Maru, is that on the server? Do you have any extra client mods installed?
Also java version? Which launcher and are you using any special java settings?
You might be able to use a much lower memory setting, I run with slightly over 4gb without much issue.

blech. i will look at the ores. maybe we can disable some if other mod ores will substitute though i'm guessing they won't. the ore crowding is really my largest complaint about whatever that pack is right now.
NC oregen is pretty specific. It is in layers and most of that is <Y20 but, if you include IC2 or Immersive Engineering, the main fuel source is covered. The only concern after than would be making sure there is enough Boron and Lithium to make the auxiliary stuff. Which it seems the mod does that enough by default.

I never said nothin' back to him. You don't want mess with no freak that's searchin' around that hard for blood.
Again, I will say again, I like Nuclearcraft and hope it is included but if it isn't, I'm not gonna go off in a corner and cry. The main point was if it is included, then add in IC2 or IE<-My Preference as it adds way much more than than ore gen, to make it actually worth getting into NC with. The default Thorium gen that NC does is no where close to being ablr to run the mod (by Revalations standards) without a mod a kick up fuel gen....i.e Uranium.

yes on server, but it seems to hit 100% RAM usage at splash screen as soon as it loads up too. no client mods
1.8.0_161, 9 gigs max ram
I have 16 gigs. the issue isn't that i want it to run at whatever setting I have it at, the issue is it is ramping up the ram usage to the max setting within seconds of launch needlessly. I usually only utilize about 1-3 gigs of the max ram setting I have set, but after 4-5 days of leaving MC open, it will usually slowly memory leak to the full 8 gigs and cause visual slowdown in game, then I reset MC and start the cycle again. yesterday/today it doesn't slowly memory leak up to max ram, it hits max ram usage at splash screen on initialization. I have 16 gigs, having 8 gigs max and it eating all eight isn't a *problem*, computer wise, it just shouldn't be doing it.
My java is 1.8.0_151 and I specify the extra parms -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC.
I use "resource monitor" on windows to see committed vs working set memory usage. Mine is at the max memory I specified too... 5120MB.
In F3 upper right corner mem% is fluctuating around 87%. Though that's in game, not at splash.
Without having more info best guess is that either Windows or the JVM have changed to be proactive and give it the max up front. Though if you're getting apples vs. oranges between this pack and another on the same windows/java then it's bloat somewhere in the pack.

I found it but it has been removed from BoP anyway
On revelation we're playing without BoP as default world and TBH I'm not missing anything. Thinking some of the most useful biomes are basically already in vanilla. Unless you get the biomes anyway without specifically using that as the world type? Confuzzled...
Would question why visceral heap -- does it give something useful?
When I play with BoP I turn off quicksand, poison ivy, and other annoying worldgen that I can't remember offhand.

If everyone who's planning to spend a significant amount of time on the server could take a look at the suggestions tab and add their comments to the notes column, that would help me narrow things down. I think it's getting close to a testable list.
I got that from the list. My comment was effectively (or perhaps ineffectively) asking why. I hate it with a passion, but maybe I'm overlooking something useful.

It's usefulness is in direct proportion to how much it creeps M out
Working on this a bit. Initial list almost complete. Will upload for testing to begin tomorrow Default configs. I'll work on configs while we test on server.
Arch can you prepare a server in akliz? I'll be able upload the files to google drive tomorrow morning. I'll include all the library files, whitelist and everything we'll need. Just gotta get it on the server.
Yes, and if 4gb is enough to test we can keep the horizon server active during testing.
Provided all the mods are available on curseforge, I can put it in a new version of scumpack for direct client download (for people who can do that). Easiest way to do that is to have the modlist be accurate, and i can build an instance directly in twitch client.

4GB might be fine. It is currently accurate. I'll make sure to note any changes if they get made and let you know. For now, I'm still working on getting it to load at the moment. I'll let you know when it's ready ready
