Assuming that scum somehow instantly figures out they're scum instead of truthfully reporting what they see, for any given townie at least 3 people will agree on what their role is (Reliable cop will be seen as such by Inverse, Naive, and Gullible). For the Mirror Cop, no one will agree what their role is (Reliable will see reliable, Inverse inverse, etc.). This means if town can successfully relay the roles they see they win on the spot.
As long as there are two valid animal noises your animal can make, it's possible to encode ASCII characters with it by encoding different sounds as a one or zero. For example, with a cat animal you can encode "CAT" as:
nyan meow nyan nyan nyan nyan meow meow (01000011)
nyan meow nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan meow (01000001)
nyan meow nyan meow nyan meow nyan nyan (01010100)
where nyan = 0 and meow = 1
With optimal play scum can never win
