On Maru's server if you walk around near spawn you might find a bay with a Sandy Hook on it. My house is also dug in on the side of a hill. No one build on my sandy hook! I have plans for it!

There are plenty of cool spots on the server anyway, since we got those extra biomes mod.

There is still PLENTY of unbuilt territory. Hell the Northeast part of the continent still hasn't been fully explored. I got two camps out there, that's about it. Skytown is very vast and spacious. The only play we're really and truly out of space is around spawn and spawntown.

Oi! New people!

We have a couple of guidelines on the server. Things like no griefing, setting of TNT in an area that has been built in, no TNT in spawntown period. And if someone requests daylight everyone takes a moment to accommodate them whether it mean logging off for about 30 seconds or finding a bed.

We used to be able to do this like clockwork but now it's like pulling teeth.

So here is the break-down of how the game works.

Each competitor will start at the same time.

Your inventory is restricted. This is what you'll definitely need. Food, and a shovel.

Optional items: All items and tools must be unenchanted. You may wear armor, have a sword, bow, arrows, pickaxe, clock, compass, fishing rod. Any other item, just ask me if you can use it or not.

The race has several legs. Some portions even have tasks that you must complete before moving forward. You will be given clues on how to get to each checkpoint. These clues will be visual and contain a verbal clue to the check-points. For example if a clue says "find me at the place in which you first see this world" you might deduce the clue means to go to the spawn-point. (and you'd be right). The visual aspect of the clue might show you the sign in relation to the area. Or it might show you the view of the sign, or the view of the landmark the sign is hidden in or around.

You may not break aspects of the course for any reason. Any blocks that are a part of challenges, are off limits to be broken. Some challenges might require to collect an item, you may only collect one item. Don't take them all and ruin the game. Finally use some common sense, if you feel an action you can take might be disruptive to the competition, don't do it.

Approved methods of getting around include....walking....riding a pig....using a boat....using rails, using the nether. You may not under any circumstances use any sort of warp or teliportation command.

Okay. I do declare that the only places to spawn Wither is Wither Isle, and you must kill it. Anyone spawning a Wither elsewhere will be banned and then thusly mocked. Also there will be a heavy tax. The tax is a 'take all your stuff if you fuck up the server tax' in according with Article III lines 3-14 of the Mafiascum Minecraft Server Tax Code.

Nah, the Mods need to be at the same risk of falling to death, getting blindsided by a creeper, etc. I understand flying around when they are doing Modly duties, like fixing spawn or something, but otherwise that shit should be turned off and they can press the shift button like everyone else. Flying can be used as like a reward for a server contest or something, but not just whenever it's convenient.

M, I'm taking this seriously. I said something long-winded to Maru in a PM about it.

We've gotten a bit ridiculous lately. It seems like there is always something. I support a bit of a regime change. We use this server as the MS Community server, even though Maru currently hosts it himself. (which we should set up a way to pay for it as a community, but that's a different issue altogether.)

When we've gotten to the point where the OPs go "lets show everyone how much we cheat" that's a bit of a problem. I know that everyone is taking this event at varying levels of seriousness, and that's fine I guess. But at least for me, I've invested a lot of time into this server, calendar-wise, longer than anyone else. But you guys have all invested your time too. I take the server very seriously in a sense that using the server isn't a waste of my time. So an issue like this where everyone goes "lol drama" as much as I downplay drama with fake-rage, an issue like this is important to me.

If we regenerated unpopulated/unused areas I would be okay with that as a compromise. Abandoning everything we've worked on this past year I wouldn't be. We lost a ton of shit with the previous reset too. Some pretty impressive shit we never ever replicated. Admins, the Webchat gives my IP to my brother's username, he'll never use it though so it'd be great if it could be fixed so it displays my name when i use it.

Even though "regen everything" is "leading" with 30% of the vote, 70% of the vote is against a total regen, so it should not be done.

A lot of the Mod stuff really doesn't have application for communal use, unless you want to make a big transportation hub.
