FREE FIRING SQUAD - apply within

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Wed May 14, 2008 4:22 am

Have you enough of players backing down on perfectly good lynches?

Does other players' hesitation to hammer a player against which an airtight case has been made, drive you insane?

Have you, as a serial killer, NK'd Yosarian2 because his wishy-washiness is a drag on the game, even though he's 100% saying you're town and is your biggest ally?

Do you break precious platters of fine bone china from the frustration of players going against great wagons on worthless players as if they were confirmed townies?

How long does it take to lynch an annoying, non-contributing lurker? Does 6 months and a hundred pages sound familiar?

Have you ever asked yourself why it's so hard to lynch borderline troll players?

Are you in that New York game with a 56 page long Day 1?

=========================

If the above sounds like YOU, you must apply for membership in the FREE FIRING SQUAD, a group of players that believe in vigorous, enthusiastic and decisive lynching regimens.

Benefits include:
1 - shorter more active games.
2 - shorter games means fewer and easier replacements.
3 - a Nibbler avatar
4 - your suggestions are welcome.

To an extent, I believe I agree. See sig for details.

I won't formally apply for any organized metagroups, but I do agree that people need to stop beating around the bush and start killing each other ruthlessly.

Only Yosarian can pull this one off.

Albert invited me to join so obv. /in...

I agree that days have become too long and the players not cut-throat enough. But I have to admit that sometimes I like to act wishy-washy to give someone enough rope to hang themselves. Sort of pretend you think the person is town and then ask a seemingly inocuous question that is really a trap. That's fun sometimes. I started doing it because everyone was saying I was too aggressive.

I can go back to full-out bitch if necessary for membership though.

I looked back at a mini I modded a few years ago. The whole game was 12 pages long and went to lylo with town winning. So... let's stop having 50-page minis.

I don't know about this firing squad thing. I mean you all appear to have the town's best interest in mind, but how can I know for sure...:beardscratch:

Do you offer training seminars to help nervous players get over their hesitation? If so, I could see joining being useful to me, but otherwise I don't think I qualify. :(

Yes. We are currently sending requests to specialized players that we think are capable of offering individualized coaching, Q&A sessions, 1-on-1 training and more.

Sure. I you want to do it, just do it and don't waste everyone's time psycho-analysing yourself over it.

And we need more day vigs to move the games along when they get slow.

Lol.

The funny thing is, when I started playing, I was always the guy being the voice of reason, who was trying to slow down runaway bad bandwagons and stuff. These days, most of the time it seems like I'm the one who's saying "for the love of God, we've been debating this for two months, can we PLEASE lynch someone already?" My playstyle hasn't changed, but the rest of the site has gotten so much more cautious and passive.

What mafiascum really needs these days is more sheep. We've always got 12 different leaders trying to go in different directions, and no one willing to blindly follow a halfway plausable wagon to it's logical conclusion.

We don't have 12 leaders, we have 11 christian priests and 1 decent player despairing over the endless sermons.
