I believe the small detachable controllers do have built in motion controls. No dual screen makes 3ds comparability hard though, and no dvd drive makes wiiU hard.

ah, I realize what you meant now. I don't see the need in ever owning a 2nd one of those I guess? why not just get a pro controller if thats what you wanted.

At the very least I'm extremely hyped for zelda and mario. If we eventually get a mariomaker for it too and something from the dkc line I'll consider it a good purchase. (I already preordered one)

Though to be fair, I've never had the issue with lack of third party support that some claim. I have a high end computer. If the game isn't an exclusive it's going to almost surely be on PC too. And When looking at exclusives, I've always thought nintendo killed it with their first party support.

Sorry if it seemed like I was challenging your ability to dislike the system. You can dislike it for whatever reasons you want. Mine situation isn't your situation.

Davsto. You need to understand that like this first phase means a lot. Wii U died about 3 months in and everyone knew it. If this thing doesn't get traction relatively quickly, it very likely will die and get neglected just like Wii U.
It's not a holiday launch window. Expecting a holiday launch window amount of titles is silly. Compare it to the 3ds's starting library (which also launched in march). I think the 3ds's was considerably worse.

I mean, its clearly intentional by them. Agree or disagree. With that said, even if it wasn't, the wii u obviously has a much bigger install base than the switch is going to have in the first 3 weeks. Even if the switch is doing well for sales (which it is). They only released like 1.5m units on launch day and another 500k by the end of march. There are like ~14m wii u's.

We aren't at the holiday season yet though. And the switch still sold well. They also actually advertised the switch well and didn't completely bungle the marketing of the switch by making it look like a wii accessory. I don't know if the switch is going to be a huge success, but I'd be pretty surprised if it doesn't do double the number of units that the wii u did.

They don't need it to move units like the wii did, thats nonsense. The wii was a fluke, if it did as well as the 3ds I think that would be a pretty big win, suspect it wont do that well though.
(for comparison the wii did like 100m units, the 3ds has done like 60m. The ps4 has done like 53m as the best selling console so far from the current generation)

Apparently Nintendo decided to double their production run of the Switch for this year from 8 million (reasonable but maybe small imo) to 16 million (which seems way too big).

my only gripe is the constant reminders that the switch is underpowered by the slowdowns i get. sometimes you get like 25 fps in areas
Playing in portable mode I only got slow downs in 2 locations. Wont say which because spoilers. I heard there was more when running at 1080 instead of 720 though.

I'm surprised you did that all in 30-40h. I did like 100 shrines before getting bored with them, but I easily put in over 100. I guess I dicked around more.

Sometimes I wonder for botw how my experiences compare to others because its such an unscripted game.
My experience with the dragons was great. Saw one, Got the power shrine quest (had no idea what it was) then found the top of the mountain shrine where it walks you through getting a scale from the infected one. All flowed so well. Felt like a crafted experience.
edit:
I will say the biggest let down for me was that those shrines were only shrines though. I wish they gave some sort of unique enhancement. Even if much weaker than the divine beasts.
edit:
I know they wanted the clothing to remain relevant, but even if it was just like immunity to cold/heat/being shocked as a status.

They have 1/3 of the pokemon company, but they likely have a much larger ownership of pokemon (which isn't owned by the pokemon company). They also own all of the trademarks for pokemon games, like the name pikachu for instance. They could strong arm whatever decision they wanted.
