I hope this one isn't as disappointing as X and Y

I want it to have at least SOME challenge to it

(not getting it til I'm home for Thanksgiving break tho)

It's been over a decade since any Pokemon game made me feel this way. I've gotten used to my thoughts upon starting a new game being "What are my rules for this challenge? What are the ideal catches for certain locations? Alright, hope I don't die."

But playing Sun, I feel like a kid in a candy store. I'm exploring areas for the fun of it instead of trying to find items. Whenever I see a Pokemon, I immediately want to catch it and become giddy upon doing so, even when I have no desire to use that Pokemon in my party. I'm in awe of how far Pokemon games have come. My primary goals are to explore and learn. I haven't felt this way since Colosseum (or Ruby/Sapphire if you want to stick with core games).

So glad I decided against a Nuzlocke first run

How difficult is this game compared to others (not Nuzlocke)

I'm towards the beginning of the second island

My team rn is Brionne, Oricorio, and Mudbray
Am I the only one who didn't really like the early selection of Pokémon on Melemele? I felt there were too many uninteresting ones from past games and too few new ones that I wanted to pick up.
The Trials are super fun and the one totem Pokémon I have fought was pretty tough
I'm glad this game isn't as easy as X and Y because that really turned me off to Gen 6
The world is a lot of fun to walk through and explore too which was also lacking in Gen 6

Overall I love this game and I hope I become a Pokémon master

I didn't want the Pidgey clone but I admit that it is probably one of the cooler early Alolan Pokes

Wow so I just lost to the 4th trial's totem Pokemon twice in a row

My current team is
Salandit
Mudbray
Brionne

Lurantis OHKO's Mudbray and Brionne,
and Salandit is too frail to survive a 2v1 all by itself when Lurantis' bitch ass spams Synthesis

Hooray for challenge though!!!

I guess I'll take Oricorio out of retirement to help out even though I kinda hate using Pokemon I won't use in the long run

Dw fam I beat Lurantis on the third attempt

I just had Oricorio use Featherdance on both Pokemon and stalled it out of Synthesis

Using this game to procrastinate on studying for my finals and I just beat the Ghost Trial

The water starter final evolution is OP af I am so glad I chose Popplio

I am really hooked to this world/story, plus almost all of the new Pokemon have good designs and are actually viable both in game and competitively

DEFINITELY better than gens 5/6 and probably 3 too

Yeah BW was shit but BW2 was pretty good imo
