Quest of Grandia (Now it's really starting)

You just ran home with your copy of Quest of Grandia. The newest MMO on the market, and according to the vast majority of the gaming world, the best one to date. After all, how could the world's first virtual reality game not be good?
You hook up the game and put on the gear. Time to see if this game is really up to the hype.

Basic Rumble rules for those who don't know.

To sign up, just PM me with a title that will at least hint to me that you want to join. Fill out the following list in your PM:

I think I should be okay. I did have to hand off one game to my co-mod, but I got ridiculously bogged down at that time. Everything in the meatworld is running smoothly now, so this should be okay.

Yes, the speed of the pre-game is not entirely the player's fault. I have been kind of slow in responding sometimes. Also, it appears that Firecracker and I live in vastly different time zones, so it's taking a while.

FINALLY. It's over! Everyone has finished the pre-game and everyone has their roles. Getting the first-round flavor text up as soon as possible.

The inn turns out to be the only one in Stonemount, so finding it was not any problem. The sign hanging above the door reads “Hall of the Highwayman” and has a small carving of a robber hanging off of the side. You enter the tavern to find it a quaint little place with hardly anyone in it. There are a few small gatherings of players sitting around at the tables, but you see the person who recruited you earlier sitting with about nine other players at a large table near the center. It seems that they recruited many other people as well, and that most of you have arrived at about the same time.
The players see you coming and pull up some extra tables and chairs. Most people sit down, but a few prefer to remain standing. One of the players already here stands up and looks at the crowd. He wears a white robe with black runic markings along the seams. He lets his hood down and you see that he appears to be some sort of undead. “Well,” he says in a surprisingly non-zombie-like voice, “may as well get things started. As you probably already know, you have been asked here tonight because you have been recruited to join our guild, The Singing Swords. My friends have gone around watching people adventuring and fighting, and have found you the best candidates to join us.
“If you have not been told yet, or goal is to help each other train and fight, so that we can be the best players in the game and dominate at all of the player-versus-player events that can be thrown at us. But, I’m not much of a speaker, so I’ll turn this over to my friend, Naryx.”
The player directly to Xenos’s right stood up. He was pale and had messy black hair. He wore loose dark leather clothes. “Hello, everyone. I’m Naryx. I guess you can consider me Xenos’s right-hand man, or at least one of them. We’re here tonight to discuss matters about our guild. Today, while most of us were out recruiting, Xenos and Akira looked up as much information as possible about beginner dungeons. They found a few that looked suitable, so tomorrow morning, we’re going to be splitting up and heading to the dungeons as kind of an initiation exercise. If you can make it all the way through the dungeon without dying, you will be allowed to join the guild. We only want the best, after all. However, some special exceptions might be made depending on how well you fight or why you die.
“But, we don’t have to worry about that until tomorrow. Tonight is meant to get to know each other. We’re going to hang around and chat it up. However, I would like to make a quick warning. As some of you may have noticed, when they say virtual reality game, they mean it. Everything is this game is quite real. If you take an attack you will feel pain, and I assume this extends to other things, such as getting drunk.” He gave a quick glance at a couple of the players sitting by him. Apparently they already knew each other quite well. “Anyway, just because your character can keep going doesn’t necessarily mean that you can too. If you can’t take too many more hits, feel free to drop out.
“Anyway, now that the serious stuff is out of the way, have fun!”

Conan: Buy your own drinks, you lazy brit.
Alastair: Harsh, mate...

Alastair: Good to see you again, Chen-Hsi. What kinds of spells have you learned so far? Whatever you learn, I recommend that you be conservative with your energy. Mages' abilities tend to take up a lot of energy.
Akira: Hey, Myriek, you have a cheap sword in there?

[BlakAdder]

I can't wait to explore that dungeon. Piper, sing us a song while we wait.

Piper: Of course. However, I would prefer to play the flute, my instrument of choice, instead.

*smirk at the Moogle's plight, still in a shadowy corner*

Dahlia: What's the matter, Mister White? Come out here and have some fun!

*buys drinks on the house*

Danze: Awesome! Buy me one too, big guy? *wink*

A few hours pass and you start to relax and get to know the other guild members a bit better, when someone kicks the bar door open and another large group of players walk in, apparently a guild of their own.
"Comin' through! Outta the way!" their leader shouts as they force their way through.
They walk up to the barmaid and the leader leans over on the bar. "Give us the best stuff you've got, pronto."
"I'm sorry," she says with an apologetic smile. "We're fresh out."
He turns and looks at all of you with a glare, then turns back to the barmaid. "And what are all of these guys drinking? Milk?"
"I'm sorry," the barmaid says again. "but I served the last of it to them."
The guild leader then draws a sword and levels it at the barmaid. "Quit holdin' back. Give us something to drink and we'll only bang this place up a little bit."
"Hey!" someone shouts from the back of the room. You turn and see Conan standing up with Naryx holding his shoulder. "What gives you the right to act like that?"
"What's it to you, ya bum? If you knew what was good for you, you'd just get lost."

How do you react to this now? In-thread, post in bold either "back him up" to take Conan's back against the other guild, or "stay out of it" to leave and mind your own business. Note that discussion may continue as well.
