I wasn't sure how anyone suspected forbidden anyway--- I mean, it's not like the town knew there were two godfathers, and even if a goon could inherit the GF's daykill, the GF was clearly alive when FL shot him.

'Course, if I had been one of the GF's, I'd have shot the other one. Killing a godfather + investigation immune would probably get you through the endgame.
