isn't it possible to just isolate all the players and find their most recent vote? thats what i do when i do unofficial counts in games I'm playing in. Hell, a simple F3:Vote does the job pretty well too.

you mean De-Evolved, we've become lazier/more incapable as a group. Nothing has changed about the site in the last 5 years except WHO the regular members are. Therefore, the problem is THEM, those who make up the community, and in this case, those who moderate games. We don't need to make all the players change how they vote, we need moderators who can recognize bold text.

I suppose mods do not like to read the game they are modding anymore.

Meh, we don't seem to require the players to do so anymore, so i guess its unfair to expect it of the moderators.

If them making mistakes under the current system is frequent to the point we need to change an

just to hold their hands, they shouldn't be modding.

it's two extra characters. It takes something like 4 seconds extra to type ##vote instead of vote. It's really not a big deal, or even a small deal.

Its a system that has worked for years and only isn't working cause we've been inundated with a series of lazy/incompetent mods.

There is no reason to make EVERYONE ON THE SITE change how they vote because SOME (notice the difference between SOME and EVERYONE) mods are too fucking stupid and lazy to find votes in a fucking thread.

If it was a game where there were post restrictions are other things that required irregular bold text, i could understand making it a rule for an individual game, but to make a site wide change simply because a small number of people are incompetents does not make sense.

And it's incompetence and sloth on the point of the mod to force it upon people. I'd say that the shortcomings of 1 affecting 12 or more (example) are worse than the shortcomings of 12 or more affecting one.

My point is that it makes it easier for me as a mod, and I do not feel that it is a significant effort on the part of the players.

The fact that you can't operate with the system that has been working for 5 plus years for the rest of us means that you are 1 of two things. Lazy, or incompetent. Make your choice.

Because I usually am interested enough in my modded games to read what's going on, I see all votes as they happen and change them up in a spreadsheet.
For people who want the ## in front of their votes, do you not read the games you're modding? It's not, IMO, hard to see votes while you're reading through the games.

In the first game people just said "I nominate X" but then they changed to Vote: X. Then to bold voting. Its a progression that makes things clearer.

Except, in my reference, to 5 years ago, the vote making standard was EXACTLY the same as it is today. I didn't mention the first game.
