Just started a new 5e campaign that was supposed to be a one-off but has gotten extended to a 2nd session. Playing as a halfling warlock who's a bit touched in the head because her pact is with the Great Old One.

It's spectacular and I am having a blast RPing her.

What do you mean by 'what is it'? So far as I know, it's based on standard PHB stuff, with a setting / plot entirely of the DMs devising.

Oh, sure thing. It was intended to be a one-shot but it's stretched into at least a second episode. The plot setting, basically, is that the characters were all passengers on a ship traveling from one continent to another. That's all we were told going in - you're getting on a boat to another continent, make up a backstory that includes why you're getting on this boat. The first session began with the boat going under in a storm, and the PCs washed up on a strange island. There was an impassable wall of coral several feet in from the beach, that appears to stretch along the entire visible coastline.

Thus far, we've walked counter-clockwise around the island, running into a beached shipwreck and a dead body. We did some investigaton - there appeared to be a swarm of electric eels or sea snakes, and we didn't bother with them. Further around, we ran into some skeletons dragging some fresh corpses up the beach. We murderated them, and that's where the session ended.

I am playing a halfling warlock, who has entered into a pact with the Great Old One. I'm playing her as basically crazy person, driven mad from the things she's seen and experienced as a result of the pact. She's running from some event or trauma she caused, or thinks she caused - she doesn't even remember or know what it is, but she knows she needs to get away from it. It's a really fun character to play.

Nope, just the PCs survived. And yeah, it's pretty entertaining. I took the Pact Weapon path, and so I have a dagger as my pact weapon. Flavorwise, I sad that "if you look at it closely, it doesn't appear to be three-dimensional." FUN CTHULU-Y THINGS

Do you like making pretty maps, but are bad at art? JUST LIKE ME?

Someone pointed me to inkarnate.com a bit ago, and it is super great. Highly recommended, IMO.

I have semi-accidentally started running a 5e campaign. :D I ran a one-shot on Saturday, and the players liked it so much that they wanted to just turn it into a full-bore campaign. I am spending my free time the next two weeks building a campaign!

YAY IT WENT WELL WOOOO

OVERVIEW STUFF:

The party consists of Norin, a half-elven warlock of the Undying Light (played by BV!); Bree, the human bard; Garrick, a human ranger/rogue; and Indriell, an elven rogue.

The brief overview of the one-shot this spun off from had the four party members saving a town they all live / were staying in from an overnight overgrowth of vines that blanketed about half the town and murdered a good chunk of people in their sleep. They made their way through a newly overgrown part of the nearby forest, fighting some plant creatures and dealing with strangly vines. They eventually solved the problem by defeating a mad centaur druid and destroying a magical dead tree.

This session started the next day, with a merchant in town asking them to accompany him to the large elven city of Corellondil. The party agreed to help out, and they set out that afternoon. They made their way on a path through the Forest Lariethan, which contains an assortment of potentially dangerous creatures. Just after they finished eating dinner, they were set upon by a peryton - a large bird creature with the head of a stag. The party was able to dispatch it without too much trouble, though the warlock did take a fair bit of damage from the one attack the peryton managed to get off before they killed it. The party collected the creature's antlers, and then placed the creature in the merchant's cart, hoping to sell it or use it as meat on the road. They then decided to settle down and sleep for the night. The rogue stayed up for the first watch, and on her watch, she noticed a pair of eyes glinting at her from in the shadows of the forest. She woke the bard, but despite her best efforts, was unable to convince the bard that there was anything there. The bard went back to sleep. A few minutes later, the thing in the forest turned around and flung a javelin straight at her, which conveniently missed. It then walked forwards at her, revealing itself to be an ogre. She woke the party and struck at it with her rapier, dealing some damage. The battle continued between the party and the ogre, with the ogre continuing to stay next to the rogue. The rogue was actually knocked unconscious just before the ranger was able to kill the ogre, and the ranger rushed forward to give a healing potion to her. After ensuring the ranger was fine, the party slept through the rest of the night without issue, waking up the next morning ready to go. The session ended at that point.

We're going to start next week an hour earlier, and see how that goes. The session went really well, and they all seemed to enjoy themselves quite a bit. :)

do what? they didn't do anything that seemed bothersome. Indirell made the roll to notice, Bree didn't. Bree threw faerie fire at it and the ogre made its save. Bree went to sleep. *shrug*

Tense. The owlbear could pretty nearly one-shot any of the 4 of them if it landed both attacks and rolled decent - and it rolled decent pretty much all night (and the party rolled like shit).

The dungeon design was really excellent from Glork. I fully intend to utilize some concepts / ideas from that dungeon in my own designs, it was a blast and very clever.
