Hey all. I didn't pre-order but I just bought a new pc laptop (yay) and can thus handle the Guild Wars 2. I shall add you all.
Also I am doing a research project on gaming, with Guild Wars as the main game I'm using, so that should be cool.

Feels like I'm always 1 level behind the recommended level for places. I only have like one place left in sylvari land so all I've been doing is finding vistas

so I've already played through the intros of every race (I like making characters, okay?). I think the best ones are the Charr and the Sylvari. The Charr battle just feels massive and makes you feel like a soldier. The Sylvari are just awesome.
A little let down by the Norn beginning, although the giant frostworm is pretty cool. Main issues with norn and asura endings are that it forces you to be a hunter/engineer to some extent. Like, even if you are a necromancer you still have to hunt wild beasts and invent shit.

2 questions:
What is the best weapon set for an earth mage? I like having some degree of range, but haven't decided if the offhand dagger skills are better.

Should i delete my engineer and replace him with a thief? I like certain aspects of the engineer, but they aren't a very focussed class. And thief is OP in pvp, so i'm considering. If anyone here plays an engineer, do they get better?

Yeah I think scepter/dagger is my favorite combo, but dagger/dagger may be better when I switch to arcane (sounds like a lame trait choice focus but I love the switching/combos). My only issue is a get wrecked in WvW because I have to get close to do any damage.

Thieves are so much fun too, which helps. Still love my ele but I just started a acrobat/conditions thief and its badass.

You sure the bird thing is legit? Tengu was going to be one of the original races, but they changed it and went for the sylvari. May just be old art.

Yeah you guys should start plain again, maybe join my current guild as the mafia one is soo inactive

yeah thats what everyone does, although I always try to do the dungeons when I'm the right level. It helps experience a lot and you tend to meet people you enjoy playing with (surprisingly less assholes than in WoW, at least from my memory)

the new content is good. idk, its sort of turned into the Sims for me. meaning, I'll stop playing for a long time then spend a few days playing wayyy too much.
