The occurence of my scumday has led me to realise that I'm well behind schedule on achieving the fame that I had envisioned for myself here on Mafiascum. As such, I've been forced to admit that I may not know everything about being an internet big shot, so I've decided to ask some of the more experienced famewhores here in GD for advice. I've already checked off point one in my plan:

Be the best version of yourself. What do you want people to think of you as contributing to the site? Contribute that thing.
Post more in GD and MD. Contribute to discussions there. Try to say things that others haven't thought of, articulatly. Ideas that benefit the site. Perspectives that might change minds. Try not to be wrong too often. Strive for "QFT"s and "Wins at life"s and so forth.
I'd suggest cultivating a gimmick, but I've tried a couple of times; like goth clothes, I like the look on others when they do it well, but would get bored with wearing the same colour every day; similarly I could not call Scully hot three times a week for several decades (or what seems like it )

The problem with AniXes gimmick isn't that it's annoying, just that it's WRONG.
Become vocal and unlikable. Get a hilarious avatar. Make a sockpuppet whose gimmick is to agree with you. Make outrageous claims (on mafia or general subjects) and defend them no matter what.
I agree with Adele. You need a gimmick. Goth clothes would be a bad idea. Your gimmick should not restrict your options. It should be something fun you can slip in to your posts easily.

Observation: The poster quoted above follows none of her own suggestions yet has managed to become quite comfortably famous on the site.
