What do you think ?
This question's answer might vary by mod, but can the vig be the lynching vote and in the same (or really quick next) post take someone else out? I can imagine how to explain it via death scene, but wonder how mods would handle that.

That is kinda spicey...they have to coordinate but not so overtly they get caught. Also the possibilty of scum claiming psycho cop, if the opportunity presents itself.

All groups are public...meaning everyone knows that 1+2, 3+4, 5+6 etc are lovers?

The group leaders can't claim because they'd get day-killed, killing their subordinates, so scum and group leaders are gonna claim subordinate roles.

ADD: Or are the scum day kills only on a scum death? That makes more sense...

I like the name Poser for the Miller Extreme, as in the Worst Roles thread. How about this:

Punks and Posers
1 SK
2 Punks (Mafia)
1 Poser (Picks a player each night, investigates as that win condition by the cop)
1 Cop (Gets 'wins with town' and 'doesn't win with town')
7 Townies

Poser is a possible safe claim until he goes down.

Possible tweaks:
Swap SK for another scum and swap a Townie for a Survivor (how would that look to the cop?)
Swap a Townie for another Poser
Swap cop for Gunsmith (and tweak results accordingly), which makes the SK a bit stronger

Female = ABC
Male = 123

A-1
B-2
C-3
etc...

Lynch a pair, say B-2.

Next day, pairs are:
A-3
C-1
(Males moved one over)

Lynch a new pair.

Right?

Thok wrote:I don't know whether this idea works or not, and it probably needs tweaking.

Quagmire's Revenge

2 Mafia Goons
1 Cop
7 Vanilla townies
2 Amnesiac Masons: One is the mafia Godfather (investigation immune), one is a protown mason, neither knows which is which. Mafia knows who the Godfather is, but can't talk to him at night. Masons know that each other is a mason, and can talk at night (but don't know their roles.)

It's probably necessary for the theme to work that the Amnesiac Godfather can't submit a night kill. I don't know if you want to be an amnesiac mason.

Edit: it occurs to me that masons need to stop being amnesiac once the goons die for the game to be playable. So that's going to be added in.
Hmm....what about a Goon being neighbors (unconfirmed masons) with a townie, and the cop is a "Talk Cop" who only learns if a player can talk to others at night.

Or...

3 sets of Neighbors
0-1 Goon/Townie (33%)
0-1 Townie/Amnesiac GF (33%)
1-3 Townie/Townie

1 Cop
5-6 Townies

If GF is not a neighbor, he replaces a townie. Death does not reveal if a Townie or the GF could night talk.

ADD: This probably steers it right out of Normal, but throw in the townies voting for the investigation target, votes for the cop ignored. Everyone does something at night!

Yeah...it does seem like it mostly comes down to 3 town v 1 goon, so No-Lynch and have 2 v 1. Might as well do that from the start.

joke nominate: Endgame (2 townies vs 1 goon)

Nominate Pokerface: Not a balance expert

</title stalker>

I like the block and kill option if it holds up after a goon is lynched/killed and they face an even number of people.

Oh, I read the thread :P

I was eating a sammich and didn't have the brain focus available to figure out how the setup wasn't still broken when it was, say, 4 townies and 2 scum.

But then I realized that it'd end up 1 scum vs 1 townie:

A-B (both die)
C-S1 (scum dies, C is NK)
D-S2 (D is RB)

Endgame scum win.

Hmm...skimming the wiki for ideas what about:

Code: Select all

3-Way Switch
2 Goons
1 Mafia Traitor Switch
1 Sk
1 Vig
5 Townies
1 Vig Switch
1 SK Switch

The Vig/SK switches don't know which one they control, or who it is. They PM the mod on/off.

The Traitor Switch can't talk with the Goons. He can flip switch A or switch B, which will flip either the SK or the Vig. He doesn't know which is which the mod knows, of course). His flip be the opposite of the Town switch choice.

I like the name '3-way switch' because its a common electrical device in everyone's household, and the mechanic 'works' in a mafia sense, but I have no idea if it's balanced or fun enough.

Maybe he's naive :P

That makes pairing off very interesting...SK could shoot elsewhere, jailer could protect themselves, doc and RB could cover each other...

I think most of the interesting setup/strategy debate would happen here and in practice it'd be mostly coin flips:

If the townie hammers a saint, the mafia win. If a saint hammers the other saint, the mafia win.

The only winning move is not to play.

I'd like to nominate the
scum-picked lovers
games that
I think Tomato
Crazy proposed in the
hypothetical
theoretical setup thread:

3 scum
9 townies

No NK

Scum pair people as lovers each night and who loves whom is posted publicly each morning.

If the RB can block and kill if the Goon dies, then the Goon can just kill the tracker. If the watcher comes out on the Goon, then RB can do w/e he wants night 2.

ADD: The flaw in the original Newbie was that the cop was truly immune from death. Not so here.

Hmm- hangman doesn't seem to have anything that'd make the lynchers scummy.

What about the lynchers knowing each other (but not the other's target) and having to get both targets lynched for the win? Then there's some following that can link them to give the town something to look for.

Lynch a townie, Goon lover kills bomb lover, Day 2 is 3:2. Worst case seems a little wild.
