It doesn't seem that useful to me, if I'm looking for that it pops no more than any other words, and if I'm finding it just seems kind of nitpicky.

I simply ask players to put their votes on a new line or at the end of something. What really bugs me is "bla blah blah VOTE:WHOEVER bla blah blah blah.

although you meant not literally numbers, I think that would be better than ## if this form was adopted.
