I'm going to emphatically third Pirates v. Ninjas for most Enjoyable. It was even enjoyable for me to read after dying Night 2, and I don't usually pay really close attention to games once I die. This one I did.jdodge1019: hasjghsalghsakljghs is from vermont

Except it's Best New Player to the site, so it's definitely appropriate.Shy Guy wrote:Aw, thanks guys. I'm not really "new" to mafia though, so while I'd appreciate being nominated for some award, I'm not sure "Best New Player" is an appropriate one .jdodge1019: hasjghsalghsakljghs is from vermont

I'm pretty sure that the judges could use a combination of both, in addition to how helpful they are for the newbies. I don't think it should be either qualitative play or quantitative play, as neither is really what the ICs are for. They're there to help the newbies, in addition to playing with them, so a combination of all three is probably the best way of deciding.Thestatusquo wrote:A relevant question would then become "is the IC award for qualitative play or for quantitative play"

bad idea, it tells people to join lots of games as IC which will lower their quality of playFarkshinsoup wrote:It could be a straight quantity award. At the end of the year just tally up who signed up for the most games, and rename it "Most Prolific IC". No nominations, and maybe it will have the side effect of motivating IC's to play in even more newbie games to win the award.jdodge1019: hasjghsalghsakljghs is from vermont

I read that, and it really didn't seem that bad as compared to some that I've seen. That was an obvious modkill, and it didn't really give away anything of the setup that could've ruined that game. In addition, he happened to omit the name of his partner, so it didn't ruin the game for him. That wasn't, IMO, anything special.forbiddanlight wrote:

Judging the scummies is a pain, and this category is one of the most subjective. Whate elements of the set-up, rule set, and excution of cicero's mod duties made this game so enjoyable?keeping the game intact through a few tough calls (i.e. Ennui's full roleclaim quote), prompt processing of night actions. Speaking of that game:Tarhalindur wrote:Nominate:The Town of Mini 594: Satin Doll Showdown
Award:Best Performance By A Team
Game:Mini 594: Satin Doll Showdown
Seriously, my scum team got OWNED due to the quality of play from the town. We would have gone down in flames a lot earlier than we did if the town hadn't bought my gambit and ignored Elmo for so long.
Speaking of that game...
Nominate:Tarhalindur
AwardBest performance in a losing Cause
Game:Mini 594: Satin Doll Showdown
Although he was the first one to die from the scum team, his gambit and play throughout the first two days managed to confuse the town enough to almost pull off the win for the scum. He managed to connect himself to me enough that the town lynched me(that also had to do with my sucky play, but my point still stands). He also caused the town to completely ignore Elmo until the last day. Also a couple other things that I can't think of at the moment, but as soon as I died, I was like "wow, Tar played perfectly except for dying"jdodge1019: hasjghsalghsakljghs is from vermont

Why wouldn't that fall under "Best performance: scum" or "most cunning manipulator" or something else we already have?Lord Gurgi wrote:Why is there no Bus Driver award for best bus?jdodge1019: hasjghsalghsakljghs is from vermont

how would you separate best bus from best scum performance then? I'd wager a guess that most best scum performance nominations included the nominee bussing.Lord Gurgi wrote:
Because best bus is like best roleclaim, it's not going to be lumped in with Best Performance by an Individual either.Mr. Flay wrote:

I read that game, and I don't think it's worthy of a scummie. I don't think that game had very good play from anyone, in all honesty. Just an average game, and while they may have gone unnoticed, that's because they just didn't say much ever. That's not good play, that's lurking.flashstorm wrote:Nomfor Best Performance in a Losing Cause/Cassandra Award to thegeckoj and Jshark for Newbie 649.
They managed to roleblock the doctor for two nights in a row, stopping what would have been two successful night protections. They managed to go through the day fairly unnoticed, with Jshark often being comment on as a very pro-town player. Their play only unraveled at Ly-Lo, when a very clever cop fuzzy chose to investigate the towniest player in hopes he'd have both scum cornered through elimination. It became a matter of the doc and cop convincing the lone confirmed townie, Charter, between them and the scum pair. The fact that the doc got roleblocked both nights in a row, with correct protection choices, was too improbable to Charter to be a lie, and scum lost.
I know it's a late nom, but I just discovered this thread.[/url]jdodge1019: hasjghsalghsakljghs is from vermont

This was done in Guardian's iPick. Although it might not be the exact same role, they're close enough that I don't think the second one deserves it as I'd suspect Tar took it from Guardian.forbiddanlight wrote:Nominate:Tarhalindur

That was a really fun role to play. Essentially, my first post, I got modkilled. Except I wasn't really dead. I could post through the mod (with a PR), kill some people, vote other people, FoS other people. I mean, for all intents and purposes I was alive posting through the mod with a one shot dayvig. And this role felt really innovative in the way it was constructed.jdodge1019: hasjghsalghsakljghs is from vermont

he's been here 3 months, and it's a newbie game. I still don't think that he should get it. Nothing against him, but newbie games are a very different monster than every other game.SensFan wrote:
