Who do you want to be project manager, what are your opinions on their qualifications, etc.

If I am chosen as PM, I will try my hardest to properly utilize my team's talents.

I think we have a reasonable chance of taking this one home - I think their flash presentation is probably far too over-done, and I think their name is rather awful. Thanks to Cayke for supplying me with both for my consideration.

The strongest member of my team was easily +; he came up with the name Virgo, as well as finding the font for our logo. The weakest was most definitely Max. He did nothing but complain and contributed absolutely nothing. Honorable mentions for that spot include Zazie, who did nothing, and pacman, who wanted us to name our team "Ponzi".

I'm willing to take another go at PM if you'll have me; alternatively I'd like to suggest + (as he was the key contributor to the last challenge) or Max (put up or shut up).

This is a tough question. I can see a case for PEG if he isn't really doing much. I can see a case for farside/Sens as my sources tell me they came up with the slogan (but mostly farside, as i heard she was part of the "Still Kicking Mob" fiasco as well), but I can see a better case for Korts for knowing that the slogan was shit and not overruling his team. The other person I can see a case for is Cayke, solely because she gave me so much info about their stuff last task, and then voted with our shared alts this task and blamed it on me, which is just completely devoid of class. I did not vote with my alts - that would have made it a 92 vote victory.

All in all, I'd say Korts for knowing it was a terrible slogan and then just allowing it by majority rule. He should have put his foot down and had the balls to reject the idea.

Yes, she was. She leaked firstly the fact that they were making a flash, then she leaked the team name, then she leaked the flash itself. Then she lied.

EDIT: Unfortunately, logging on the computer where the leaking occured is not functioning properly, so no.

Yes, considering our best score was near $320, and from their quicktopic (the one I set up for them that they're still using), their best was a $78.28 by Max.

The reason why there were only four submissions is that we were using a tiered submission process. PEG was to submit first, then me, then Panzer, then Sens and Cayke. I left for a while at around 12:45 PM, which was when Cayke was to submit her score. She was on AIM at the time, she did not have to leave until 3:30. I reminded her. She failed to submit anyways. KMD was told to submit as well after 1 PM, and he also failed to be online. Farside was unable to load the task and thus unable to complete it. If we did lose, I will likely be bringing Cayke and KMD back to the boardroom with me.

Drench wrote:
Drench, was + an effective leader? Why did you not submit?
I heard nothing from + throughout the whole challenge, and I didn't really see any leadership from him, nor any effects leadership from him would have caused. In this situation, I think + didn't do as well as what we needed.

As for the second part of the question, a combination of time, circumstance and (unfortunately) sheer procrastination led to non-submission from me.
Mr. Trump, allow me to add to this statement. On a message on the Virgo quicktopic dated 3/31/09 at 10:44 PM ET, Drench made the following statement:
Drench wrote:Final Income: $299.43
Final Expenses: $237.75
Liquidated Inventory Value: $3.62

Final Profit: $65.30
So his time excuse is a crock. It does not take that long to upload a screenshot and PM it.

Animorpherv1 should be fired, for obvious reasons, profit of $5 is really poor, in 7 days he should easily have been able to make a profit of $20

I should not be fired because I gave the highest score and because in the last few hours I tried to rally around to get as many additional entries as possible
1. First task, you showed up and said "i'm not contributing." You then showed up and suggested the name "Juvenescense", citing that neither Growth nor Virgo were "good enough". I shot it down, citing that yours sounded like a shitty mainstream goth metal band. You spent the rest of the task whining.

2. Second task, you contributed jack shit and complained all the way.

3. Third task, you string together your best effort, which still fucking sucks. Hint: I hit that on my first 7-day game. You then spent the rest of the time complaining.

Animo I agree on.

+ is a terrible person to fire; there was not much to do as project manager this task except coordinate when things were sent in. He excelled and pretty much won the entire task for us last time single-handedly. You know, the one that you contributed jack shit to except changing your sig as if anyone gives enough of a shit to read your posts.

So yeah, two who should go are animo and Max.

Where you doubt my commitment to the team, probably because you feel I have some sort of grudge against you, and say that "well, I take full responsibility for my actions!" when we had the gigantic conversation over me daring to say that ShadowGirl not contributing when she was clearly around and looking for direction could ever possibly be the project manager's fault.

Somewhat. I feel that Sens did an OK job of coordinating; I feel that the team as a whole sort of refused to participate in the majority of the task, but I don't think Sens was pushing people enough
to
participate.

Unfortunately, my fears that Sens would become only slightly less dictatorial and iron-fisted than Mussolini were well-founded, as he quickly became one of the most egotistical and insufferable people I have ever worked for. Half of the time he was bitching about how "nobody was participating", and the rest of the time he was telling us that our work wasn't good enough and otherwise complaining.

For example, I spent the majority of the task working with Cayke on the riddles. We both agreed that Sens was becoming the biggest douche in the world throughout the task, and so frustratedly when Sens was going to screw up one of the submissions, she said he was being fucking retarded. He then attacked her for doing "shit all" when she'd helped me with half of my contributions. In the meantime, he completely let farside, Panzer and PEG slide by while doing nothing.

This is an example of the egotism that we had to put up with throughout the task, and honestly, he's the biggest problem on this team right now. Last task, he IM'd me early on with a score of like... $120 iirc. He said "I'm sending this in now", to which I had to yell at him to stop. Even when he's not in charge, he has that stubborn need to ignore the authority in charge and do things his own way. That needs to stop.

Alos, as an aside, KMD is an idiot.

I called them out in the QT, in addition to PMing everyone to come to the QT. What more do you want from me, JDodge? To go knock on people's doors?
I would rather you seem like you're making an effort to get people to participate. You can't just say "oh I PM'd them once" and then argue that you actually got them working.
Sens wrote:
JDodge wrote:Unfortunately, my fears that Sens would become only slightly less dictatorial and iron-fisted than Mussolini were well-founded, as he quickly became one of the most egotistical and insufferable people I have ever worked for.
Funny how you never mentioned that to me during the entire challenge, isn't it? In fact, and I regret that I don't have the log, as the challenge was starting, you told me how you and I were by far the most contributing and important members of the team.
You were contributing. You were important insofar that you were Project Manager. And I did say at one point that your attitude was really starting to piss me off.
Sens wrote:
JDodge wrote:Half of the time he was bitching about how "nobody was participating", and the rest of the time he was telling us that our work wasn't good enough and otherwise complaining.
What about the time when I was coming up with 2 of the 4 riddle submissions? What about the HOURS I put into solving the riddles? Also, now you are bitching that I spent too much time bitching how no one was participating, when just a minute ago you said I wasn't pushing people enough to participate. Which one is it?
You were privately bitching to me that nobody was participating while not actively getting people to participate. In the meantime, you refuse to tackle the fact that you continually put down our work in order to tout your own accomplishments. Way to show your self-absorption, Sens.
Sens wrote:
JDodge wrote:For example, I spent the majority of the task working with Cayke on the riddles. We both agreed that Sens was becoming the biggest douche in the world throughout the task, and so frustratedly when Sens was going to screw up one of the submissions, she said he was being fucking retarded.
Nope. I never said I was going to submit that (which was WRONG anyways, though that's irrelevant, I suppose). Farside asked me which riddles had been solved, so I posted 2-3 words about each of the solved riddles, and summed up that one with "114=14 in 100". If you are interested, I submitted VERY detailed and explained answers.
You still nearly screwed it up.
sens wrote:
JDodge wrote:He then attacked her for doing "shit all" when she'd helped me with half of my contributions.
When me summing up the riddle was called "fucking retarded", yes I did quickly, on the spur of the moment, reply that she hadn't done shit all, since she really hadn't done all that much IN THE QT. In fact, as soon as is was brought to my attention, by you, that she had been helping you a lot, I responded that "I didn't know that, Dodge. I just saw someone that hasn't posted much in-thread coming in and critisizing a quick summary I made of the questions we had solved." Later that night, I felt really bad for what I had done, and offered a full apology to cayke.
That's nice. It still showed that you're egotistical and can't take it when anyone would dare to question you.
Sens wrote:
JDodge wrote:In the meantime, he completely let farside, Panzer and PEG slide by while doing nothing.
After you and I are the only ones that even ATTEMPTED to come up with riddles, I called everyone else out. Again, what more do you want from me, Dodge?
I want more than just a simple "oh well" and throwing up your hands. I want you on their ass constantly until they get themselves going. I have two wins as project manager because I was constantly getting my team involved and telling them that they were going to participate whether they like it or not. You have one loss because you failed to do so.
Sens wrote:
JDodge wrote:This is an example of the egotism that we had to put up with throughout the task, and honestly, he's the biggest problem on this team right now.
Really? Earlier, as the task was starting, you told me we were the most productive on the team. And even if you happen to think I was controlling as PM, was that not allowable, given that my ass is on the line if we lose? I mean, you pretty much dictated exactly who could submit when last time, and no one complained then.
You are the second-most productive on the team. You are also the biggest problem on the team. The two are not mutually exclusive. And yes, I did dictate exactly who could submit and when because the task required it. Would you rather I have just let everyone submit whenever the hell they wanted and end up like Virgo with a $5 submission for the triple?
Sens wrote:
JDodge wrote:Last task, he IM'd me early on with a score of like... $120 iirc. He said "I'm sending this in now", to which I had to yell at him to stop.
Yes, I did. As I explained to you, I misread the challenge, and thought that it was the first, second, etc... OVERALL to get the increased points. I also had forgotten we had a tribe QT. And forgive me, but you didn't need to "yell at me." You told me I shouldn't, and I immediately said ok, I didn't argue.
You were still insubordinate, which is the point.
Sens wrote:
JDodge wrote:Even when he's not in charge, he has that stubborn need to ignore the authority in charge and do things his own way.
Again, we talked about this at the last challenge. And if this really bothered you all that much, why wasn't this brought up then?
Because we won that task.
Sens wrote:
JDodge wrote:That needs to stop.
Telling me privately would have accomplished the same thing, you know. Especially since we've talked about half of this, and you privately told me OTHER things about the other half.

Oh, and for extra hypocrisy:
[23:09] SensPizzaLine: So I saw your post in the BR
[23:09] jdodge1019: it's nothing personal, just my thoughts on your management style
[23:10] SensPizzaLine: Can I ask why its a very different tune to when you flat-out told me you didn't want me fired privately
[23:10] SensPizzaLine: ?
[23:10] jdodge1019: i don't want you fired
I don't want you fired, but you quite conveniently left this out:

[11:10:12 PM] senspizzaline: ?
[11:10:20 PM] jdodge1019: i don't want you fired
[11:10:26 PM] jdodge1019: but i'm not going to lie to protect you either

I would say I would be most happy if KMD were fired. I feel he screwed up this task, offered little help in solving the riddles aside from poor translation, and has done near-nothing the first three tasks.

Yes, Sens was a good PM. He did the majority of the work.
Bullshit he did the majority of the work.
I
did the majority of the work.
I'm
the one who came up with two of the riddles, plus a brilliant one that Sens fucked up the submission of.
I'm
the one who caught your translation error, as well as solving a couple of riddles (albeit I did read my hex number chart wrong; my C in the C answer was right if you convert the hex to base-8). You are also completely ignoring Sens' cavalier and confrontational attitude towards the rest of the team as well as his egotism and self-absorption. Tell you what, next task, I want you to be PM. I'm tired of you skating by and doing nothing but protecting your little buddies.
KMD wrote:I'd fire PEG or Panzer as they did next to nothing.
Panzer is always limited access on weekends. PEG was out at a concert and whatnot. What's your excuse for the first two tasks again?

Anyone can translate with google, and as usual your submissions came far too late. You're never there when we actually need you.
KMD wrote:The reason he is calling me "an idiot" is because part of the translation came back wrong. I fail to see how that's my fault. I translated with google language tools and directly copied and pasted straight to the QT. If he had a better translation, he should have posted it.

Sorry where did I once say I blamed you? I said you, Panzer and peg slid by while doing nothing. This is the truth. Sens also never pushed for any of you to contribute, and frankly for someone with such limited access, you did a good amount of posting on the QT.

Nope. We had a horrific concept that Max came up with and decided to go with before anyone even had the chance to weigh in, I was away at work all weekend and didn't have the time nor the energy to come rushing in at the last minute and save our asses like I have in tasks prior. Meanwhile, Cayke worked on the task alone while iamausername and kmd remained useless. I've noticed that KMD only steps up when it's his ass on the line.

Excuse me?

You have the gall to say you'd have no problem with me being fired for being away for most of this task when I have a 2-0 record as PM, set you on the right track for your term as PM and have in general contributed more than anyone to every task we've had so far when all you've done is contribute jack shit except when your ass was on the line for it?

Because quite simply I suck at chess - I even had a massive advantage but made one wrong move and screwed it up.

It was a pretty bad decision to assign me to chess. Iam claims to have done research, but anyone researching would notice that I never had the patience to finish a game and I was always losing. He can't claim to have done research and overlook such a glaring fact. In fact, the only reason I was in the chess tournament to begin with was to fill out the field.

Either Iam or Prozac should be fired. Personally, I would say iam; his predecessor did nothing, and he honestly hasn't done anything worth mentioning. In the picture-finding task, he even supplied the tool which I used to find the majority of the images for the task. He was just too lazy to use it. Meanwhile, Porochaz has mostly been busy with other things and has a 1-0 record as Project Manager. I don't think one can have a 1-0 record and have it said they've done almost nothing for the team.

I was PM on the previous task, we won, so I had a 1-0 record at that time. So basically, you're completely contradicting yourself here.
That was then, this is now. You have a 1-1 record now.
iam wrote:And as far as "too lazy to use it", that's just utter bullshit. You found four of the images using the tool that, as you say, I supplied (and without which, we would have had a lot fewer images to submit). I found two that I posted, plus one I rejected based on the assumption that the size of the images had to match (and that one was one of the four you found). I later found two more images in the right size that we'd already found in the wrong size. I made a wrong assumption, sure, but I was absolutely not lazy in that task.
Yeah, but you were still too lazy to use your own tool. The only thing you weren't too lazy to do is reject one of my submissions for a lame reason.
iam wrote:

Information that I did not have. There was nothing in the chess tournament thread to indicate that you didn't sign up purely because you wanted to, and your stated reason for dropping out was that you didn't have the time, not that you didn't have the interest. I don't see why I should have assumed you were lying.
You're still missing the point of "I suck at chess", which is also obvious to anyone who looks at those games.
iam wrote:Let me ask you, how do you think I should have assigned the games? How would you have done it?
I would've swapped myself and Prozac, and you and +.
iam wrote:
Porochaz wrote:He has now failed a task as PM and honestly off the top of my head I cant think of anything useful he has done...
I've also WON a task as PM. That was pretty useful, I think.
But you still failed this task, which is the point. And quite frankly, you won the last task for two reasons:

1. The other team failed to submit
2. I found most of the pictures
iam wrote:And, for the record, when he didn't post in this thread at all the day the tasks went up, I did send a PM to + to make sure that he was aware that the task had started. Beyond that, there really wasn't anything to do as a manager; this task was about individual skills, not the ability to work in a team. But I think I proved on the previous task that I can manage effectively when teamwork
is
on the table.
First of all, in business, you need to know the strengths of your employees to succeed. You need to be able to properly utilize them. You have proven yourself unable to do this.

Secondly, you didn't really prove you can manage effectively since we won after I ignored your orders and found over half the images on my own.

I find it amusing that you can't find anything to attack on my record in this game and you have to resort to personal accusations to try and get your point across.

Porochaz wrote:Im taking which is true from elsewhere on the site because you are complaining about me being inactive when in the year and a half Ive been here I havent been replaced once in any game where you are known for being totally inactive in other games, its pot calling the kettle black. In this game sure you've been active, Im not trying to put you down here. I want to win this next task and I won't resort to trying to take you down before the task has actually started. I need to know your performance for the tasks that we have been in together. I have a thread to pull back from for everything else and Im sure Jathan can make reasoned desicions... I have my opinions of you in this game but I think its a better idea to focus on this next task rather than trying to take your other team members down. Hopefully it won't come to that.
And I need to know your performance as PM.

Glad we can reach this agreement that you're our PM for the next task.

Porochaz wrote:Oh never mind. Cayke obviously has absolutely no idea what she is talking about. Based on previous experience I found Max to be decent. The others I dont know however I did find pickem to be fairly quiet and useless during at least one of the other tasks. As for this task, I did it
all
myself. Wait thats not entirely true. JDodge didnt like the podium in the video so I took it out. The event planning was done entirely by me, the photos were done entirely by me.

JDodge made a reply early on, when I suggested the event stating a lot of what he didnt like but not really offering anything else. + made a reply about 40 minutes before I sent in what I did. Suggesting that we use "cute animals" instead. I was out in RL that night so when I came back and found nothing there to use I went with what was mostly my original idea and built the event off of that.

When I say JDodge and + did nothing during this task I really do mean nothing. Its also not like I didnt try, the quicktopic was made early on and I suggested my idea in the first post. I also sent out a reminder that I needed help early Friday morning when the quicktopic only had 2 posts by me and 1 by JDodge.

I dont know what the other 4 did, so I cant choose anyone out of them however my two "team"mates. 1 complained how I didnt do anything during the previous task, insisted that I be Project Manager, then did a miniscule amount. The other didnt turn up, up until after the deadline, posted some pictures about cute animals and suggest that the litost theme was crap and we should go with this instead. The members of my team were a joke and I would be happy with either of them going. If I had to choose between the two based on his previous performance I would save +. JDodge was definetly around, he complained so much at the beginning of the task about me not being around and then failed to give me any support during the task. I think JDodge should go.
A few things firsthand. I woke up Wednesday morning to news that my closest friend had been admitted to the hospital with a collapsed lung, which through some complications I don't quite understand has lead to his other lung collapsing and him ending up in the ICU. I really think my disappearance is excusable.

Secondly, I feel that Porochaz did do all the work - However, I feel that he shut both myself and + out of the creative process, which is just simply bad leadership skills on his part. I feel he has continually shown a lack of commitment and an overall lack of teamwork. Furthermore, his saying that I should be fired is ludicrous and solely based on a need for revenge after I called him out during the project manager selection and he had to resort to personal attacks on my character.
JDodge, who do you think should be fired out of the entire 7 remaining for this task? Who of the entire 7 has done the least during this process as a whole?
This is difficult for me to answer, but I'd have to say Max's contributions as a whole have been overall the worst throughout the process, which is definitely a reason for him to be fired. While pickemgenius has been the least contributory, his contributions have been consistently on a much higher standard than Max's.

Or Max, who did well in the tasks I was with him in, or PEG, who stated he was V/LA? or Eteo, by the way I also said he should go, who despite doing nothing this task has done heaps beforehand. No I went for the one who before I knew of your situation this week, who pushed so hard for me to become PM partially due to my lack of participation yet failed to do so himself. I judged you and + the same for not doing anything in the task.

I judged you more for not actually turning up for the task, after "calling me out during the project manager selection" for the exact same thing. The excuse of your friend having a collapsed lung is a fair one, and Id be a lot more tactful if you had posted a one liner just saying "Im V/LA" in the QT or main thread amongst the times you posted in the Dr Jdodge thread.
"Eteo has done heaps beforehand".

And I haven't? I suppose I just lucked out with the 2-0 PM record (by the way, I am the only person who has kind of record) and being only one of 2 project managers to win a task for Eagle Eye. By the way, that other task where Eagle Eye won - I found half of the pictures by myself within a couple hours. Jesus, I'm really lazy. Let's look at a few more of my contributions.

- I found the initial version of the Virgo logo.
- I helped advertise Virgo during task 2, securing votes from contacts while + mass-mailed.
- Coordinated the lemonade sales task submission while reaching a high sales total myself and ensuring that all our team members reached the highest sales total possible.
- Pushed for SensFan to get fired, his ego was ruining the team dynamic.
- Coordinated our efforts during the tower task when KMD just signed on to say "I'm going to bed" and then left the rest to us. Searched a couple thousand cards myself while sick.
- Secured the superior product name in the advertising task.
- Nearly won the chess match against dahill before I made an unfortunate error.

And yeah, I have been around. I just haven't been able to concentrate on anything. Damn me for trying to enjoy myself a bit despite the circumstances while avoiding things that are stressing, which I could tell dealing with you would be.

Generally the auctioneer doesn't bid on the item they're selling.

Max for biggest idiot on Virgo!

Generally people who are playing read the rules and notice that they are hardly going to bid for the opposing side, and that they are personally paying for the products not the team paying for the products
Yet you're the only one so far slimy enough to actually bid on one of your own products.

It's about the winning here, if it was about being honourable this game wouldn't exist
What's interesting is that you admit you have no integrity.

What's more interesting is what it says about your confidence in Virgo's ability to perform that you have to pad your bids.

P. sure this argument would have more weight if you were winning.
I must genuinely say that I hadn't counted, I presumed we were about even, adding DGB (who I knew was going to post), I thought would push us just into the win
20,000 on two items is definitely equal to 20,000!

Remind me of how you've even gotten this far with your lack of brainpower?
