I was limited to 12 players here. Ideally, I'd have rather had ~14, which I think should provide the insulation needed to counter what you're talking about.
